I have a friend who feels unbankable.

They take creative clients who want to pay in "square cash" or "venmo" or other established payment methods. What is a legit way they can receive payment on similar applications? For example any services where you can get paid by a credit card and receive in a stable coin?Imagine someone who doesn't know what Bitcoin is.

From the creators of LocalMonero: AgoraDesk! An unprecedented Local* (i.e. P2P OTC) exchange for trading not only Monero and Bitcoin but also physically settled XMR- and BTC-based option contracts! This is the first exchange of its kind. Trade XMR and BTC options as you'd trade XMR on LocalMonero!

Introducing AgoraDeskWe've been working on this one for quite some time now, but we're very excited to present you guys with AgoraDesk, which, in addition to being essentially an alternative LocalMonero front-end which adds Bitcoin to the platform, also happens to be the world's first P2P OTC cryptocurrency options exchange. With physical settlement, no less. And straight out of the gate we support both XMR- and BTC-based contracts.FeaturesAgoraDesk's features include everything you expect from LocalMonero and more:No KYC/AML or verification (though some traders on the platform might ask you for verification themselves);Any currency, any payment method, anywhere;Cash and online Monero trading (just like LocalMonero);Cash and online Bitcoin trading (just like the other Local* sites);Monero options trading (calls & puts);Bitcoin options trading (calls & puts);Options are settled physically (i.e. with the underlying BTC or XMR);Call options support both gross settlement and net settlement;Accounts, reputation and XMR ads/trades are completely shared with LocalMonero;Onion portal;I2P portal;No-JavaScript version of the site (loads by default when accessing from Tor or I2P);Fully functional when Google is blocked by your browser;Affiliate program - earn commission for inviting trading users;Multilingual: we support English, Russian, Chinese (both simplified and traditional), Italian, Portuguese and Spanish;Mobile notifications through telegram, so that you won't have to install yet another app on your phone just to get push notifications about your trades;Beautiful ads through the use of Markdown;2FA (with TOTP apps like Google Authenticator or andOTP);Withdrawal transaction priority for Monero withdrawals;Deposit and withdraw currencies other than BTC and XMR through MorphToken integration;Complicated pricing mechanisms through the use of price/premium formulas, not just for spot trading but also for options and their premiums; As can be noticed from our feature set, since we come from a Monero background, AgoraDesk inherits the same privacy bent as LocalMonero. Why P2P OTC options?Because until today one could only have access to these sorts of instruments if they went through tedious verification processes of the centralized exchanges. In addition, many countries/regions (even the US in some instances) are simply banned from accessing these instruments on most popular centralized exchanges. Since our platform is completely P2P and OTC (no standardized instruments), we can afford not to impose any such restrictions.Leveraged Trading for AllCall options (i.e. the right to buy), for instance, can serve as an alternative to a leveraged long position upon the underlying asset. If you buy a call option for an underlying of $100 worth of BTC for a premium of $1 then you're in a position similar to a x100 