DENT Exchange live. Time to recognize DENT!

Hey /r/CryptoCurrency,Have you heard of DENT? DENT has just launched the DENT Exchange (https://dent.exchange/), available in 28 countries, with more coming the next weeks, where you can trade DENT against mobile data packages and against some cryptos. More than 7.5 million users from 141 operators in 41 countries were already buying DENTs through the DENT app (available on Google Play and App Store) to get mobile-data recharge. Is part of their ambitious plan to "tokenize, liberate and democratize mobile data and bandwidth", commodities in the 21th century.Dent is doing an incredible job at accelerating adoption of cryptocurrencies with a real use case. I must highlight that those users are common users. Your teacher, your grandpa, your neighbour... they do not have to know anything about cryptocurrencies. They just download the app and use it in a very intuitive way. They can buy DENTs through the app with PayPal, or can earn DENTs through the "Offer Wall" by completing tasks like watching videos or playing games. Then use those DENTs to top-up their phones, or even top-ups relatives or friends abroad.http://bit.ly/2AmHn2s else is coming on Q1 2019?Sell your unused data! Today, if you buy 5GB of data but only use 4GB, you lost that 1GB you didn't use. Soon, that will change thanks to DENT. You are going to be able to sell it on the market and get DENTs. You can then use them, for example, to buy data when you visit another country and avoid the high costs of roaming because you will buy the data of another Dent user that sells his own unused data at market price. So, not only we can buy mobile data directly to operators through the app, but we will also buy to other users. This is not merely an idea, they already signed an agreement with PLDT Hong Kong.Voice calls and SMS. DENT app to app (FREE), DENT to mobile and DENT to landline.Video calling."Afterburner" loyalty program will offer discounts on data purchases and telephony minutes, and trading fee discount when trading crypto to crypto to those users that hold dent tokens on their mobile wallets.Much more, take a look at the roadmap. Some facts/numbers:7.5+ million app users between Google Play and App Store versions. (On Google Play still shows "1,000,000+ installs" because it doesn't update every one million, the next step is "5 million". It should not take long to reach there because there are more Android users than IOS and add tens of thousands of users per day.)17,400+ reviews on Google Play with an average of 3.9/5 stars.Telcos (telephone companies) participate in this disruption, instead of being disrupted themselves. They earn money on commissions and expand their market, between other benefits. How did I not hear about this before?DENT has been keeping a low profile since the experienced group of professionals behind prefers to dedicate themselves to working hard and develop a solid service, and I would say it is just these days that their marketing starts to take flight. You can follow them on /r/dent, @dentcoin and also join the Telegram group (dentcoin) where the co-founder Mikko Linnamäki shares the latest advances and even answers users questions. Also, consider that the volume generated by Dent users is not shown on sites like CoinMarketCap, yet. Now that the Dent Exchange is live, it will be connected and the volume will be visible on Q1 2019.PD: These are just some of lots of things they are doing and planing to do (e.g. towards 5G, IOT, eSim) but I wanted a short condensed post to capture your attention and give it an opportunity. If you find DENT interesting, you can read their whitepaper. I do not work for DENT but I'm fascinated by these achievements and ideas, and I do believe it deserves more recognition.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sztUUJRZezYWhat are your thoughts?

We should do something as a community to get CoinMarketCap and other sites to stop listing SCAM EXCHANGES

It's no surprise to anyone that there are a lot of Chinese rip offs and scam exchanges popping up recently. In fact, almost all of the fake ones or scammy ones have way more volume than their real counterpart due to wash trading.I feel that we as a community should raise awareness on this issue so that new comers won't fall victims to these exchanges.Eg.Real DealChinese Rip offBitMEXBitMax, CoinMexBitfinexBitforex, DigifinexCoinbaseCoinbeneInterestingly a lot of these "scam" exchanges have their UI very similar to each other and are all launched during or around the December 2017 euphoria phase.http://bit.ly/2AnN8g0

How i became a crypto-mining millionarie in under 2 years during a bear market.

