My two cents... or 2 dollars at this rate

Obligatory cliche intro: Many of you probably remember what r/CryptoCurrency was like before 2017...Of course there were still plenty of moon/lambo enthusiasts, but by and large the attitude was that cryptocurrency would fix the problems in our banking system. I always thought it would be a good idea to put some money in crypto in case another economic meltdown happened, but I didnt realize it would happen this soon.Lets look at the facts (I'm American, so this is from an american point of view):- Weekly unemployment claims are up ~600% since 2008. It's a bigger green candle on the chart than shitcoins in December 2017- The US government is going to give away 2 trillion dollars. This money will simply be added to the national debt, which if you consider that the debt isn't going to be paid back, basically means it gets printed from nothing. That's about 6000 dollars per person in the united states printed out of thin air. You've probably already heard of this one, but here's a link- The President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, when prompted "To the person who is about to grab their car keys and go to the ATM and take out 3000 dollars, you say what?" responded: "There is an infinite amount of cash in the Federal Reserve. We will do whatever we need to do to make sure there’s enough cash in the banking system." I kid you not. (12:40)- The FDIC released a video telling people not to take their money out of the banks. Now I'm not telling you that bitcoin will make you rich or even gain value, but I think it is a genuinely a good idea to buy crypto right now, just to store some of your savings before the incoming bank run happens. We've already seen people empty grocery stores in panic, and the next time it happens it will be banks, not grocery stores. And it won't be toilet paper that's missing.

Buying crypto on eToro - short review (USA resident)

I got the green light from my wife to put some more money into crypto not too long ago. When the market tanked I wanted a quick way to deposit. I looked for an exchange that would allow me to link my bank account for lower fees and quicker loads. Coinbase is not an option for me, I was banned for there years ago, they would never tell me why but I assume it is for sending BTC to a place they weren’t happy with. Kraken, Bittrex, Bitstamp - they all are wire only. I wanted to try Vertbase but for some reason they had some rules that I did not like. Can’t remember what it is now but it was a complete deal breaker - you can’t just buy some bitcoin and send it away easily. I came across eToro and learned they can hook up with your bank, and they didn’t have the same weird rules as Vertbase, so I gave it a try. I will not five too deep into the platform, as I did not use many features, but here are some points I would like to share: - Verification was super easy, required no photos, and I am genuinely surprised I have my btc on my ledger without further identity steps. Not sure what the limits are, I bought less than 1 BTC. - I was able to begin trading extremely fast. Within minutes of initiating my first deposit, I was able to trade. The exact amount that was debuted from my bank account showed up in my eToro account, no fees. - They have two ways to initiate an order - “trade” and “order”. Trade mentioned leverage, and on the initial screen would not let me adjust the buy price. Perhaps there was a screen somewhere to enable advanced options but I was not interested in that. “Order” allowed you to name the price your order would fill. There is no order book or chart, it is very simple.- Going to the order screen from the price/stats page would display a bitcoin price of .75% higher. Other crypto’s have varied spreads, or fees, with BTC the lowest. This is a pretty good fee, especially when your deposit was free. - In order to withdraw my BTC, I had to create a wallet, which is a separate app. You then have to initiate a withdraw, which cost .0005 BTC. Unfortunately if you laddered your buys as I did - the app treats every individual sale as individual, so each one incurred a .0005 BTC fee to withdraw to my wallet. That kind of sucked, I had 6 or 7 orders.- I received my BTC in my wallet the next day. The wallet advertises that they keep your private keys so it’s so easy and safe- you log in with your regular account name and password. So not a good idea to store there. - Once in that wallet I immediately attempted to withdraw to my ledger. This was frustrating as it displayed the fee to withdraw, which wasn’t too bad, so I subtracted it from my total and tried to withdraw. It appeared to work but then going back to my account it said it failed due to insufficient funds for fees. I tried to withdraw about 4 more times, and on the last attempt, I was getting worried that this was going to turn into a problem, but it went through. Kind of annoying they don’t tell you how much you need, as now I have a few dollars left sitting there, went too far, and I’ll probably never retrieve it. But voila, I checked the block explorer and literally less than a couple minutes my transaction was there and the balance showed at the address, albeit the transaction still needed to be confirmed. I checked hours later and my btc is safe on my ledger.- eToro claims you cannot withdraw crypto until after 25 days after your initial deposit, but I was able to a week after my first deposit. All in all - eToro had a big learning curve to understand how to use it. I did not find it intuitive in the least. But I am truly amazed at the low cost and speed at which I was able to both deposit and withdraw. I spent a week buying and selling a little, I wonder how fast I could have gone from deposit to withdraw had I just bought one order and immediately attempted the withdraw.Takes awhile to figure out but if you are a USA resident, want a cheap and easy way to buy some crypto, definitely worth a look.P.S. - I both started a ticket and a chat when attempting to withdraw the btc to my ledger, as the platform said my USD withdraw was pending. I was scared it wouldn’t work. But it was just they way they do it. Very complicated in some ways. Submitting the ticket said it would be up to 7 days to get a response so I started a chat. Took about an hour for representative to come online but she was helpful. I had an email a few hours later from support answering my ticket question. So customer service was adequate.