leveraged long position. Initially, you only pay the $1 premium to the call option seller, and if the price increases x2 then you profit $99. Pay $1, get 100$. If the price drops, you simply let your call option expire, and your losses are limited to the premium you payed - $1.Put options (i.e. the right to sell), likewise, can serve as alternatives to a leveraged short position.Risk Hedging for AllIn addition to "leveraged trading", calls and puts can be used to hedge yourself against price fluctuation risks if you happen to receive or make payments in BTC and/or XMR.For example, you sell beautiful Monero-inspired art and receive payment in XMR. Every month you pay expenses in USD: rent, electricity, internet bills, food, and so on. Assume your monthly USD expenses are $1000. Under the current XMR price, you make enough per month to cover your expenses, but you are worried that a sudden drop in the price might affect your ability to pay at the end of the month. To guard against this, you simply buy a put option with an underlying of $1000 worth of XMR that expires at the end of the month. If the price goes up - you let the option expire, sell your XMR on the spot market and reap the profit. If the price goes down - you exercise the option and are able to cover your expenses despite the price going down. These and many more advantages to be reaped from being able to trade options in a P2P OTC manner are now, for the first time in the cryptocurrency industry, available to the you. What is the relationship between AgoraDesk and LocalMonero? We've made a Venn diagram to illustrate the overlap in functionality. So, what does this mean for LocalMonero, what if I don't care about trading Bitcoins or options?Everything on LocalMonero will stay exactly as it is. If you don't care about BTC and/or options then you can keep using the platform exactly as you used it before. There will be no new complex extra buttons or other interface changes that shoehorn BTC and options into the LocalMonero experience. How does my LocalMonero account relate to my AgoraDesk account? Is the XMR balance shared?LocalMonero and AgoraDesk accounts are completely shared. You don't need to register on AgoraDesk if you have a LocalMonero account, just use the same login/pass on AgoraDesk to login and you'll see your balance, reputation, ads, trades and everything else will be visible within AgoraDesk. The same is also true for any account that gets registered on AgoraDesk - the XMR balance, XMR ads, XMR trades and everything XMR related will be visible when you login to LocalMonero using the AgoraDesk login/pass.If I create an ad on LocalMonero, will it be visibile to people searching for XMR ads on AgoraDesk?Yes! Anyone browsing AgoraDesk searching for XMR ads will be able to see your ad and open a trade with you, and you will be able to undertake the trade exactly as you did before. For all intents and purposes it's as if the counterparty was replying to your ad on LocalMonero. If I create a BTC or option ad on AgoraDesk, will it be visible on LocalMonero? No. We wanted to keep the LocalMonero core functionality exactly as it is so as to not force unnecessary extra complexity on the people who just want to deal with Monero. If I create an XMR ad on AgoraDesk, will it be visible on LocalMonero?Yes! And any LocalMonero user would be able to open a trade with you, just like they would on AgoraDesk.Find us:Site: https://ift.tt/2mUTqR6 portalI2P portalReddit: /r/AgoraDeskTelegram: @AgoraDesk

