Is there a reason YouTube allows bitcoin scammers to own the top spaces every day?

If you search bitcoin on YouTube and sort by date uploaded the first 5+ results are always scam streams (with thousands of viewers) pretending to be celebrity give aways. How long has this been the case, and why doesn’t anyone really talk about it? I tried searching bitcoin scammers and there aren’t really any bitcoin youtubers talking about it either.

I want to break (even) free!

So...I'm invested in crypto since July 2017.At some point, my all time high was around x11 my investment, mostly invested in XLM (80% of my portfolio back then, less today), but everything went down when the fire nation attacked. For the past years, I was able to manage to stay above the line and it was only until a few months ago that my portfolio turned red (around December or so). But it never went down 70-ish percent. I was down 30/40% top. Then the pandemic hit us hard, and I decided to invest some more, even if I was in the red. Because you know, it's generally during the crisis that you need to invest your spare money, hoping for better days. Then the US decided to print money (and it went brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr). And today, I'm finally back in the green, and I hope it will keep going that way some more.Going through those years was quite challenging, and the only advice I would give myself today would be not to be too greedy and cash out (or actually spend!) some of the benefits at a given limit. It may well keep growing for years (and I'm sold to this idea considering the world we're in), but cryptocoins are meant to be used and spent.(And watch out for Vega coming soon on the stellar network! )

Just learned how claiming losses on crypto works and it is pure evil.

If you lose 100% of an asset because it is lost or stolen, the latest tax law disallows you from claiming any loss whatsoever. But if you still have the coins and they have 90% of their value, you can sell them and claim a loss. What in the actual fuck? I guess I am going to go restock whatever worthless shitcoins I used to have so I can pretend that I never lost them and then sell them so I can show the IRS how I lost money on the coins that I lost. Fucking crazy.

SegWit on the bitcoin network has experienced negative adoption for the past 4 months. From 57% to 49% and currently still decreasing.

Honestly so many people fought over this to get this added over 2 mb block sizes and we had so many talks over how this would immediately solve the transaction fee problem and it never did.I cant really understand how this is just a major flaw in bitcoin no one seems to point out. Its not transaction fees, its not adoption, its the fact that we keep delaying the potential of this blockchain and implemented solutions that are just big IF's. Yeah call me a bcasher or something I never owned any bch in the past 3 years since the chainsplit. Call me a nano shill or something cause I pointed out a chain works better than an off chain solution tied to a slug.Honestly I just believe its that we cant make any good decisions and so tribalism and ready to jump each other for even bringing up certain possible ideas/solutions. This will ultimately heavily delay crypto adoption.source : https://ift.tt/2yb5V0m

Binance accidentally took 12061,48 and won’t give it back!

background on the 28th of January I happend to be trading on the futures platform. Due to a mistake by binance my orders weren’t executed and I was liquidated.Well I opened a ticket demanding back my funds. After a couple months of mails every 2 or 3 days. Binance denied everything and weren’t giving back the money, so I opened another ticket. This time I didn’t ask for a refund up front. Binance straight up told me it was their mistake and that they would compensate me 3bnb. Well I didn’t take that well, so I asked for my full amount back.Binance went in to a defensive mode and decided mixing up different cases would settle the issue. (Binance had messed up again and I lost 3600 USDT, so they compensated me 1018 USDT) they told me they had already compensated me and that I shouldn’t ask for more. When I called them out on the fact that the cases weren’t related, they told me they weren’t going to give me the 12061.48 USDT back anyway.I pointed out that by admitting their mistake in this ticket they broke their own policy. It states that Binance has to execute a trade. After I mentioned this they went silent, I have bugged support every 2 days, but I have not received anything as of yet and it has been almost a month.I wanted more people to know as Binance is the biggest in the industry, and they bury the negative very easily. I need your help in demanding an answer for Binance her mistakes. My ticket number is 2618472 My case handler was mainly CS Paul

Lightning Network Pls Explain

Hi CC,I've been consuming everything available about the LN but it's unbelievably hard to follow.I'm lost in the following few arguments and can't tell which way is up or down:Some arguments say "why build a second layer to a crypto when you already have XYZ Coin that could do that x-years ago?" (or moreover, why not do what ETH did and consider adopting BCH as a data layer) (NOTE: I'm not advocating for ETH or BCH just merely using it as an example). Some arguments say LN makes BTC more centralized and out of line with the original intention of BTC (and more in-line with the current banking system structure). Some arguments say LN is slow, unreliable and untrustworthy. (Stories of lost BTC).A combo of the 2nd and 3rd points, some arguments suggest nodes can bias and charge more for messaging than other nodes but as a layman user one always wants the lowest fees there is no way a one can get "best execution" and figure this out, therefore, it seems like cartel'ing of nodes could be done to skew profits.Again, similar to the 1st point, why not change the MB block limit on BTC seeing as we're headed in the direction of quantum computing in the next couple of decades if not sooner. A Megabyte limit in a Terabyte/soon-to-be-Petabyte world seems sloppy. This would dampen the need for any second layers and beyond.I'm not arguing against LN -- I honestly have no idea what to think as LN is so opaque.I was wondering if there were any people who know more about LN and can cover both sides of the main arguments for-and-against LN; what the challenges are; what the potential is; and is it really worth everyone's time to develop something that BTC was originally intending to solve anyway?I appreciate it as I (and I'm sure many others) would love to learn more about it.