Explain to me how a world on crypto would be better in our current situation.

I'm a huge advocate for crypto and have always defended it when discussing with other people.I am struggling to find an answer to the question on why a world using crypto would be better than the current cash system we are using today to handle the pandemic. For example Aus has just announced a 130b package to support workers who have lost their jobs. I'm assuming they are printing money daily to handle this crisis. Also America's plan to inject trillions into the economy. Can someone smarter than me explain how this situation would have been handled with crypto or why crypto would be the better choice. Thanks heaps for the replies!

I work as a mechanical engineer / project manager performing major overhauls on nuclear plant systems. I have degrees in Chemical and Nuclear engineering, but I spend the vast amount of my personal life researching crypto, financial policy, and the future of money.

As comfy as my current role is, it's simply not something I have passion for. I pour my all into my work and have taken units from emergency shutdown to full power after months of emergency work, and kept them operational, yet just dont feel fulfilled because my heart wants to work with what I have a passion for: crypto and finance. Is there any way to transition from the role I currently have to a role in a crypto startup or already well established crypto company such as coinbase. Where could my skills be utilized? Im ready for a career change, am willing to live anywhere, and would love to work with my passions. I have led projects of hundreds of men, but software development is much different than tearing a powerplant apart and putting it back together. Is this a pipe dream of mine or is it possible to work in crypto with my background? Also, this is not solicitation for jobs. I have an incredible job. I would just rather work in the field that is my passion and am wondering if others think it could be feasible given my background.

Discussion of the Day: Icon ICX

-Today's Crypto of the Day is Icon ICX, and it's current price is $0.2071.-Initially, since my first crypto of the day post on 2/18/20, I waited to post specific information on each project until people made posts. I waited to help prevent bias. Based on feedback, I now post information early to show I am not going for low effort posts, and actually trying to facilitate qualify discussions. Please feel free to search for my other posts, to see the information I and others have added.-So far, I have featured all 20 crypto from Coinbase, 26 from Coinbase Pro, and 5 from Gemini. I now plan to finish the remaining ones on Binance US, Kraken, and others. Just because I feature a project does not mean I like it. I feel discussion on bad projects are just as important as the good ones. It is useful to hear pros and cons about every project, even if you are simply playing devils advocate.-These posts are not meant to be financial advice, but instead to be an educational discussion. Everyone is responsible for doing their own research. For each project, I am interested in learning if you have any investment in it, and if so, about what percentage of your portfolio does it carry. Most importantly, what should we all know; good, bad, and indifferent, about this project?-My challenge to each of you is to learn and post about projects you do not currently hold. It is easy for anyone to shill a coin they are trying to make a profit on, or to simply downvote and troll something they do not. As a community, let's all try to encourage intellectual discussion on any and all projects out there. We can all learn a lot from each other if we try...

A Letter to the the community: We are opening a worm hole of new attacks and exploits if we don't treat HTTP sites exactly like compromised ones. Companies in the space: I know you like ro move domains--Do not let SSL certificates expire

I recently was using Math wallet looking for a DEX through it's DAPP store thing (pretty cool btw) and i came across one that described itself as "The biggest EOS DEX" so when i went to install it, i was met with an SSL error. https://ift.tt/3dG6gIc This DAPP i now plan to interact with could have me at its mercy should someone MITM attack me. Imagine the people going to a conference, hearing about this via word of mouth, goes back to the hotel to install it but falls victim to an attack on the hotel wifi, which is SIMPLE to do.MITM attacks have not had the biggest effect in terms of the world of scamming bitcoins. Google TOTP greatly increases the skill barrier for anyone wanting to withdraw funds using the sole token they received from the initial phished login (and has to be within 30 seconds too). I have seen TOO many sites that switch domains/let subdomains go unaccounted for and it will create a systematic risk for anyone who is on the more business/social side of bitcoin. I find this most often with download links, backend api's (which luckily get blocked most of the time by chrome), and old pre migration domains. If hackers know that they can manage to MITM at least one person for their accounts value (in this case you entire eos account) at a conference where people are very likely to own large amounts, they will go. If this remains exploitable, IT WILL BE EXPLOITED. It's very likely this has led to loss before but the cause isn't tracked down. You can say "Verify hashes" or "Pay attention" all day long but the downside to leaving pages lake this up is a whole lot more than simply updating your certificates. We do not want a world where people will be following you around staying in your hotels as you travel for business because they know you are likely to fall trap to one of these links through your daily activities. Basically i'm saying if we allow a little bit of leeway, we will finally cross a barrier where it makes sense for criminals to follow around rich crypto people waiting till they visit their MITM link. at that point we now have a force on our hands we are not equipped to deal with as the criminal may possibly get frustrated and decide on more direct means considering the fact that he is now close to you physically.Call it a non-issue or whatever but it takes so little effort to fix can we please make sure to check legacy links. Thanks. I hope this gets received in good faith and i dont mean to call out findex because they're far from alone.