A multiple portfolios question for Blockfolio...

I'm keen to have two different views: one for my own investments, and another view for any airdrops etc. I cannot work out how to do this on Blockfolio; instead I have Binance and Coinbase imported in one view currently - any ideas? If Blockfolio isn't the best for this, can you suggest where might be a good place to have these views? The multiple portfolios option doesn't seem to support the way I'd like...Google is no help - it's not saying 'no', though! Thanks!

Why I think Bitcoin WON'T lead the next bull run

As we all know, when Bitcoin shot up to $20,000 at the end of 2017, the exponential growth of altcoins and the entire cryptocurrency space followed very shortly after. Because of this, many people today believe that in order for the next bull run to occur, Bitcoin must first go on another massive run before that money and hype can then enter the rest of the space. In this thread, I'm going to explain why I think Bitcoin won't be the cryptocurrency that leads the next bull run, and then i'll explain the attributes that I believe are essential for whichever cryptocurrency will end up leading it.Chances are that since you're reading this, you still believe in the future of cryptocurrency and own at least some. But the same cannot be said for most people who heard about or even bought some cryptocurrency near the height of the last bull run. Let's put ourselves into their shoes to understand what caused the last bull run and how that might influence how the next bull run plays out.In the following video from June 2019, two guys that don't know too much about Bitcoin meet up with a Bitcoin enthusiast and try to survive on it for a day. Watch how the two guys talk to each other about Bitcoin before they meet up with the enthusiast. (~30 seconds)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYFyKWz4mBg&t=80sThey call it "outdated" and compare it to the song Friday, the Youtuber RayWilliamJohnson, and the show Breaking Bad. Essentially what they're saying is that it was extremely popular for a short amount of time and then quickly died off. In other words, it was a fad. Now, I know it might trigger a Bitcoin maximalist to hear Bitcoin described as a fad, but to the average person that doesn't follow cryptocurrency religiously, it really did behave as a fad in every sense of the word. A quick google search gives us this definition: A fad is a product that has little, if any, utility but is characterized by a quick rise in sales and popularity followed by a quick decline in sales and popularity. This quick up and down in sales is because fad products usually do not satisfy a strong consumer need. Nevertheless, fads seldom completely die out, with some hardcore followers remaining loyal. Now, some people might be quick to point out that Bitcoin does have utility and it does satisfy a strong consumer need since, unlike our current FIAT monetary system, it's open, public, borderless, neutral, and censorship resistant. But these qualities weren't apparent, or necessarily even important, to the average person getting into cryptocurrency in 2017. What was apparent was that Bitcoin couldn't be spent anywhere because very few places accepted it, and it couldn't even be traded among each other since the fees reached absurd levels at times. Therefore, during Bitcoin's entire time in the mainstream spotlight, it's only real utility to the average person was it's use as a speculative investment, which consequently became the main reason people bought any. But when the price started to fall, it failed them in the one thing they saw it as useful for - making money. They had this cryptocurrency that they could not do anything with other than passively lose money, so they jumped ship and moved on.The point I'm trying to make is that Bitcoin had its opportunity in the mainstream spotlight, but it failed to be anything other than a speculative asset, resulting in it becoming a fad in most people's eyes rather than a trend. Non crypto enthusiasts won't have as much excitement and enthusiasm with Bitcoin the second time around, especially when very few things will have changed on a technical level and it still won't be usable as a currency. Even in the above linked video from just a few months ago, the people were unable to find a single place to spend their Bitcoin at all day (other than convincing an escort to give them pizza paid for with FIAT in exchange for their Bitcoin, lol)And that's precisely why I think Bitcoin won't be the cryptocurrency the leads this space into the next bull run. The bull run of 2017 was a speculative bull run centered around Bitcoin. You won't have another speculative bull run stemming from the exact same cryptocurrency that hasn't even changed on a fundamental level. If it simply remains an "outdated" speculative asset, it will be impossible to generate enough hype from people that will have already known about Bitcoin for years and have possibly even lost money from it. Speculation simply isn't enough. The next bull run has to come from use cases rather than speculation. So my advice: stop paying attention to the projects that spend all of their time and money marketing in an attempt to win over the ~0.01% of people still interested in cryptocurrencies, and start paying attention to the projects working quietly but diligently to win over the other ~99.99% of the population by actually accomplishing what their whitepaper sets out to do. Because these are the projects that have a legitimate chance to generate interest and lead the next bull run by becoming a fad like Bitcoin was in 2017. Except if they're actually useful for something other than speculation, they won't just be a fad - they will become a trend that sticks around and becomes widely adopted.______________________________________________________________________________________________________________Tl;dr: Bitcoin failed to be anything other than a speculative asset when it was in the mainstream spotlight during the 2017 bull run. It will be impossible for Bitcoin to generate that much hype again from speculation alone. The next bull run will be lead by a cryptocurrency that technologically accomplishes what its whitepaper sets out to do and has an actual use case, generating its own hype and widespread adoption independent of Bitcoin.

No, your Bitcoin is not at risk from quantum computing. You got played.

The claim: Quantum computers can hack bitcoin and its right around the corner.Reality:There is no known way that quantum computers can break SHA256 (only the signing elliptic curve/ECDSA). So cold wallets will always be safe (this means you have not made an outgoing transaction in that wallet)This also means you will always be safe in actively making transactions as long as wallet providers provide the functionality to constantly move your funds to a new address on each transaction (this already exists in several wallets). There is a larger discussion on upgrading bitcoin, the fact that quantum computers are not even close to being able to crack ECDSA, etc. But I'm just going to leave it at what I said above. Your Bitcoin is not at risk from quantum computing. The fud campaigns on quantum computing has been organized by traders half a dozen times over the past 5 years at the end of consolidation triangles, which is exactly what happened this time.