Helicopter Money, Inflation, and the Bitcoin Standard

The 2008 Financial Crisis set the stage for Bitcoin’s creation. The COVID-19 economic shock will set the stage for Bitcoin to shine as a store of value, hedge against inflation, and hard money.Governments around the world are printing money, cutting interest rates, and responding in a similar fashion to how they did to the 70s oil shock, which led to high inflation. Meanwhile, Bitcoin is undergoing quantitative tightening and its inflation rate is being cut in half through the May halving. For a deeper dive, please check out this research report I wrote. Discussion of the Day: Quant QNT

-Today's Crypto of the Day is Quant QNT, and it's current price is $4.98.DUE TO SOME PERSONAL ISSUES, I AM TEMPORARILY BEHIND ON FOLLOW UP POSTS. I WILL EVENTUALLY CATCH UP AND POST MY OPINIONS ON ALL OF THEM. I AM NOT TRYING TO MAKE LOW EFFORT POSTS AND WILL DO MY BEST TO POST A NEW DISCUSSION DAILY FOR A WHILE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING. -Since 2/18/20, I have posted a crypto/asset of the day for discussion.  I typically begin by posting the current price, as well as the brief CoinMarketCap summary. If there is a video featuring it on Coin Bureau, I also post that. After a week or so, I usually post replies to some of the posts, and I also add an overall summary of my thoughts, if I plan to hold any, and is so how much. -I strongly encourage everyone to follow up on past discussions and you can still make comments on them. There is a lot of valuable information on many of these posts, so please check them out as you have time. You may learn a lot regarding some of these projects. I know I certainly did! https://ift.tt/2x5amJz first month or so I featured projects listed on some of the main exchanges. Now I plan to focus on the top 100 on CoinMarketCap. After that I expect to broaden to the top 200, and then some random moonshots. I will eventually create a post looking for any projects I should feature before I eventually close this project.-Just because I feature a project does not mean I like it. I feel discussion on bad projects are just as important as the good ones. It is useful to hear pros and cons about every project, even if you are simply playing devils advocate.-I would say a perfect reply would include at least one pro and at least one con for the project. However, I still feel it is acceptable if you post only pros or cons. If your post does not have any substance to it, "this coin is a scam", "avoid this shitcoin", "this coin will moon to $1000 by the end of 2020", then I will just assume you are posting for personal gain rather than helping the community.  If you simply downvote the post without any comments, the only thing you accomplish is having less people view the post. I do not care about Reddit Karma, but if a post drops to zero early on, it can be extremely difficult for people to even find these discussions (which I assume is your intention). -These posts are not meant to be financial advice, but instead to be an educational discussion. Everyone is responsible for doing their own research. For each project, I am interested in learning if you have any investment in it, and if so, about what percentage of your portfolio does it carry. Most importantly, what should we all know; good, bad, and indifferent, about this project?

Favorite coin under $10 million market cap?

Anyone like any projects that are actually legitimate micro caps? If it's over 10 million in market cap I'm not interested. What are you favorite micro caps? We all talk about the same coins over and over again and there's never anything new. What about the micros?

Help- I have never heard of Binance until this morning

I got an email to one of my main email accounts that I had registered an account with Binance, and it wants me to confirm registration. The account was made last night in Indonesia, and I live in the western USA. Is there any action I should take besides obviously not confirming the account? Why would someone want to sign me up for this? If someone wanted to buy crypto, why would they use someone else's email address? Any advice would be appreciated.Edit: This is the email I woke up to. The IP is based in Indonesia. I didn’t click the link to verify, I’m just wondering what other steps I should take. Email password has been changed already.

Is Brave Browser safe? Who/what is Uphold?

I was recently recommended this browser and after downloading it I really really like what I'm seeing. I've heard the name a fair bit around, but I just want to make sure it is as it claims. Also, while setting it up, it asked me to verify and then suddenly I was KYCing at some place called Uphold. I have no idea who Uphold is or why I was suddenly transferred there and asked to give my ID info, but it put me heavily on the defensive.Who the hell is Uphold? What is the relationship to Brave?I'm hoping some of you guys here can tell me if this is safe/legit or if there are any security concerns with Brave or Uphold.TIA

Want to know the annoying thing about bitcoin?