Why it is more likely for BTC to fizzle out and practically die than not

After yesterday, it is now officially more likely than not, according to technical analysis, that BTC will likely fizzle out and practically die in the very long term (next decade):I understand that this comment will elicit emotional reactions, but hear me out. Here are my arguments. If you want to rebut these arguments, feel free to respond, although I expect many of the responses to be "Ha, another BTC will die post, bottom signal guys, time to buy!"We confirmed a death cross on the 2D chart. This has always resulted in at minimum a 50% move down in BTC history. The last time this occurred was in the 6ks in 2018 and we ended up going to 3k.If 1. occurs, we will be back at 3k at the minimum. This is an 85% correction from the ATHThis point is most crucial. No asset in history has ever survived (and by survive I mean break ATH) long term where it experiences an a) 85+% correction and b) goes down to that same level. To expand on 3.), what do I mean by this? What I mean is that if we go to 3K, it will be the second time we experience a total of an 85% correction from the ATH back down to the same level. We have had corrections like this in other assets that have survived. For example, Amazon corrected to more than 80+% during the dot com crash. However, it did not crash back to the same level again. And this is a company that dominates online marketplaces with actual employees. In fact, you will find no example of any asset in history to have ever had an 80+% correction back to the same level relative to ATH (i.e. 3K is 85% down from 20K). If you can find a single chart, let me know. You won't. Every time this happened, the asset basically fizzled out. (i.e. series of lower highs over and over long term before it practically becomes worth zero). If you want a real life example of this, open the chart of your favorite shitcoin. Will it happen quickly? No. It could take a decade for all we know. Is it 100% sure that it will happen? No. You can't be 100% sure about anything. But it would be correct to say that it is now more likely for this to happen than for it not to happen.

Binance force selling the FTX tokens is very unethical.

On the 31st of March Binance is going to sell your FTX tokens on your behalf if you don't do it yourself, or if you don't withdraw the tokens from the exchange. This is very unethical because when exchanges normally delist a token they don't force sell them. They leave them in your wallet for you to withdraw much after the delisting. Binance is going to make a lot of people lose money with this action. We are talking about 95% of their initial buying price. They only gave people 4 days notice. This is unprecedented. Even when they wanted to delist BSV they gave people more than 3 months to withdraw https://ift.tt/2UqXDJT But for some unknown reason they will actually force you into a loss after only 4 days notice. You may be ill, you may be too busy to find out, you may not have a place to withdraw the tokens; Binance doesn't care. And they will give you their own Binance USD token for it!

Why nobody is talking about the scam Enigma team pulled?

They created a new coin (scrt/secret) in their mainnet. But they are refusing to swap Eng tokens with new SCRT tokens. And they preminted their new SCRT tokens and distribruted it to validators. Right now ENG tokens haven't any function or value. They only accepted to pay ico investors their money (SEC agreement). I am baffled why everyone is silent about their action. İsn't this one of the most fraudulent thing ever happened in crypto market?