Importance Of Retail-Driven Crypto Adoption

The main incentive to create Pundi X was the difficulties that all new cryptocurrency users may face. Most of the cryptocurrency exchanges are difficult to use and do not have new users to invest in. This is not reaching the stage of managing many wallets, private keys, passphrases, and authenticators. The Pundi X team behind NPXS wants to make it as easy to buy and sell cryptocurrencies as buying a bottle of water. They intend to solve this problem using the three main elements of its offer: a platform, mobile wallets, and tools for settlements in every corner around the world which they've taken literally. The establishment of Pundi X began in 2018 with excellent progress regarding business development with no signs of slowing down. Fast forward to 2019 the team has been active integrating payment options for any token holders of BTC, ETH, BNB, DGX, KCS, KNC, XEM, VRH, DAI, QTUM, FX, NPXS and NPXSXEM that'll enable anyone to transact at any retailer with an XPOS device. The small details that Pundi X has included in their technology all go towards eliminating barriers that prevents people from adopting blockchain/crypto technology. Likely, as Enecuum's ENQ is now part of Pundi-X global payment ecosystem, both of them really break down pretty much every barrier standing between cryptocurrencies and potential users.https://ift.tt/2nb6wJL

New Rule Changes

Monthly Skeptics discussionr/CryptoCurrency community:I am here to announce that this subreddit now has a series of streamlined rules. These rules were a joint, months-long effort by the entire moderation team to improve the experience for everyone. I've summarized the changes depending on what type of user you are:Typical Poster of Interesting StuffLargely, nothing changes. Keep doing what you're doing. Post those insightful posts and comment those interesting comments. If you run into any rule issues, they are easier to understand. These new rules are meant to make your life easier.Occasional Troll or ShillDon't be stupid. Trolling can sometimes be funny and effective, but please read the rules and keep it cool if we tell you to calm down. You should never be mean, and this is a moderated community. r/CryptoCurrency isn't a playground for you to use at others' expense. You need to be a contributor to the community, not an annoying representative of your favorite project.Project-Affiliated AssociateAre you working for a project that is occasionally discussed here (or one you would like to be discussed here)? Read the rules. r/CryptoCurrency is a place to discuss many projects, but it's not an advertising paradise. Our rules regarding promotions are clearer and stricter.Vote ManipulatorDon't do it. We now have better bots and rules in place to protect against these offenses. r/CryptoCurrency takes vote manipulation and shilling seriously.View the rules herePlease comment below with questions. Leading comments will most likely be removed.

We want to build the leading European trading center for this purpose," says Dr. Dirk Sturz, CEO of Boerse Stuttgart Digital Exchange GmbH, which has been active on the Stuttgart stock exchange since 2007. "Private and institutional investors will have direct access to digital assets via BSDEX, which they can trade flexibly and at relatively low cost. The blockchain will change the financial industry in the long term. We are taking up the technology trend and building the trading centre of the future," says Peter Großkopf, CTO of Boerse Stuttgart Digital Exchange GmbH.How does trading work?According to the press release, investors do not need a broker, but can connect directly to the trading platform. Trading is to take place "almost around the clock, seven days a week". Initially, market and limit orders will be set for trading, further order options will be added over time.Where are the Bitcoins stored? The press release states: "blocknox GmbH, a subsidiary of Boerse Stuttgart Digital Ventures GmbH, will hold the free custody of the digital assets acquired on the BSDEX in trust. So you don't need your own wallet to trade, you just need a trading account with BSDEX to trade.Link to original article (German): https://ift.tt/2myavzF