The annoying thing about bitcoin is when you really start believing in it, that is when you should sell.Make meee believe.. The thing is, fake as it may sound, i sold virtually the very top of this in Jan 2018, made more than I ever have investing in anything. (only 23 right now tho, no millions for you to steal). SO that is when all my friend were like "this is the future".I am a believer though because separating state and money is something logical to me. Also it's going be come less inflating than the dollar in 15 days. Nonetheless, I just looked at my history of buying, and I was buying right around FEB 9th LOL. THE PEAK. I got lucky once before and that made it all worth it, but a lot of times I buy because of fomo.Let's be real though. The real reason anyone buys a stock or investment is because they don't want to miss out on gains. Nobody buys a stock or adds to their portfolio when they think they're gonna lose money. I'm talking about money.

Investing $300 in crypto and looking to see what the great cryptocurrency forum has for advice.

First off, I know $300 sounds like nothing to a lot of people on here but I’m 16 so give me a break.I started an account with coinbase, sent the money to coin base pro to avoid fees and bought $75 in BTC, $75 in ETH, and $75 in XRP. I have $75 left.My question: Should I invest the $75 into a different crypto currency or in one I have already bought into.I’m obsessed with blockchain technology and the potential it holds, and I am so excited to be a part of this massive revolution! Thanks in advance for any advice and/or tips.

Hello everyone,I'm new to this subredidit. I've been involved in crypto for a number of years. I don't have a huge portfolio, but I'm really interested in the theory of blockchain and cryptoassets, including tokenomics and user experience in the dapp world. I've been working on a number of my own projects, on the Tron blockchain, and am always looking to network.

Discussion of the Day: DigiByte DGB

-Today's Crypto of the Day is DigiByte DGB, and it's current price is $0.0132.DUE TO SOME PERSONAL ISSUES, I AM TEMPORARILY BEHIND ON FOLLOW UP POSTS.

Illusion of Scarcity

One of the main aspects that makes fiat-money valuable, which has become painstakingly clear during this crisis, is the illusion of scarcity.Even though, the central banks could print enough money to feed the hungry and house the homeless tomorrow, they will never do it. Instead, they create endless amounts of new money as QE, to increase the wealth of the already wealthy, or as bailouts to bail them out when they have caused yet another crisis by inflating the financial debt bubble to its limits. They do it in this way, because keeping the poor in a state of perpetuated debt slavery, creates an illusion of scarcity of money. Because for the masses the money is still scarce. This illusion of scarcity of that money is amplified with the fact that the money is created as debt and there will never be enough to pay it back. The masses have to fight among each other in order to pay back their debts.Without this illusion fiat money would become worthless almost instantly.Hopefully people will now use this opportunity to see through these screens of smoke and free themselves from this illusion.Bitcoin does not suffer from this problem, as it is actually scarce by design. Luckily BCH still functions as an alternative to fiat, as peer-to-peer cash, or in short as money, like bitcoin was always meant to function.

HONEST QUESTION: Why do cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and BitcoinSV (BSV) have such a high value and marketcap?

*I am not hating on any cryptocurrencies. Just an honest question.I understand that all cryptocurrencies are mostly based on speculation, but my guess is when people are trading they are speculating on the possibilities of potential, fundamentals, and belief. For people that are invested in BCH and BSV, what are your reasons? Why not Bitcoin (BTC)? Or are you invested in both?I heard many people say its manipulated or only a few addresses own most of the supply. Even if that is the case, what is the reasons for users invested in those coins that aren't capable of profiting from these acts of manipulation.

Why do we want the block time to be consistent? Trying to understand the reason behind the need for difficulty.

I understand what difficulty does and how it works, but not WHY we need it. I understand that without changing difficulty, the speed with which a block is found is proportional to the number of miners, so instead we change the difficulty to counteract changes in number of miners (and thus keep the time between blocks roughly the same). What I don't understand is.....Why do we want a consistent block time? Why is it a bad thing if we had faster blocks due to more miners?I often see the block size debate, but instead of changing block size, couldn't we change block time to process more transactions in the same amount of time? Thanks for the explanation!

Everyone is responsible for doing their own research. For each project, I am interested in learning if you have any investment in it, and if so, about what percentage of your portfolio does it carry. Most importantly, what should we all know; good, bad, and indifferent, about this project?