Have the mindset in crypto that everyone is against you. They are using you for their own benefit/gains. No matter what type of relationship you have with individuals you meet online at the end of the day it means nothing. You steal 100k? Its forgotten after a while, You donated 100k? it's forgotten after a while. Nobody truly gives a shit. It's just them reacting too a certain situation in the moment. The reality is they only care about themselves and theirs nothing wrong with that. I remember reading threads on /r/cryptocurrency in the last bull-run where everyone was holding hands, singing kumbaya, and talking about lambos... Did you guys all think you were gonna make gains? Someone has to lose for the other person to win. High majority of this space works just like a ponzi and it should be treated as such.Unlike most people who's daily source of crypto-related news come from social media platforms like reddit/4chan/twitter/facebook and hoping to get spoonfed. I scoured through different untapped platforms(which im not going to list). This was tedious and took hours upon hours without results for weeks at times. It was treated as a job. I've found coins like signatum, district0x, bulwark, lux, ravencoin, 0xbtc, haven , stellite, turtlecoin, snowblossom, amoveo, akroma and plenty of other coins that had insane pumps throughout the bear market.Example - http://bit.ly/2TkBo4Z dumped over $250,000 of RVN on "hodlers and true believers". at 750 satoshi on average when BTC was sitting at $10-11k and guess what? Im still a respected member of the community. Its actually quite hilarious. I basically stole money from everyone right under their nose and they all respect me.Once you located a specific PoW coin that has no Bitcointalk threads, no advertisement, no shills. Easier said then done. The next move is too read the white-paper.. No, im just joking! Seriously im joking. I honestly never read a single WP. The only thing i focused on was the fact how "whales" can shill the specific coin, is it unique?, is it trying to solve a pausible non-confusing problem irl? Does it have a famous company/developer/person attach too it? Are their nerds talking constantly in the discord room speaking in jibberish tech talk? Any well-known individuals sitting in said discord rooms? These are the only things i look for. Because crypto is all based on speculation/hype. That's what drives the prices.Once you locate something that meets the requirement. You mine it. You don't dare talk about it. You don't post about it. You mine it/invest in it for 2 month or so, this is a high risk/high reward, but that's the game we're in. Once a thread is created "shilling" that specific coin. It's almost always too late unless you got in at the very beginning of the shilling. The pump occurs because "whales" are helping push the price upwards and that mixed with new investors it creates a situation where the only way the price too go is up. It's very easy to manipulate a market when their is almost no liquidity in said coin.Once the coin reaches a certain peak.. This is when the miners/investors will dump and basically all the new investors end up losing money and blame the developers of said coin too be a scam, but the reality is it's us the miners/investors the ones who sat up all night researching, looking for new coin projects, and got in early are the one's scamming you. Yes, the ones telling you to HODL, the ones giving you the information about how great X specific coin is, we're the one unloading on you. That friendly guy giving you information and is a great community member... ya ur making that guy rich while you lose ur shirt. He doesn't honestly give a flying fuck about you, its a illusion.. remember that. This is a dirty fcking game and it's basically blood money, the only people making money in this game are the developers, people who create content, shovel sellers, exchange owners, hackers, and scammers.I made a little bit over 7 figures and majority of it came from after the bullrun hype of 2017.Hate me all you want, but this is how the crypto mining game works. Peep game or live in denial.

Bitcoin is too risky... Wells Fargo says it also just admitted to stealing/scamming its own customers for 15 years!

Wells Fargo has been stealing from its customers for years! Surprise Surprise...NOTMost banks have been stealing from customers and the data is intense, the fines alone near the total market cap for cryptocurrency. If those are the fines guess how much actual money left to never be replaced again.... Pretty sad if you would ask me.We all know these banking institutions do not give a crap about us they will do whats best for their own needs and when they get caught they pay a small portion compared to what they truly captured for themselves. What I find most intriguing is that the public hear about it and then life moves on.To me this is why we need Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. We need it to keep things transparent and stop the big bankers from ruining innocent peoples lives for their own gain. All I want to do is educate the masses so they see the truth not what the media is showing! What do you all think we should do? Will bitcoin be the solution to the problems we currently face?Lets get a discussion about this going because I think there is a lot that we can explore via intellectual conversation about this topic!Joel KovshoffSources:https://www.cnbc.com/2018/12/28/wells-fargo-to-pay-at-least-500-million-in-settlement-with-us-states.htmlhttps://www.ccn.com/wells-fargo-says-bitcoin-too-risky-for-clients-pays-575-million-fine-for-scamming-them/https://www.cheatsheet.com/money-career/wells-fargo-ripping-off-people.html/https://www.clarionledger.com/story/news/2018/12/28/miss-collect-2-5-wells-fargo-consumer-laws-violations/2432192002/