Update to the User Flair System

InstaMod 2.0 LaunchHello everyone! Awhile ago I made a post on here debuting InstaMod, r/CC's flair system. Today I am happy to announce that after four months of hard work I've finished completely overhauling the program. The new version (which is already running) brings some new features and functionality which I will go over below.New Progression TiersPreviously progression tiers were based on the user's QC (Quality Comments: the number of positive comments minus the number of negative comments a user has in certain subreddits). It's a little more complicated than that, but that's the gist of it. This is the same QC that you see in other user's flair text. The new progression tiers are still based on QC, but users are placed into tiers based on their percentile, instead of just the total number of QC they have. Here are the new distributions for the tiers:TierDistributionBronze100% - 50%Silver50% - 25%Gold25% - 10%Platinum10% - 1%Just as before, users placed into the Platinum tier will be granted the ability to assign themselves custom flair. If you are placed into the Platinum tier, you will receive a PM from /u/InstaMod informing you of your new permissions and how to use them. This will be covered in the PM Commands section. Everyone's flair is updated weekly in rolling intervals.Activity TagsYour fair will contain additional information about the user's account activity in crypto related subreddits if you meet certain criteria. Here are the current tag options:Display the user's top 3 crypto subreddits based on QCIf the user has less than -10 QC in a subreddit, display the lowest QC subredditDisplay the user's most used subreddit from a list of trader, mining, and general tech subs.PM CommandsYou have the ability to interact with /u/InstaMod by sending commands over PM (not chat). Here is a list of the commands currently available to users and a pre-formatted link for those commands.Note: The pre-formatted will not work on mobile!updatemeDescription: Update the senders flair instantlyMessage syntax:Subject: !CryptoCurrency !updateme Body: Link!flairDescription: Allow Platinum users to assign themselves custom flairMessage syntax:Subject: !CryptoCurrency !flair Body: Flair Text: text goes here Flair CSS: css goes here LinkIf you have any questions or comments I will be more than happy to answer them in the comments below. If you are interested in having /u/InstaMod run on your subreddit, please PM /u/shimmyjimmy97 to get started.Github

Why don’t you guys use Vertbase? We should stay away from these greedy exchanges

Binance knows they can get away with anything.I don’t hold any amount of DGB but charging ridiculous amounts of money isn’t doing any of us favours. Reputable decentralized coins that didn’t raise money through ICOs or premines simply can’t afford to get on their exchange and I for one don’t want to continue supporting this.I’m going to shill Vertbase here, they have USD GBP and EURO pairings for-Bitcoin -Litecoin -Ethereum -Digibyte -Vertcoin -Ravencoin -Reddcoin -Navcoin -Groestlecoin -Dogecoin -Monacoin -Decred -FlO And they always add more as per requestsThey donate some of their earnings to these projects monthly, the complete opposite of something like Binance. They never hold any of your money, you’re always in control of your keys I’m not affiliated with them nor can I use their service at the moment because they don’t have support for Canadians yet but I want to get the word out there. We speak with our dollars, and I’d hope people would support an exchange like this over coinbase/Binance

Depression and life of a crypto trader

Hey everyone, just feel like I need a place to write down my thoughts. Have been trading crypto full time for the past 5 years almost 6 years now. Basically traded my social life for being on the computer 24/7 for the past 5 years learning and trading. Girlfriend left shortly after I found Bitcoin in 2014. Lost contact with almost all my friends in the process as well. Feel like my social life skills have deteriorated. Just have relationships with fellow crypto traders on the net now...I only have myself to blame though as I let crypto consume my entire life. I have lived and breathed it for the past years and I now find myself on a different level financially than all my peers. Now that Bitcoin is finally becoming more mainstream some old friends of mine are really making an effort to reach out and ask questions...I told them all to get involved years ago. Seems like they only care to reach out now they see I’ve made so much money.I see the world so much differently now that I am not worried about making money...feel like I can see who is fake and real now towards me. Family is all I have left. Even they feel distant now...I also just look around and feel horribly sad. Everyone I know has to work 9-5. Something just doesn’t feel right in this world. I feel alone. No amount of money can change this feeling.Anyways. I just wanted to make a post put my thoughts out there as they’ve been driving me crazy. I need to get off the PC and back in the gym and get my head right ....I know we are truly apart of something amazing here and most of the world does not fully understand yet. These hard times will pay off in the future. Anyone else going through similar stuff just keep your head up and stay focused.

Google and NASA have reached quantum supremacy in a year collaboration. What does it mean for future blockchain security?