My book 'Why cryptocurrencies?', which explains the usefulness of cryptocurrencies, is completed

After more than a year of writing a little here and there, my book Why cryptocurrencies? is now completed and it's available to read online for free.I started this project because I got tired of the misconceptions people had about cryptocurrencies, even in highly technical communities, and on the constant focus on the investment side instead of the possible utility and usefulness. The phrase that grinds my gears the most is how "there's no use-case for cryptocurrencies", which I hope to put to rest with this book. The book isn't aimed at any specific cryptocurrency, but on the potential of them as a whole and we'll cover topics such as:What money is and how cryptocurrencies might be the best money we've ever seenHow cryptocurrencies can compete against other digital payment systems with their low fees and irreversible transactionsThe importance of truly uncensorable donations and the problems with permissioned payment systemsHow cryptocurrencies might help you reclaim your financial privacyIf you're tired of the shenanigans of the central banks, cryptocurrencies represent an alternative financial systemThat you can build applications on top of cryptocurrencies, such as provably fair gambling or a timestamping service based on mathematics instead of social proof. While the online part of the book is finished, my plan is to take it easy a little while and then start working on an e-book and a paperback. (If you're aware of a way to provide a self-published paperback purchasable with cryptocurrencies, without me handling the distribution, please let me know!)If you enjoyed the book please help spread the word or consider donating.

Monero - The Elephant in the Room

The state of financial privacy in 2020Note: You can read this in a friendlier format with images over on Medium - https://ift.tt/2RTBWkc erosion of personal privacy is gaining momentum since the coronavirus pandemic took hold. Worldwide, there have been numerous calls by governments and social commentators to increase the surveillance of citizens in hope of controlling the virus. Corporations such as Google and Apple, along with countries such as Singapore, Germany, Belgium, USA, and South Korea have been utilizing smartphone data in different capacities to monitor the movements of citizens. Many believe the implementation of new surveillance measures will calcify and become the new norm, setting precedence for further encroachment.Mainstream media has also begun supporting the notion of increased surveillance to serve social and financial needs. A recent Bloomberg opinion piece discussed the need for increased surveillance, pointing out the financial system we operate within is fractured and inefficient when dealing with wide spread social and economic problems.Once again, government over-reach of citizens’ privacy is a considered solution to our problems.Countries such as Sweden (which is expected to go entirely cashless by 2023) have been leading the charge in moving to a cashless world, and in Australia the government is preparing to ban cash transactions over ten thousand dollars in order to increase monitorization. This road to a cashless society is being sped up by the coronavirus pandemic. There is correlation between countries where ‘cash is king’ and a high number of coronavirus infections. Many retail stores are now too afraid to accept cash due to possible virus transmission, with some outright refusing to transact with cash. The erosion of privacy, and the gradual transition from cash to digital financial transactions leads us to murky waters. Will we be able to conduct private financial transactions five to ten years from now?Throughout the past decade, unorthodox individuals turned to Bitcoin in order to transact privately. This led to the inception of popular online darknet markets such as the Silk Road. However, many of the darknet markets proved to be unreliable and short-lived. It soon became apparent to Bitcoin users that Bitcoin is not private, and many of those conducting transactions in relation to darknet markets were identified and prosecuted.Blockchain analytic companies such as Chainanalysis gained traction and suddenly Bitcoin tumblers were found to be ineffective. Blockchain analytic companies take advantage of Bitcoin’s transparent blockchain, analysing data and tracking transaction outputs. The blockchain analytic company then sells this information to cryptocurrency exchanges and government organisations so they can link Bitcoin addresses to specific users. Many Bitcoin advocates tout Bitcoin can be used privately via the use of newer tumbling technologies, however this is a somewhat arduous process with no guarantee of its effectiveness. In December 2019 Chainanalysis demonstrated how they tracked transactions mixed via Wasabi Wallet that were associated with the PlusToken scam. Tumbling also leads to the possibility of coin taint, whereas certain Bitcoin may be perceived to be less valuable because they can be identified as being associated with nefarious activities, and as a result exchange services may confiscate coins when a user attempts to sell them. While Bitcoin holds many desirable characteristics of sound money, many prominent figures within the Bitcoin space have repeatedly discussed on the need for default privacy and fungibility. However, as was seen in previous years’ block size dispute, the issue of privacy will come with great lengthy debate as stakeholders attempt to reach a consensus that does not impact upon the characteristics of Bitcoin. As change within the social and financial landscape continues to accelerate, those seeking financial privacy may turn to Monero.Monero is the elephant in the room.Monero is a cryptocurrency similar to Bitcoin and shares many of the same characteristics of sound money, however it also provides default privacy. Unlike other privacy focused cryptocurrencies, privacy isn’t opt-in, so all transactions and wallet amounts are unknown and indistinguishable from one another. Every unit of Monero is valued equally as no matter its history. This allows Monero to be truly fungible, and eradicates any possibility of coin taint. It has proven this in a number of cases. For example, exchanges have been hesitant to list Monero due to KYC/AML compliance issues it raises because it is impossible to determine transaction history. If Monero provides financial privacy solutions, why is Monero being ignored?Firstly, while most deem privacy to be important, many are yet to find it necessary to adopt privacy technologies. There are many easy to use privacy solutions such as Signal or DuckDuckGo, however these are not widely used as users opt for convenience instead. As surveillance increases and data collected is harnessed to marginalize or punish users, it is like that privacy technologies will become extremely desirable. Additionally, acquiring Monero can be difficult or inconvenient for some, as cryptocurrency exchanges must comply with laws and regulations, and may perceive it to be a risk listing an untraceable cryptocurrency. This also leads to lower liquidity than other cryptocurrencies.Monero remains a community driven project. Public figures such as John McAfee and Crypto Vigilante continue to advocate the use of Monero ahead of Bitcoin. Due to its humble and open-source nature, Monero isn’t widely promoted even though it maintains the third largest cryptocurrency community on Reddit after Bitcoin and Ethereum. In respect to the technology, Monero’s hashrate has steadily been increasing over time, and the number of daily transactions taking place on the Monero blockchain are higher than ever. The Monero Research Lab continues its research in order to improve the protocol. Over the past few years these improvements resulted in reduced transaction fees, and enhanced scalability and privacy. In just a few years from now, it is extremely likely traditional financial systems will not provide the capacity to transact privately. Banks will be required to ask questions regarding why certain transactions took place, and recorded transaction data will be sold to third parties. As the erosion of our privacy continues to accelerate, it won’t be long until Monero gains the use and recognition it deserves, and price reflects this.Monero is what people think Bitcoin is.Feel free to share or publish this article as you wish.