Bitcoin Cash Block Sizes Average Less Than 100 KB, Defeating The Point Of Its Creation

http://bit.ly/2EVxU51 Cash (BCH) forked from the Bitcoin (BTC) blockchain in August 2017, amid a heated block size debate. At the time the Bitcoin network was undergoing congestion due to increased transaction frequency and transaction fees began to exceed $1, going as high as $3 in June 2017.The Bitcoin Cash community thought that increasing Bitcoin’s block size limit was the best method to increase scalability. Initially, when Bitcoin Cash was created, it had a block size limit of 8 MB, and this was later increased to 32 MB. But Bitcoin Cash (BCH) has a very low rate of adoption, and block sizes currently average less than 100 KB, making the block size increase above Bitcoin’s (BTC) 1 MB totally pointless, defeating the purpose of Bitcoin Cash (BCH).The block explorer shows how Bitcoin Cash (BCH) cannot even reach 1 MB block sizes, let alone 32 MB. Block sizes of less than 10 KB are common, and there is an occasional block less than 1 KB. Blocks in excess of 100 KB are rare, and there are no blocks today anywhere near 1 MB. Therefore, Bitcoin Cash (BCH) could have a block size of 1 MB and function perfectly. The long term block size chart shows that block sizes have averaged well below 100 KB throughout December 2018.There are a few instances in 2018 when Bitcoin Cash (BCH) exceeded 1 MB block sizes. In early September average block size briefly hit 1-3 MB, but this was from a “stress test” to prove transaction fees do not increase from increased transactions on the network. In November, Bitcoin Cash (BCH) split into Bitcoin Cash ABC (now named Bitcoin Cash) and Bitcoin SV. The war between these Bitcoin Cash forks caused spam attacks that increased block sizes to 1-2 MB on average. On Jan. 15 the average Bitcoin Cash (BCH) block size approached 5 mb, coinciding with the price of Bitcoin Cash (BCH) crashing from $2,700 to $1,500. This is perhaps the 1 case where Bitcoin Cash’s network legitimately had block sizes over 1 Mb, but it was due to people dumping their Bitcoin Cash (BCH) as fast as possible in a panic selling situation. In summary, since Bitcoin Cash (BCH) has relatively low network activity when compared to Bitcoin (BTC), it seems that there was no point in creating Bitcoin Cash (BCH), since its block sizes are almost always below 100 KB.Bitcoin (BTC) seems to have resolved its transaction fee problems with Segregated Witness (SegWit), which increases the block size to 1.2 MB on average. This is done by redefining the block size in terms of 1,000 units instead of 1,000 KB, and separating the witness data (signature data) from the Merkle Tree and counting each KB of the witness data as ¼ of a unit. Also, the Bitcoin Lightning Network is maturing and can handle as much transaction volume as Bitcoin needs without increasing on-chain transactions or block size. In November 2018, the Lightning Network rapidly grew in capacity due to increasing Bitcoin transaction volume and proved that it is a solution which can completely mitigate rises in Bitcoin transaction fees. The fact that Bitcoin (BTC) has become scalable to increased transaction frequency makes the creation of Bitcoin Cash (BCH) even more pointless.

I got scammed by a mod called r/shimmyjimmy97. Suddenly i received the message “Your contributions to /r/CryptoCurrency have granted you access to custom flair options.” I was fine with the flair Crypto GOD but thought why not make something funny that no one else has right?? So i changed it to “NOT GIVING AWAY FREE ETH!!”.Apparently i made a HUGE mistake and have no right for a second chance. Because right now this dude changed my flair to ETH SCAMMER. A flair is a nice gimmick, i don’t really care if i have it or not. But to give me a mark like that after 5 years of roaming reddit without ANY issues this is just BS.So i would ask you to please remove the flair, check my history i’m a legit guy ffs and not a criminal. Please upvote for visibility.Edit: This is what he said after i pointed out i had the same flair on cryptomarket for like half a year.Edit2: he removed it, I’m leaving this up because he gave me hart attack and others need to be aware.