PLEASE BEWARE - 14,000 XRP stolen from Ledger

I feel so embarrassed.…TLDR:I have watched our xrp transfer from our account to an account that is currently holding over $2.5 million in xrp. This is clearly a large operation. Details below:Use to see: https://ift.tt/2JisVfX account: rfSYXEwYre349J3tBUhPvcawU5F2EGVN9aThe account that stole our xrp: r9sGt5vtxFcSfK2xwX3HxAMWTPTHo1ZLEgThe whale it was transferred to: rwpMvfxoodXggJ1g4qv6MWAPQqWDwQyHUWThe Chrome app is no longer live. I have however seen it re-uploaded this morning and have reported it. If you do a search for Ledger in the Chrome Store tomorrow morning I am sure you will see it there. Original links to said app:https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ledger-wallet/pbilbjpkfbfbackdcejdmhdfgeldakkn?utm_source=chrome-ntp-iconhttps://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ledger-live/opmelhjohnmenjibglddlpmbpbocohck/related?utm_source=chrome-ntp-icon…I’m self isolated as I am one of the many victims of Covid-19. I’m confined to a room in our house while my husband who is a key worker, continues to leave for work each day during the UK’s first lockdown. He’s an absolute hero, but I desperately wish our circumstances where different. I desperately wish I could just hug him.I have little but a laptop to keep me sane during the day at the minute, so I am frequenting Reddit often and keeping an eye on the crypto markets. Due to the situation right now money is tight, however I had worked out that by consolidating a few of our other crypto I would be able to recoup around 20% of our losses to help.We have our xrp stored in an offline Ledger Nano. The keywords are stored in a separate location and I knew never to divulge them to a 3rd party. Why I ended up doing just that, I can’t explain or understand. I can only put it down to the constant fever brought on by the virus. Believe me guys, this isn’t like flu!So… I begin the day by selling a load of our other crypto currency for bitcoin, sold some to help us and I then consolidate the remaining into xrp. I then load up our Ledger. It’s been a while since I last accessed our Ledger (2018), and have since changed my computer. I recalled the Ledger having a Chrome extension and this is when the scam starts. The only ledger extension on the Chrome store is one by the name of “Ledger Wallet” or “Ledger Live”. It claims to be from Ledger.com ® or Ledger Official ® and for all intents and purposes looks legitimate. It even had over 70 positive 4-5 star reviews, ranging from “Its a little difficult to operate” to “once I understood what to do it was easy”.Once you download the Chrome extension, it will ask for the version of Ledger you are using, followed by a screen prompting you to fill in your full set of keywords.I sat there typing each keyword out, double checking each one and not once did I think that this app wasn’t legitimate. I feel so very stupid. The app didn’t appear to work, so I downloaded a trusted wallet instead. I thought nothing of it and continued. At this point our Ledger contained 14,908 xrp. My husband and I had built this up as our nest egg since 2017.As I started to look into transferring the small amount of xrp I had recouped that morning, out of the corner of my eye, I watched as 14,889.740739 xrp vanished from our account. The entire process took less than 8 minutes.Due to the virus and shock, I believe I may have then fainted. I cant be sure.I have since reset the ledger, filed a report with Ripple, the FBI and my local Fraud Police. My husband has been ridiculously understanding. He says its just money and right now our focus should be on getting better / staying safe. I feel devastated.I apologise for how long this post is. I guess I wanted to vent a little too. I’m so upset and fully anticipate getting trolled to death, but I wanted to alert you all of this scam as best I could...I hope you are all staying safe during this time x

A simple argument behind why I think BTC will fizzle out in the long term

I have had a running thesis that I think is still true. I have been posting about this thesis for many years on reddit and so far the price action has been proving me right. For those who haven't been following my comments over the years, here is my thesis:BTC's entire run up was caused by speculative buying that is common in bubbles. It will always remain to be a speculative and hype driven asset given that the fundamental reason most people are still buying it is to hope for a better price. It is not being bought for any real world transactional use, or for any other fundamental reasonGiven greater fool theory, bubbles will continue for BTC until saturation in demand hits (i.e. no fools left). The maximum saturation for any bubble is when mainstream media interest has peaked and the average Joe has heard about BTC. This occurred in December 2017.Many would counter this saying "but we had a bubble in 2014 too, and it went back up". Yes, but it never reached mainstream media interest. The average Joe around you wasn't talking about BTC even then. Given that the entire run up was caused by hype and speculation, this is extremely important.Since we've peaked mainstream interest, new buyers won't feel the same rush of adrenaline they once got buying early. It is impossible for someone to feel like they're early on buying something if that something is already known. This is extremely important for hype driven assets. Thus, BTC will in the long term (we're talking many years) make lower highs over and over, and then fizzle out.Every time I have posted this thesis, over the last two years, there are almost no counter arguments and people just get emotional and refuse to engage. So far, the price action has proven me right, and I suspect it'll continue to do so.

Seriously, newbs: Coinbase gain/loss reports are not accurate for taxes if you transferred your coins into Coinbase Pro. Pro really does mean you'd better be ready to go pro (including in your handling of the taxes).

Pro traders already know this and are trading enough volume to justify the cost of third party tax calculation services, but it's easy for a casual to think it would be fun to move their meager amount of coins into Coinbase Pro, do a few dozen transactions of partial amounts over the year, and then find themselves having to do tax preparation by either paying a service (which, for a casual, can cost more than the net gains from trading) or calculating manually (which can be multiple entries per transaction since a transaction of partial coins will likely involve multiple different cost bases). If you're not truly going pro, don't try to fool yourself into thinking the "pro" platform would be better.Source: butthole hurts from trying to do taxes

A made a Cryptocurrency tracking spreadsheet complete with live crypto price updates, moon math, and a full history of your Portfolio and trading performance (fixed).