Quant Network Q1 2020 Review

https://ift.tt/2xygbQ5 following is an brief review of Q1 based on the comments of CEO Gilbert Verdian:On Exchanges:The company laid out it’s strategy for Tier 1 exchange listings in Quants own subreddit.Quant Network Q1 2020 ReviewThis was followed up with the following comments:““Exposure and Exchanges — we’re on it with appropriate ones that fit client and community needs.”“Let’s just say, with the upcoming clients, announcements and partnerships that we have in the pipeline, we’re not going to have any trouble being on these exchanges in line with the strategy we set out”“Yes! Lots of progress.(On Tier 1 exchange listings)”“Wish I had a specific date but there’s progress with the meetings we’ve been having (With Tier 1 exchanges)”On SIA:“More SIA news coming since our partnership and collaboration.”“Public comments were made by the clients of SIA, the ABI at CordaCon in September. They have big plans for SIA which we’re excited to be part of. SIA is HUGE partner and leader in Financial Infrastructure and they’ve picked our technology to solve interoperability of blockchains across financial institutions.”“We have to all wait and see what the Italian Banking Association does and says.”New UK office:Quant also as of April has a new larger, UK office:“We’re also moving to a bigger office in April which is double the size of the current one, catering for over 40 people — so trying to balance all of this!”“We’re doubling our team size hence getting the new office space”On the US expansion:“We have our Los Angeles office already with our America’s COO visiting us at QuantX. Next is NY”On China:“Our Board have met with the highest levels of the Government in China regarding their blockchain initiatives. We have a meeting here in London in 2 weeks time with some contacts. We’re exploring taking our technology to China as it’s the right time”On Central Banks and Capital Markets:“We’re actually in discussions with 5 central banks currently”“Sure! Things are progressing very well. We had a meeting with a european central bank just before Christmas and they’re signing up to use Overledger through the developer portal to test it out. We have another central bank meeting next week and two abroad by end of Jan. There’s 5 that we’ve been meeting with.”“Interchange is at the centre of the discussions we’ve had with traditional exchanges in capital markets and central banks.”“Interchange is shaping the conversations we’re having within Capital Market and Central Bank clients. It’s been a missing piece for digital assets in financial services.”“We met the Fed for a reason earlier this year based on the work we’re doing in CBDC with central banks”“AX work has been very good for us. It focused our tech to be ready for capital markets especially with creating Interchange that solved Delivery vs Payment. The work from AX has lead us to 2 new Capital Markets clients who are household names that we’re currently testing Overledger and they’ve signed up and using our cloud version for testing right now”On the work with Oracle:“HCL we are in discussions with, but also focusing our efforts with Oracle, some big opportunities coming up for the FS sector with Oracle.”““We’ve had meetings with Oracle regarding the Swedish Central Bank. That’s not part of the 5 we are already talking to.”On upcoming announcements:“The Central Bank will announce what we’re doing with them”“We’ve got 2 new Government clients one has the potential to have 50m users and the other about 8million users of Overledger. These have taken a long time to progress and land and we’re excited about what’s coming.”Everything seems prepared for a major announcement to coincide with media coverage:“Cointelegraph, they’ve reached out to us to publish new articles which we’ll do with upcoming news”On when the next blockchainbrad interview will take place: “Planning on it with one of our upcoming news”Also coming in Q2 is the dashboard which will display network activity:“Our Developer Portal is completely being revamped which is linked to the Treasury and on track”“All Overledge Network gateway activity and usage will be visible on OVN through dashboards.”