As can be read in this article. Although quantum supremacy simply means that at least 1 specific problem has been proven to be solved by a quantum computer that can't be solved (in a realistic timeframe) by any existing classical computer, it is a very important milestone. Many have been skeptical on crossing this milestone at all.Supremacy does not mean that current cryptography is at risk tomorrow. It does however prove quantum computing is real, and has advantage over classical computers in certain tasks as has always been thought. For blockchain this means that in the future, Shor's algorithm could be used to break ECDSA, the signature scheme that is used in most blockchain. This signature scheme can be upgraded to a quantum resistant signature scheme. It does come with specific challenges though. As opposed to banks, websites, government systems, email services etc, blockchain is decentralized. That makes the following challenges exclusive blockchain challenges:QR crypto will influence performance of current blockchainsThere is no drop in replacement.Consensus will be needed. However consensus on the result (quantum resistance) will be a given, the consensus on how to reach this and when to implement is not going to be a smooth process due to the fact different schemes and ways of implementation are possible.User migration. All users need to migrate their coins to new QR addresses. If this is not done by the full 100% of all users, a certain % of the circulating supply will stay vulnerable to hacks. Such a hack will influence the value of all coins, including the ones on QR addresses.Lost addresses. These are addresses nobody has access to. Like the Satoshi addresses (which have full published public keys) and all addresses of which people have lost their private keys. These will stay vulnerable for ever.Time factor. More on the timeframe on upgrading existing cryptocurrencies here. (To make a complete and realistic estimate of the expected timeline for upgrading and migration we use Mosca’s theorem of risk determination.)Consider the full analysis on this subject hereBlockchains that implement quantum resistance from the very beginning, from genesis block, will not face these challenges. See for example QRL which has launched over a year ago.

https://ift.tt/2QiEBFz - by the numbers.Basically now this means if we were to see collusion for a > 50% attack, it would be just a little bit more difficult for such a type of attack to take place. This also slightly decentralizes the distribution of Nano across nodes a little bit more.Discuss?

Nano principal representatives just became more decentralized than Bitcoin mining pools (x-post r/nanocurrency)

Check it out for yourself: https://ift.tt/32OsDF5 is a good example of how Nano's Open Representative Voting consensus mechanism leads to more decentralization over time.Nano users (not miners) have direct control over the network's level of decentralization, and they can remotely re-delegate their voting weight to anyone at any time.Sources:https://ift.tt/2LAxeF6

Have you guys read XRP's ledger? I hadn't, but wow.

I learned an extremely valuable lesson, always do your own research.I feel foolish, but I've pretty much always ignored XRP, and thought it was centralized, a bullshit coin, etc etc from what I've read here and other random articles.Today I stayed home from work sick, and decided to actually read XRP's ledger and see what it's all about.I'm not very technical / still working on understanding some concepts, but it took me about 2 hours with some googling to understand how the xrp network works and what the future may hold. The Consensus Protocol + Independent Validator Servers is an fantastic concept.TDLR: Can someone please prove me wrong, or offer counter arguments to my conclusions:1) It appears to me like XRP is an extremely fast, efficient way to transfer money from different currencies, with no drawbacks.2) It appears to be deflationary, since a small amount of tokens are forever deleted after transactions.3) It appears to be more decentralized than bitcoin, with a plan in place that will within years have it so the ripple foundation can no longer block consensus votes for changes to the xrp chain and more independent validator servers will be added.4) Why wouldn't I use this over Nano, BTC, Stellar, and similar coins for sending and receiving small payments?

Which currency would you want to use the most for everyday transactions?

I have been lurking and on/off buying, holding, selling small amounts of various crypto currencies for the past several years. But a question occurred to me the other day after researching some of the less common ones like DAI: if the world adopted a single cryptocurrency, as it is today, as it’s main and only way to buy and sell everything from houses to pizzas to futures contracts, which currency would you want it to be? I think this question is important in terms of determining the potential of any given currency to become a viable form of exchange in the long run. What do y’all think?

The content that everyone wants to see in this sub...

couldn't help but notice by taking a quick glance over /r/cryptomarkets and /r/cryptocurrency we could see reports that are (almost entirely) fully reduntant. These two kinds of stories where titles basically say, "Fuck the USA, cuba is using bitcoin!" and another one that says, "USA loves bitcoin, North Korea is getting punished!" and they seem to have heavily conflicting tones, especially when Trump openly came out and said, "I am not a fan of bitcoin..."https://ift.tt/2I9kWl3 - these two stories in particular make me wonder what everyone is thinking at present.