I have posted this previously however since then coinmarketcap have changed their api. This version has a workaround for that - with the downside that it takes much longer to fetch price data. You will need to be patient when opening the file and when you press the price refresh button. This is a spreadsheet that I have developed for myself gradually over the last couple years. I have found it very helpful for keeping track of my bitcoin holdings (great for tax purposes). No need to trust third party apps to keep your personal information - track it yourself. There is a lot in here including;Automatically updates prices from coinmarketcap. The top 200 coins included. Just select which ones you want to track by typing in the name. You can even choose your local Fiat currency and get live conversion rates for any country.https://ift.tt/3awmEJe don't need to record details of every trade. Just keep track of your crypto purchases (from fiat) and what coins you currently hold. The spreadsheet will calculate the rest and keep a record of how your portfolio and holdings have changed over time (it logs this data every time you save the sheet)https://ift.tt/33LqbB3 find this very handy to see if your trading is actually profitable compared to the HODL method.https://ift.tt/2QITxKT yes and there are plenty of 'moon math' and analytics to see how bitcoin is trending. This includes a full history of bitcoins price which updates every time you open the sheet.https://ift.tt/2wtvEQY version has some bug fixes and a few new features including a 'Stock to flow' price prediction model;https://ift.tt/2UPNTIv download from here. Instructions inside. You will need macros enabled if you want it to do the fancy stuff.https://ift.tt/2xrGjvg me know if you have any issues.

Discussion of the Day: Siacoin SC

-Today's Crypto of the Day is SiaCoin SC, and it's current price is $0.0013.-Initially, since my first crypto of the day post on 2/18/20, I waited to post specific information on each project until people made posts.

IOTA funds were stolen (3.49Ti ~500k$) on 12th March 2020 after network relaunch [longread]