“All Overledger network traffic going through the gateways will be visible on the dashboard — developer, enterprise, and Networks that connect”“Yes, we haven’t done enough community awareness and engagement in the blockchain/crypto space. We’re solving that and in the process of hiring a Director of Ecosystem and Community who will be front and centre and getting us the awareness and recognition we should be getting”On competition:“Clients identify the right technology for their use case. It’s not going to be a single technology every single time and the market is huge to allow for different types of technologies to cater for specific use cases. This it how it is in enterprise software.”“In the enterprise blockchain space what we are doing is very unique and according to Gartner, no one is close to what we deliver.”“Enterprise and institutional clients read and value the analyst assessments from Gartner”On Overledger Network and Gateways:“Further more — what we set out to do with Overledger Network is on track and looking to be bigger than what we originally planned whiich is very exciting for me personally. The Network of Networks is coming together very nicely”“This has been part of the work we’ve done on Overledger Network. It’s grown to be bigger than what we planned with the ability to have community gateways and enterprise gateways. This is linked to the new Developer Portal we’re currently working on and tied to the new Treasury. All of this is on track for Q2 and we’ve made great progress on this. We have now added new payment channels for QNT transactions inside Overledger Network and using QNT to run new OVN MApps from gateways. This allows gateway operators to earn and charge QNT for network services consumed by network.”“Part of Overledger network we’re at the beginning discussions of a global IT Vendor to host a Financial Services network for all of their clients to use an Overledger Network Gateway — something bigger than JPMorgan’s INN”“We’re taking the concepts of Proof of Stake to pay for license fees, allowing gw operators to stake more to process and route transactions to then earn more. Together with allowing gw operators to run OVN MApps to charge QNT for network services and transactions. We’re applying the concepts of game theory to incentivise participation and dis-incentivise bad actors”“We want to enforce mainnet charges as we switch the nodes to mainnet and Overledger Network comes online in Q2.”On the Gateway software itself:“It’s going to be a lightweight single binary in Java to run on any machine windows/Linux/Mac” gatewayOn how long it has taken to come this far and the realities of being a real project, delivering real clients:“You know each Enterprise client takes about 8–12months of work, meetings and effort to start a project. This the same across all enterprise software and from my experience at the C-level in previous organisations.”Q1 completed with the release of the community treasury design:https://medium.com/@quant_network/overledger-network-community-treasury-design-release-cc15377da0a3Now get ready for Q2:https://ift.tt/2XPns8P

Discussion of the Day: Hedera Hashgraph HBAR

-Today's Crypto of the Day is Hedera Hashgraph HBAR, and it's current price is $0.0332.DUE TO SOME PERSONAL ISSUES, I AM TEMPORARILY BEHIND ON FOLLOW UP POSTS.

We're about 50 members from 1 million subscribers, which begs the question, how much crypto do you think we all have together?I know a large proportion will be lurkers who own none, but there are going to be a few whales, and more people like me who have anywhere from 0.5 BTC worth of crypto to 5 BTC worth.I know that there's no real way to tell but I think it would be a cool thought experiment.

ChainLink (LINK) dump incoming?

Two days ago i was reading this post:https://ift.tt/3cm58rU also found this post where you can see how developer started dumping huge amounts of LINK token when LINK reached the same BTC price where we are now.https://ift.tt/3anMTRo agree with everything said in the previous posts so i searched for developer address which hold at least 65% of supply. In last 24-48 hours i noticed large coin mixing from one address to another what is probably done to prevent sending coins direct to exchanges. Right now we are at the peek of the pump and it seams to me that he is preparing for another dump. Now when we have derivatives and we are able to short altcoins with leverage, this could make us a lot of money if we open position before he start to dump. On March 12 the price went from $3,80 all the way down to $0,0001 so while this is probably the most overpriced coin, its also the coin that can dump to zero in 24 hours since we already seen this a month ago.Any thoughts?