Concerning things happening with Walton's "not so main" main net

As many of you may know Walton released its "main net" earlier this year in March after it being delayed a few times. The reason I have main net in quotes is because it is not quite a main net but not really a test net either. Currently there are miners on the chain who are securing the network and getting coins. However, they are not getting the erc20 coins nor the actual WTC coins. They instead are getting WTCT coins that are then exchanged for the erc20 coins to cove mining costs. There are transactions on the chain but they a very few, and when the real Genesis block happens all coins will be reset to whoever mined them. Also, the swap only gives coins to the people who mined them, so in theory the transactions are just to test the network. Therefore, we can see that the chain is not fully functional mainnet but is more than a test.Three issue with the network.Pre-mining- The mining address in question is Address. Somehow this address acquired the full node files and started mining the coin roughly 1 hr before anybody else had begun to. Now 1hr does not sound like a lot of time but in that time the address was able to mine 600 blocks with zero competition and another 100 with slight competition. In total they mined 998 block (2 coins) and the vast majority of those came when they were the only ones mining the network. At first they were mining 1 block per second. The 998 blocks equals 1996 WTC. At today's value they are worth a little over $2400, $80,000 at the ATH, and $400,000if WTC reaches $200. The value of the pre mine isnt going to be damning but in principle it is concerning. Either someone close to the Walton team had access to the node software and use that to almost 2000 coins at low costs(next to nothing difficulty), or the team is incompetent and let the software get leaked before they announced it.Nonce Hack- This is a little more straightforward. In short a miner used a nonce hack described here . Using this hack and using several mining rigs he mined 2975 blocks, at one point getting 150+ per day. "Conveniently" the miner started the bulk of his mining when the higher rewards for GMN holders kicked in. So instead of the 2 coins per block he received 3 per block. This gave him roughly 8900 coins valued at roughly $11,000 today, $356,000 at the ATH, and $1.78 million at a hypothetical $200 per coin. (Unrealistic to me but the Walton team is convinced they will be a top 4 coin.Address with impossible amount of coins- The address in question for this concern is shown here. This address has over 60 million of the WTCT coins. This is concerning because there have been only 1 million coins mined on the network and this address only has 7 transactions none of which show how they got the coins. In fact the biggest transaction is them sending 10 million coins to another address. That address than sent a lot of coins to the MN and GMN holders for their mining. The 60 Million is also bigger than the total of erc20 coins in circulation (40 million). So it appears that this address was created to fund the MN and GMN miners, but why would they need to create 60M when they only needed little over 14M? One has to ask if it is all concerning that the team can create 60M coins out of thin air. These coins can also be swapped for the erc20 coins using the same process that pays the miners. Im not sure if the team would ever do that but the fact that it is a possible (yet perhaps improbable) thing is alarming. This team has shown itself to be incompetent in many areas and situations so the fact they have 60 million swap ready coins should be alarming. The three things above are at the very least puzzling, perhaps concerning, and potentially disturbing

The Curious Case of the Nano shill

I'm almost 1.5 years into crypto and yes, I bathe in my own blood. (-80%) In the recent weeks, I have noticed an uptick in Nano shills on this sub. Not just regular "please buy my bags" shill but the more dangerous intelligent shill challenging your perspective and your need to know more about this project. Disclosure; I own 0 nano, just heavy bags of BTC VET and oddly REQ. I've read up allot on NANO and I'm slowly appreciating most of its superior aspects as a CC as compared to BTC, I know btc is an "eldergod" crypto but can't help but enjoy the Nano FOMO RN.To be honest this shill is oddly similar to the REQ shill ($4000 that I will never see again) I have faced the bear bravely but wouldn't want to blow my fiat on another shitcoin (REQ holders wake up)Tell me Morpheus, how deep does this NANO rabbit hole go?

Demand for Crypto Will Increase in a Global Recession

Crypto is fueled by gamblers and drug businesses. Gambling and drugs in general are $500B+ and $300B+ annual revenue markets. When people lose their jobs, the demand for escaping reality with get-rich-quick fantasies will increase.http://bit.ly/2Tj2N7F author finds that lottery sales are sensitive to the state unemployment rate, increasing by about 0.17% for each 1% increase in that rate. The only gambling sector that appears to be recession proof is lottery consumption. This series is characterized by a vast and solid growth that appears to be independent of the business cycle and of temporary shocks to income.Casino expenditures appear to have significant positive growth during both expansion and recession. When people lose their jobs, more people will turn to using and dealing drugs.http://bit.ly/2CCS6XM synthesized 28 studies published between 1990 and 2015. Most evidence (17 studies) was found for the counter-cyclical mechanism that recessions and unemployment increase psychological distress, which increases drug use. Mainly supportive evidence for this mechanism was found in several high quality studies, in different contexts, and in a diverse number of countries and samples. In contrast, decreased income did not seem to decrease drug use (10 studies).http://bit.ly/2Tii090 money worth billions of dollars kept the financial system afloat at the height of the global crisis, the United Nations' drugs and crime tsar has told the Observer.Antonio Maria Costa, head of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, said he has seen evidence that the proceeds of organised crime were "the only liquid investment capital" available to some banks on the brink of collapse last year.He said that a majority of the $352bn (£216bn) of drugs profits was absorbed into the economic system as a result.According to the United Nations World Drug Report, adoption of crypto for buying drugs has grown every year.http://bit.ly/2CEWSUR of surveyed Global drug users who purchased drugs via the darknet:2014: 4.7%2015: 5.9%2016: 7.6%2017: 7.9%2018: 9.3%This March 2018 Bromium research report corroborates the growing adoption of crypto:http://bit.ly/2Tb0tPK to the report, cybercriminal proceeds make up an estimated 8-10 percent of total illegal profits laundered globally; amounting to an estimated $80-$200 billion each year.Virtual currencies have become the primary tool used by cybercriminals for money launderingThis Elliptic research report states that more than 50% of DNM users are still sending BTC directly to the markets without mixing:http://bit.ly/2CCS8yS the perspective of businesses that are worried about seizures, Bitcoin and Monero are lower-risk assets than cash and gold (if the BTC and XMR are stored properly).