Hey CC comunity!First of all, sorry for posting it a bit late I have some serious changes in my lifestyle and business due to Coronavirus situation in the world. For those who are infected I wish to get well soon and all the rest to stay safe and to stay home. Here is my short story:On March 12th I made similar but short post regarding my stolen IOTA in the sub r/IOTA. First of all I met around 50% downvotes, I don’t know why but it seems that IOTA’s community don’t want to see posts regarding stolen IOTA, I got a lot of critics for using Trinity wallet instead of hardware and so on. But I see nothing strange using desktop wallet and it doesn’t matter whether it is IOTA Trinity or Bitcoin QT or Ethereum wallet unless in has strong manually typed password, VPN connection and some other security things. Or maybe IOTA’s community was afraid of unwanted bad attention during that market crash that day. So because of that experience I decided to make a post here at r/CC.Some short reminder of what happened before my funds got stolen (https://ift.tt/2Jau88P news:https://ift.tt/2UwiIlh you don’t want to read that news here are some facts with timestamp:February 12th 2020 - 18:55As a precaution we ask you to keep your Trinity wallet closed for now.February 12th 2020 - 19:20After initial investigation we decided to turn off the Coordinator to make sure no further theft can occur until we find out the root cause of these thefts. (Lets say: “blockchain stopped”)February 14th 2020 - 17:50We have found the exploit.February 15th 2020 - 00:50After successfully identifying the attack on Trinity through a third-party integrationFebruary 17th 2020 - 02:23We have just released a safe version of Trinity Desktop to allow users to check their balance and transactions. This version (1.4.1) removes the vulnerability announced on 12th February 2020. (I’ve installed this particular version)February 21st 2020 - 18:43ACTION MAY BE REQUIRED TO PROTECT YOUR TOKENS IN TRINITY.February 24th I left my country for some working tripFebruary 26th 2020 - 13:10We are currently in the testing phase of the migration tools, once testing completes the tools will be audited by a external party. If this all goes well we are aiming to release these tools later this week.February 29th 2020 - 19:15The Seed Migration Tool is now available.March 6th 2020 - 15:17REMINDER: You have until 5PM (UTC), Saturday, 7th March to migrate your seed.I’m still out of the country but I’m pretty sure I’m safe coz I’ve installed 1.4.1 wallet which removes the vulnerability.March 8th 2020 - 18:15The migration period has ended.I got back to my countryMarch 10th 2020 - 16:45We are aiming to resume value transactions around 5PM CET today.March 10th 2020 - 18:15The network coordinator has resumed operation. (Let’s say “blockchain restarted”)Now my turn:My balance by that time (https://ift.tt/39jodsB 10thI’ve decided to send my IOTA to exchange until I buy Hardware wallet and sort it out how it worksTest transaction to exchange 5Gi:JQ9DZPGUFLBJTLDLIKQBWLUBOXJULKIQFSWKNYVFIHETSZJOTGRYEZZELE9BZFVUEBGATEITPDTXXHZVDIt took exchange 24 hours to credit it to my balance…March 11thFirst large transaction to the exchange (~23% of my net holdings of IOTA) 1Ti9YGGTHDKARCBVEPWUYURYEAKSKUNITGCGKSCJRXBVKHLBHEXXTNAWOFNPOBGHG9IKCZRABFNBJHVWNZIZAll over again… 24h to credit it to my balance.March 12thI’ve opened my Trinity wallet and found out that money were stolen 3.4TiPOUBLIDSDZSNLKYBHVDAAEGVKGZ9PGKCBKRGUKEKIUQGSEWZNBQCHLLKIAZKEYHJVGJD9GYHT9JJNY9VWscreenshot of transaction with stolen IOTA (https://ift.tt/3bq45Xx performed transactions (https://ift.tt/2WEw41f day I’ve made first post on reddit to get some attention to the happened situation. At the same time I’ve start to search for some technical support through over official telegram groups:iotatangle(https://imgur.com/McmrF3L)I’ve send a message where I’ve stated that my funds were stolen after network relaunch. Got some response from user Basti he invited me to another group with general discussion.screen shot 1 (https://ift.tt/2WCxPvU shot 2 (https://ift.tt/3arsvzu short dialogue continued at the general discussion group iotacafe(https://ift.tt/3dpjcC5) Where Basti introduced me to the IOTA Foundation member Antonio Nardella (https://ift.tt/3bpZy7w I started my conversation with Antonio I decide to get some information about him. I’ve found a Medium post with some welcoming words to Antonio Nardella.(https://ift.tt/2vK2HQa) telegram(https://ift.tt/2QGIguN) mediumSeems legit.Of course I couldn't be 100% sure it was him but the information he asked for wasn’t really sensitive so decided to share all I knew and all I did.(https://ift.tt/3ahdhNz) He also mentioned a wallet integrated service MoonPay, whether I used the wallet with this service or not and it didn’t matter if I used the service it self.I’ve informed him that I used 1.4.1 wallet which was recommended to install on February 17th 2020(https://ift.tt/2WDy7mh he gathered all the necessary information regarding loss of funds he took the time for sending this information for investigation team. After a long awaited answer I got the same day this:“Hello, I was informed that the loss of tokens is associated to the person/team responsible for the Trinity wallet attack via a third-party dependency from Moonpay. As suggested on https://ift.tt/2OPbK8E, please file a report with the local police and to cite the following case number when doing so: LKA Berlin, Center for Cybercrime, case number: 200213-1717-i00290.”(https://ift.tt/3djendA, reinstalling the wallet didn't help me to avoid the loss of funds.Well if my funds are proved to be stolen then it means - yes, I’ve used the Trinity wallet between the December 17th 2019 and the February 17th 2020. And yes, I wasn’t able to make seed transition during the given period. I was out of the country starting form Feb 24th till March 8th. I can even proove it with my border passing stamps… You know I didn’t use to take 4.5Ti with me just in case I would need an urgent seed transition. Could you imagine thousands of people with their multimillion Bitcoin holdings carrying private keys everyday with them just in case they would need seed transition… The funds were stolen not by my mistake but IOTA developers/foundation/etc (lets say IOTA team) mistake. At the end of my story I want to take your attention to the fact that I didn’t compromise my PC neither wallet nor password nor seed. All my fault was for using the desktop wallet… How can you imagine your user without using your software/services/etc… I want to publicly call IOTA team (especially mr David Sonstebo) to cover not only those which were to happen back in the Feb 2020 but all the loses which were caused by that wallet vulnerability. (https://ift.tt/2vKONxb for reading and thanks for your time!

BTC continues to rise, why?

I posted a few days ago... maybe a week asking this question or something similar.Seemed like everyone was divided at that time. Now what? Are you buying, selling, hanging tight for now? Why?I personally have still just been chilling on the sidelines in crypto. I did makes some moves in stock though. My guess, which is very much a guess, is that we are going to see btc drop to 4k again in the next month... if not lower. I’ll probably start buying sub 5k as that happens. I could see it going lower than the 3.2k but not for long. I’m not trying to time the bottom. I’m just trying to avoid getting rolled over by 🐳.What are other people thinking?TLDR: Last time people got mad at even asking this question because they say no one knows. That’s a really good point. I’d suggest getting out of this thread considering no one needs you here and you’re not interested in what anyone is saying.

I'm building a DeFi lego platform. Hope to hear some feedback.