Discussion of the Day: Dogecoin DOGE

-Today's Crypto of the Day is Dogecoin DOGE, and it's current price is $0.002.DUE TO SOME PERSONAL ISSUES, I AM TEMPORARILY BEHIND ON FOLLOW UP POSTS. I just successfully bought stuff online and paid with cryptocurrency for the first time. I love it.

I was doing some online shopping, and I saw the website allowed payments in cryptocurrency and even offered an additional discount if you used this method. I couldn't say no to that. I already had some hodl wallets setup from my post-breakup paranoid moment where I stashed some cryptocurrencies because it was the only thing my ex never understood how it worked. It took me like 10 minutes from start to finish. I was scared at first, and I had to wait a few minutes for the transaction to be completed, but I will definitely repeat if I find more online merchants accepting crypto.

Should I swing trade crypto?

Hey guys,I've been involved with crypto for about 6 months now in some way or another. I know that many people despise the stock market here but I also am pretty into options trading. Nothing crazy, I put up small risk defined positions (~5% of my portfolio per ticker) and options make up no more than 20% of my portfolio. Crypto makes up about 5% of my wealth. The reason I bring up options is because I have some experience with trading volatility. If I were to do this, it would be in the same way. Small position sizes, monotonous trading strategy, profit/loss cutoffs. Probably no more than 20% of my crypto portfolio on an exchange to be traded at once. I just feel like there is so much opportunity on the crypto market. You can't beat it's volatility--its phenomenal. If I were to do this I would use Coinbase Pro (GDAX). I've messed with Kraken and Binance before and frankly I think CP is better because of it's simple mobile UI and it's extremely fiat friendly, which is what I'm looking for. Also I will only have access to major coins which is purposeful. I love volatility, but I refuse to gamble on shitcoins.Anyways, I'd like some feedback from some experienced crypto traders or just people who know the market well. Just understand I am thinking of crypto as solely an investment vehicle, although I do believe it will play a huge role in the coming times which is why I own BTC in the first place. Thanks for your help!

Ethereum Matches Bitcoin in Terms of Daily Value Transfers

https://ift.tt/3bgpR01

Submitted April 16, 2020 at 10:20PM

Chainlink is the most overvalued "cryptocurrency" the world has ever seen

There are 1,000,000,000 LINK tokens, which gives it a market cap of $3.2 billion. If you remove Tether, that would place it #6 as the most valuable "cryptocurrency". If you remove XRP, which is also not a cryptocurrency, it would place it #5. If you merge bitcoin forks, it would be #3, right under Ethereum. Its current position is #11 according to CoinMarketcap, but that's because 650,000,000 tokens are owned by the team. Those tokens are not locked, nor legally bound by any agreement to not be sold. In fact the team has already started dumping them. They are literally circulating by any technical or legal definition, but for some reason CoinMarketcap decides to mislead investors and say they are not circulating. (https://ift.tt/2KciQBq team promises in its whitepaper that half those tokens will be "rewards for nodes", but why would you trust the team? They've lied countless times. For example when they plaster in their marketing everywhere that their oracles are decentralized (they are not), Vitalik himself says so. The only "consensus algorithm" they use is to KYC each node manually. (https://ift.tt/3epn7iV also lied about many partnerships. For example, they've said several times that they work with Swift, which is not true. They won some Swift competition in 2016, and radio silence since then. They still claim to be working with Swift today, but they conveniently removed it from their website not long ago. (https://ift.tt/3afKZlU also claim to be working with Google, which is also a lie. They did 1 blog post 1 year ago, which was basically a thinly veiled ad for Google Cloud services. It was provably neither a partnership nor integration. The Google employee never even ran a node on mainnet. Yet the team constantly boasts about "working with Google". (https://ift.tt/3afKZlU did the same with Oracle Cloud. Fernando (the Oracle employee that organized the "partnership") bragged about holding LINK after it pumped, got demoted, and all the Oracle startups that were supposed to be part of the "partnership" turned out to be dead or fake companies. It was at best a PR stunt for Oracle Cloud, at worst insider trading by Oracle employees. (https://web.archive.org/web/20200114062507/https://twitter.com/fribeiro1/status/1213946909464973316)Chainlink has dozens of other "partnerships". I don't have time to investigate all of them, but all the ones I looked into were basically fake. (And by fake I mean they are grossly exaggerated, the tweets and blogposts are real)As of today, even though they are the highest valued non-bitcoin, non-ethereum cryptoccurency in the world, the only project using their centralized KYC oracles are Synthetix (according to someone from their team). (https://ift.tt/2xz4qsw apparently have countless big name companies "that will use Chainlink soon", but considering their testnet has been usable for close to 2 years, they have 1-2+ years old "partnerships" that are still not using it, and that their MO is to lie as much as humanly possible, I doubt it's true.

