#1 PurposeThe main purpose I worked out these charts/numbers is to help the average users make more informed decisions in their Governance Polls. I see more people are putting out the governance/ distribution proposals and newcomers are also excited about the governance/vote part of the MOONs. I also intend to get more people into participating in the voting proposals by looking at these statistics and start making their decisions.#2 Truthfulness of the dataThe data being presented here is only as true as the data reddit posted so far.I also relied on This post to make my work easier. So I assumed that was correct data. The data of MOONs prices is taken from Coingecko, so I assumed the data they have is correct.I gathered data about who are the moderators from the subreddit's mod page itself. I assume it is true. I have excluded all the moderator bots.#3 Terms usedMOONs : The Cryptocurrency we are talking about. Newbies head over HereContributor : A user who is NOT A MODERATOR. By contributors, I mean users like me who are just members, NOT MODERATORS.Moderator : A user who is the maintainer of the sub. Bots are NOT included in the moderators list for this analysis.Karma : The points you earn for contributing to the community. The base points over which MOONs earned are calculated.Addresses : The number of Vault Addresses at a given round. i.e the number of people with a VALID vault address and are ABLE to receive MOONs.Now that we got all the formal stuff laid out, let's jump to the charts! The Reddit MOONs Statistics:1. MOONs per karma :The MOONs per karma for each roundThe chart shows the MOONs given out per Karma point for each round. The numbers 1 through 9 on horizontal are the distribution rounds i.e the round 1 to round 9. We can see that the number is reducing drastically each round. This will seem natural as we move on to the next chart. The newcomers/people participating in the MOONs distribution is rising. So I believe the MOONs given out each time per karma is reducing.2. Vault Addresses :The number of vault addresses at each roundThe number of vault addresses mean the number of users who made their vault and are ABLE to receive MOONs. The numbers 1 through 9 on horizontal are the distribution rounds i.e the round 1 to round 9. It is increasing at each round with the biggest increase being from round 8 to round 9. The only time it decreased is in round 2 and I found it suspicious, I double checked and some people didn't participate in the second round of distribution for some reason. I think some have left the subreddit or maybe it's a mix of deleted vaults and exiting users. The chart indicates that more and more people are getting involved in the MOONs distribution which is a healthy sign for the project.3. Average MOONs Contributors earned :The average MOONs a Contributor(Member) earned each roundThe chart is not as strictly reducing/increasing as the last charts. The numbers 1 through 9 on horizontal are the distribution rounds i.e the round 1 to round 9. There are a few reasons for this. The number of contributors are increasing while the MOONs per karma varied over time. And there were also some modifications made to the distribution so that the distribution among the Contributors/Users varied drastically in many manners. Till round 6, various factors influenced the average MOONs contributor earned but, the HUGE influx of new users after 6th round made the value go down no matter what. As the users increased, naturally the MOONs each people got decreased.4. Average MOONs Moderators earned :The average MOONs a Moderator earned each roundIf you watch closely, the Chart #1 i.e, the MOONs per karma and this chart are PERFECTLY match. The reasoning behind this is pretty simple. As the number of moderators is almost constant (you can argue that mod bots are added or deleted sometimes, but I made sure that I didn't count any mod bots). More on who are the moderators later, as the number of moderators is constant, the only factors that are influencing this value are strictly only the karma earned by the moderator and the MOONs given per karma.5. The Price of MOONs :The price per MOONs in USDI'd like to first get some things off first. The data AFTER round 5 is gathered from CoinGecko which is mostly accurate and the only source. The price at round 2 is gathered from the discussions in the subreddit. BUT, the prices at round 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 were the ones I couldn't get my hands on. I'm think they mostly were sideways and stabilised at round 6. For newcomers, you can trade your moons for xDAI at Honeyswap, details over here.6. The distribution among holders:The chart shows the number of people holding MOONs per MOON rangeLet me explain the above chart. The horizontal axis shows the MOON "Brackets" i.e, the MOONs in ranges of 0-10, 10-100, 100-1000 and so on till 100,000 to 1 Million. The BIG numbers you see on the vertical, or the numbers on the bars show "HOW MANY" people "EARNED" that price range MOONs. Still didn't get it?..The chart simply shows the distribution i.e "HOW MANY PEOPLE IN A PARTICULAR RANGE HOLD MOONs IN THAT PARTICULAR RANGE". For example, 29,543 people have earned 0 to 10 MOONs and 8 people earned MOONs between the range of 100,000 to 1 Million so far till round 9.Now, I want to clarify a thing about this chart,The keyword/metric here is "EARNED" not "CURRENTLY HOLDING" because I didn't take into account how much they spent. Simply put, the above chart takes only the MOONs received into account, not sold or exchanged with other people.People who DO NOT have vault address /no karma come under the category 0 MOONs.Credits :The post u/lomosaur posted made my work easier. Without that it would've taken a long time. This post is possible only because reddit posts the distribution data for every rounds. Cheers to reddit for having such transparency! And finally, the users and moderators for helping the sub thrive and making it welcoming to newcomers. My final thoughts :The first and foremost surprising finding from this analysis is that the staggering amount of users WITHOUT vault address. I know people who didn't earn a single karma till round 9 won't have any MOONs but even a single/two comments register a karma point. So I assume a BIG percentage of 29,543 people don't have a vault address. Create your vault people!I do not intend to take sides/criticise over people and I'm not trying to make any conclusions here. My part ends at showing people the charts/data...the rest is up to the viewer. The data is an approximate. There might still be errors that crept in although I made sure and checked to keep them at minimum. To my knowledge, I did everything correctly and checked. While the numbers/data might be approximate, I'm sure the analysis captured the distribution/demographic perfectly.Notice how the number of NEW users round after round are increasing, so new users are popping up every month, maybe that's why reposts are getting those huge newcomer upvotes.I'd also be happy to post the code for this analysis if enough people want it.We are all here to participate in promising future projects like these. Although those lambos and gains are a byproduct, there are hundreds or thousands of subreddits without something like this. I'm happy that strangers across oceans can come together like this, learn and experience a network of cryptocurrency and we might be the first ones to be participating in what might be one of the first successful cryptocurrency based on social media. And I hope people will make better decisions with this data, I hope good governance proposals get support from users and are passed. I urge everyone to have a look at this data and help the community make better decisions in polls for greater good.Patience people, you will all get those profits you intend compared to non participants. Don't compete over MOONs. if not in the short run, in the long run all MOON holders will see those gains! And this might sound cheesy but I'd like to quote Louis C.K,The only time you look in your neighbour's bowl is to make sure that they have enough. You don't look in your neighbour's bowl to see if you have as much as them.