Hi guys,I'm working on a project that is built for DeFi users. Basically, this is a platform where users can put multiple strategies across different DeFi protocols into one transaction. If you’ve heard about DeFiZap, imagine this tool allows you to create your own Zap and also put different Zaps together into one tx. So for example, say you have some ethers, and you wanna invest them in Uniswap ETH/DAI pool and supply USDC on Compound. To make this happen, you will:Swap a portion of ETH to DAI (now you have ETH + DAI)Swap a portion of ETH to cUSDC (now you have ETH + DAI + cUSDC)Add ETH and DAI to Uniswap poolSupply USDC to CompoundWith our solution, user can package step 1-4 into one transaction.Visit Uniswap -> skippedVisit Compound -> skippedSign tx four times -> skipped three and only sign onceUsers can create any DeFi combo as they wish. This is just one example to demonstrate the idea. The core value of our project is to provide flexibility for users to combine different DeFi strategies and save their time & gas. Currently, creating customized DeFi combo into one transaction is only possible if you know how to code. We want to break the barrier of coding skill so that users can focus on creating DeFi strategies. This is our first test transaction for reference. https://ift.tt/2xWXTHS are working on the smart contract at the moment. Frontend is coming soon. What do you think about this platform? Any feedback is appreciated.

Exchanges in NY state

I would like to dip a toe into crypto trading but it seems NY state has laws that mean Coinbase and Gemini are the only exchanges available to NY State residents. How can I pull it off.Any criticism or praise for coinbase or Gemini.

Traditional assets are crashing, people losing faith in banks / governments / stocks / oilPeople looking for other places to park their money.Remember how much money there is in this world. https://ift.tt/2QDl3tc think about how big gambling is, Vegas, Macau etc. Then there is all the online gambling.World gambling statistics show that around 26% of the population gamble.https://ift.tt/39b4Thh of old people (sadly) will be die, money then going to the younger, more tech savvy. The older generations like physical assets like gold and silver, they can see it, hold it. Understand it.Younger people are Much more digital and collect digital assets like Pokemon go or achievements on steam. And then there is the self isolation... What do you do when you're self isolated? Turn to technology.

Discussion of the Day; VeChain VET

-Today's Crypto of the Day is VeChain VET, and it's current price is $0.0026.-Initially, since my first crypto of the day post on 2/18/20, I waited to post specific information on each project until people made posts.

The Steem blockchain now is centralized under one person - Please stay away!

Pretty much what the title says. Since the community forked away from Steem and started the Hive blockchain, all witnesses on Steem are controlled and elected by Justin Sun.You can check the witnesses (block producers) here: https://ift.tt/2WCoDHZ people running 22.5 are Justin Sun's sock puppets. On the Steemit frontend, Justin already started hiding posts that speak critically about him. He also blocked a list of 10 accounts completely, of which 9 accounts are ex-witnesses. Additionally to that he started downvoting critical posts with 20% of the whole coin supply (Not the staked supply, but the total coin supply). He eliminates up to 300$ of rewards with a single downvote.https://ift.tt/2J80PE6 of him supporters now demand to fork out the stake of people that switched to Hive. They not only want to freeze it but completely delete it. And Sun has the power to do that. Please stay away from this chain if you believe in decentralization or free speech.

Charlie Lee vs. Senators!!!

Charlie lee:made his best guess on timing the top. Sold his coins and informed the general public. Then warned of a coming bear market. He did what any bag holder would do. Make a decision like everyone else and execute. It's not like some executives met with him in a closed door and said this is the top. Dump it. If it was at $40 people wouldnt be so mad. People are literally only mad because he got lucky on timing the top and they didnt, that's jealously.‐-------Senators:received insider info and sold at the top. Did not tell anyone ever. We have a valid reason to hate these people.

Discussion of the Day; Monero XMR

-Today's Crypto of the Day is Monero XMR, and it's current price is $38.62.-Initially, since my first crypto of the day post on 2/18/20, I waited to post specific information on each project until people made posts.

Just because both crypto and the stock market crashed during a global pandemic that does not mean they are suddenly correlated.

Crypto is non-correlating to the stock market. It is NOT a negative correlating to the stock market.Negative correlation to the stock market would mean bitcoin goes up when the stock market goes down. That is not the case for crypto and the stock market, for the most part they make moves independently but sometimes have correlation during a major events like a global pandemic. In this case a global event has caused almost ALL markets to crash. The only safe haven would be negative correlating assets of which crypto is not.More on non-correlating assets: https://ift.tt/2TYjV4t crypto fundamentals have not changed. Once the panic is over expect the fundamentals to be a driving factor of price. See these fundamental reports on digital assets: https://ift.tt/2TtYNEE