I also saw that other currencies have either decreased the block time, increased the block size or both (but this seems for of a temporary problem.)I'm doing some research for an essay and am wondering what potential methods there are but also what vulnerabilities they could open up / flaws they might have.Thank you very much for any help and explanations.

Stable coins getting banned - G20 regulation

Before I discuss any further I want you to remind what was discussed in December 2019 where Christine Lagarde touched the subject "stable coins". Take a look at the videoTime stamp of the video 57:13https://youtu.be/ucuSp2QiK_IPretty much they don't consider bitcoin as a danger but in fact they consider stable coins as a danger. She mentioned that they gonna get ahead of the curve on the stable coins and then immediately started discussing digital payments in the EU across European Banks and it is becoming a very severe situation with central banks pushing digital fiat. And that tells us that as it is the current situation with negative interest rates, central banks wants us to have an account in the bank so they can charge us negative interest rates, instantly, and force us to go and spend money, pretty much they can control our behavior with a click of a button. So since this press conference there was not that much of a news regarding stable coins but it came that day where they are going to pretty much ban them. They are forcing a new G20 regulation.Stablecoins continue to grow, we also saw some new stable coins launching in the past year. Different stable coins with different mechanics, some of them are backed by real fiat (dollars) and some of them are just an algorithm that keeps the value of the coin at $1 stable, a real example of this is Dai.https://ift.tt/2XAOujZ came across this article this morning. Financial Stability Board that is hosted by the Bank of International Settlements and it is also in high connection to the G20 are basically saying all countries have to ban stable coins because is no way that these stable coins can comply with even portion of the rules that they are imposing.Quoting"The Financial Stability Board (FSB) outlined ten recommendations to central banks for regulating stablecoins, including outright prohibition." - I think this will be implemented real quick, I would say by the end of 2020 this might happen because it is in direct competition with digital fiat and they are not letting that to play by itself in the "free market".Quoting"The FSB is an international entity that provides suggestions on the global financial system." - In many cases the regulation is put in place not to protect the consumers that is the biggest lie in all the regulations. They pretty much are saying, regulation is here for you, the consumer, in reality the regulation is there to protect the monopolies because you have to understand when you are a new company you are a new organisation and you becoming big. Question is why do you become big? Well it's simple because you've been working hard because you invest in research and development because you served the marked very well and all this is expensive but it's well worth. But the thing is when you become big enough when you become global, when you become powerful you have the choice to either continue investing in creating better services, competing on the markets allowing newcomers to compete with you and just being a normal participant in the free market as everyone else OR you have the choice to invest some money in lobbies and try to lobby for a regulation, try to build up the defense around your business model so nobody can compete because nobody has the resources nor the man power nor the knowledge to be the part of your walled garden because you have built up all this regulation and as you see it is very clear that this is whats going on right now. The fact that they are protecting the consumer, this and that, but in reality they are also admitting that this is in direct competition with their own system with their own power. It is very important to note that whenever you hear these regulation you have to understand that they are selling it to you and acting like they are defending you, so you don't revolt about monopolies because it's all about you ...I even believe in their "meetings" they are discussing a lot how they will keep the "people working paying taxes don't ask any question", "we can do our monopoly defending through regulation because they think we are defending the people and by the way we also gonna do central banking" which is the fact that you get people with high credit scores getting cheap loans getting cheap money and we see this wealth transfer from poor to rich, the Cantillon Effect(google it to understand better what is this). This all is marketed and positioned in media as something good for all of us but in reality it is not. It's all about keeping their monopolies and their system.Quoting"The recommendations are to be presented before an audience of G20 countries, and reference major stablecoins, including USDT, USDC, TUSD, PAX, and DAI (DEFI). Given the market’s heavy reliance on stablecoin, a ban could mean disaster for Bitcoin and the broader cryptocurrency market." - Let's see what kind of arguments they have, why do they want to ban stable coins and at least regulate them to death. It is not necessarily that they are going to ban but it's that the regulations are impossible so it is a ban pretty much.Quoting"The FSB’s primary focus is on the potential risks that stable coins could pose to global financial stability"  - This bothers me so much, apparently the financial system is so brutal it is so vulnerable that we need to have all these guys protecting it all costs and when you have some stable coin project it needs to be removed because it threatens the stability. It really brings the question how vulnerable is this whole financial system why is it so unstable? Whenever new invention you have, whenever new startup, you always have to ensure that it doesn't threaten the stability ...They are basically saying that because retail investors are getting in all these stable coins it means if one of these stable coins exit scams or something else happen it means that that particular retail investor that bought a stable coin will feel poor it will feel like they don't have money and they will not spend in the economy so thus the financial sta