SONM EXIT SCAM? - 43 million - new type of scam

Sonm Status Announcement 🇬🇧 Date: 12 Sep 2019.Sonm development is finished, Sonm is implemented and is operational for more than a year so far. Today Sonm goes into the public domain (with the limitations of GPL) as a decentralized open-source platform. Project is open for everyone's usage and we use it ourselves.Today Sonm features: - A decentralized PC-sharing network, open for public usage. - An order of hundred active machines in the network. - The unknown number (probably tens or hundreds but we do not know this for sure) of standby machines. - Documentation portal https://docs.sonm.io/ -- Including all the required setup guides -- And usage manuals - All source code is published on the Github https://ift.tt/2pQmtBo, where anyone is free to send a pull request, including sample applications templates: -- Software bot for automated resource provisioning and mining job launching https://ift.tt/34HlGrk -- A reference implementation of a parallel execution module for massive task execution on Sonm https://ift.tt/2LTXkSq - PoA sidechain https://ift.tt/2Ox6Qiu - Sidechain explorer https://ift.tt/2LRZlhU which is a unique one of a kind solution with the source code https://ift.tt/34EqRbn - Web wallet GUI hosted at Sonm website (with a tracker) https://ift.tt/2LQ9qMr and a version hosted on the Github (without a tracker) https://ift.tt/34IzXDY with the source code https://ift.tt/2LPkw4l - The platform is integrated with KYC service provider https://ift.tt/34Gpqcw today Sonm development and adoption is a community affair, the team ceases to fulfill a leading and representative role and will focus on its projects in the nearby field.Due to the great potential of fog computing and due to significant applied developments in this area, the former employees of the Sonm company, headed by I. Lebedev, plan to continue working as a new private independent company:Developing cloud render farm Rays as a private startup, raise fundings and run commerce.Rays will continue using Sonm because Sonm is outstanding and we know this because we implemented it and it works for us. Sonm gives you an ability to rent machines times cheaper than in the cloud, no alternative solutions are providing these advantages. We are considering other applied project ideas to monetize Sonm hardware, including GPU cloud and ML platform. We will develop Sonm platform as a public domain open source based on common rights (as part of the community) when this will align with our project interests (today this is Rays) and propose network upgrades when new versions will be out.We are accepting to fulfill the role of maintainers for public domain Sonm platform source code repositories: -- review and approve pull requests -- sometimes bring our pull requests -- provide tech support in our chats, share knowledge -- maintain the minimum required infrastructure and solve related technical issues. In other words, we plan to develop our own projects on Sonm and invite everyone to join. Shall you need help - we are here to support, send us a message.Additional facts: - We will now start publishing non-periodic Sonm reports when we will have something to share with you. - We have a task left, which we seek to finish - to launch the masternodes and transition the infrastructure maintenance to the community. Until then the infrastructure is on us. - Websites and related resources, such as packet distribution services - will all continue working, this is on us too. From what we know Sonm is being used by at least: - Rays startup - CraftML startup

iExec & IOTA are invited to Europe Space Agency ESA, to talk about how they can improve Earth Observation

https://ift.tt/2LQt7Uv forward to see what can come out of these discussions in the future. Use cases could be that weather stations are polled every x seconds and that a advanced script then processes that data on the iExec network for accurate predictions etc.Don't know why more people scoop up some rlc.. It already got a 900k grant from the government, and it has a lot of company relationships, government interest etc. Not to mention they own more fiat worth of ETH then the whole RLC market cap.iExec is about to release v4 in december, which will finally add the sidechain, making iExec competive AND highly secure for computing tasks. It will also add GPU support to make specific tasks a lot more efficient, and it releases bag of tasks soon, making you able to execute many tasks on a single transaction.(As you can see above, i'm a fan of iExec, but ofcource also want to congratulate IOTA for also being part of improving Earth observation)