HIVE - the worlds first decentralized social media network

Hey everyone, what a crazy past few weeks it’s been for anyone following Steem. I am sure many people are confused as to what exactly is going on so I’ve decided I would share with you some of my perspective. I have been a long time Steem user over the past 4 years and have never been more excited than I am now for the community. Its moving in a direction it should have long ago...in my opinion Hive will be the worlds first truly decentralized blockchain based social media network and it will be launching this (3/20/2020) morning at 7AM PST. HIVE will be airdropped 1:1 to all Steem accounts.Steem will finally be freeing itself entirely from the centralized controlling stake of Steemit inc. Personally I’ve always had an issue with the 60 million+ Steemit Inc stake and that’s what kept me away from taking a larger investment position in the network. Tomorrow after the community fork that stake will finally be gone. The development of the Hive Network and its ecosystem will be sustained via the DHF; Decentralized Hive Fund. The Hive Social Network will enable users to post and share content that is stored in a decentralized manner. This will enable people to share and voice an opinion online that no 3rd party can censor or control. During these perilous times on our planet a free network like this is needed more than ever. Centralized platforms like Facebook have been increasingly censoring our free speech. They have been hindering humanities ability to reach its full potential online. The Hive Network will enable humans to communicate and share content in a truly free and decentralized manner.HIVE is a fork of the Steem blockchain with no central company behind it. 100% open source community backed without the Steemit inc corporate controlling stake. This is history in the making folks and over the next few weeks I expect massive developments in this blockchain based social media sector to occur. hive.io , hive.blog #hivemind

Binance holds my USDT

I don’t know where else to turn, but this is my story. It has been ongoing since the 28 of January.I think it was January 27th I was trading on the futures platform. I had made 3 different trades on Ethereum Classic, I was overextended. However I thought my order would definitely be filled. Well I stayed up through the night and my order hadn’t filled.January the 28th at 10:03 I closed all my positions and open orders. At 10,4 this was a big loss, however I was about to just fall asleep from exhaustion. I hadn’t traded on the futures platform for very long, but I screenshotted my closed order and a few seconds later I got a message, too many request try again. I found this odd and screenshotted this right after.Well after this I closed the app and watched one YouTube video and took a power nap. I woke up 4 hours later. I was being bombarded with messages of a liquidation, I found this odd, since I had nothing to worry about I took my time to log back in. I logged back in and I see that my position is still open me worried, and now in full panic mode closed the open positions.Initially I had no idea what had happened, I thought somehow my orders were opened by someone else remotely, or maybe someone hacked my account.I contacted support and they couldn’t provide me with any information they also had no clue, which made the situation way more confusing than it should have been. I also didn’t know what screenshots they required from me, I really didn’t know where the issue stemmed from.I was enlightened, by customer support they told me that it might have been a display issue. However at this point I didn’t know where my screenshots had gone so I couldn’t provide much proof, I just assumed binance would trust a customer. They didn’t.Well luckily 9 weeks back I was searching within my ICloud and I was blessed with the screenshots I took, when my order should have been cancelled. At this point I have undisputed proof. It shows that I closed my positions and that there were no open positions anymore. I also finally knew where it had gone wrong, I thought maybe I can be reimbursed for this as I was 100% not in the wrong. However even with all the proof, they told me that there was no display issue and wanted to gift me 3bnb. The amount that I lost is 12031USDT short of that. I found this ridiculous that even with all the proof I provided, they denied me a reimbursement. It is as close as filming the event as I could get. What can I do, what should I do?

The current situation is where a decentralised currency would fail

I see a lot of people mentioning that the current global pandemic, which results in the government printing money to pump into the economy, is what bitcoin was intended for. It’s not false that you can use bitcoin as a hedge against the resulting fiat inflation the government’s actions cause, but the current situation also makes it very clear why a decentralised currency would fail to serve the people during something like a global pandemic. If we would not interfere with the economy right now, businesses would go bankrupt very fast. People would not get paid anymore and would be unable to buy food and basic necessities. The whole system would come crashing down resulting in absolute mayhem which would mean even more deaths. But because fiat is centralised, we can prevent this from happening. The side effect is inflation which sucks a bit for people with savings, but since a global pandemic affects everyone, we all lose a bit here.If we would have transitioned from fiat to a decentralised currency by now, we would not have had the option to save our precious system and have the foresight that things will be normal again if this blows over. A global pandemic combined with a decentralised currency system would result in utter disaster. It is where our ideals would fail terribly.Decentralisation is needed/beneficial in a lot of areas, but I think the past few weeks have taught us it won’t be able to replace the monetary system due to possible situations like this.

Hydro (HYDRO) project. Be careful buying in.

So, long story short. The company behind the token Hydro, a for-profit named Hydrogen, is the company who launched Hydro and minted the tokens. They hold 6b tokens, half of the supply. They use token holders as a cash cow. The selling won’t stop until price is completely underground, as for them it’s free money.A word of advice about buying this token. Be careful, the website is nice, the project seems good too and might actually be, but those holding the big supply use tokens as their own ATM machine in a completely dried out market.Might be successful in the long run, who knows. But, watch out, don’t be the ones that will pay for their expenses when they decide to dump again.projecthydro . org

Discussion of the Day; NEO

-Today's Crypto of the Day is NEO, and it's current price is $5.53.-Initially, since my first crypto of the day post on 2/18/20, I waited to post specific information on each project until people made posts.