The Underdogs that will label 2019 as the year of adoption

We've seen 2018 as the premise of the Purge. Purging of what? The shitcoins of course. We're seeing Projects being Stress-Tested as the market had weakend to a striking low and scams struggle to stay afloat. When the market is in the bear, we begin to see better projects come out. The underdogs that have been working hard because they know that they have a reason to exist in the space, a market to cater, and communities to support. Some projects are heavy in marketing Sea Monkeys, and are a success in raising bonkers amounts. But do they have what is sustainable and keep things going? I think we need to look at the fundamentals, and the landscape we're coming in to.Governments are picking up the pace, Regulators are sowing the loopholes. The features that makes a project worthy of sustainability is a winner in my books, and those I will hold for a very long time. From BTC to ETH, HOLO to LINK, NANO to WTC, and BNB to STEEM. Though these aren't perfect and are diverse, they have certainly laid down great ideas and are examples of projects that set a benchmark for others. My bet is that the underdogs are the gems that cater for the masses, and not restricted by classes. These can be P2P financing platforms, These can be Social Platforms, Sports Platforms, or most likely Decentralized Exchange platforms, where value is traded. The underdogs i believe would be ones that are aware or 'woke' on the market dynamics, and have an offering that is valuable for the masses at a whole. So tell me, who are the underdogs YOU believe will improve adoption?

Can I write off my coins lost in a scam exit by an ICO?

Yes, I know - I was dumb enough to believe in Oyster and bought 8k worth of Shell last year during the bearish downtrend thinking it was going to succeed as a project. That cocksucker Bruno dumped on everyone and exit scammed. Then kucoin and that piece of shit team locked my SHL tokens before I was able to sell and salvage whatever it was worth. Now they’re worth literally nothing and the team moved onto their next scam called “Opacity” lashing at SHL investors holding useless bags that they “owe them nothing” and it’s “Oyster’s problem” those bastards. My questions is, for this coming tax season, am I allowed to write this off as a lost? And do I have to have proof of the purchase of the SHL tokens through Kucoin? Hopefully someone has some thoughts on this... first time getting scammed like this. 🙁

Bitmain's latest attempt to avoid bankruptcy: Bitdeer, a Genesis Mining clone.

Bitdeer is a cloud based mining offering that is similar to famed Genesis Mining. You:Take on BTC price volatilty risk on behalf of BitmainLend money to Bitmain, a company that has all the hallmarks of being on the verge of bankruptcyTake on the hash risk: the presence of S15s in the offerings shows that Bitmain is sitting on unsold S15 inventory that has yet to come online. This indicates a probable rise in future BTC hashrates and resulting fall in the profitability of those cloud packages. The packages offer various degrees of credit risk vs. price risk. As durations increase, credit and hashrate risks increase while the returns offered are greater. The pricing in itself is a clue as to how desperate for cash Bitmain is.Looking at the 30 day special offer (on normal pricing you are guaranteed to lose money from day one):The 30 day 100 Th/s 'special' is as follows:$120 or $4 per day advance to Bitmain$13 'maintenance fee' per day ($0.13/T/Day)For a total cost of $17 per day.CryptoCompare show forecast revenues of $18.69 per day (based on $3,796.26/BTC and an optimistic total BTC hashrate estimate of 36.5Eh/s) or in other words, a 9% gross profit margin not including CC fees, fiat currency risk (if not in USD) and such.Additionally, if BTC falls below $2,602 (equivalent to $0.13/T/Day in the package above) then mining rewards will stop being given to you altogether as they are below 'maintenance' costs and your $120 contract advance will not be refunded: you lose it all, Genesis style. Same if total BTC hashrate goes above a certain threshold (somewhere above 50Eh/s) and the lower mining rewards fail to cover the maintenance costs. In summary:For a likely diminishing 9% gross return you have to take on the price risk of BTC over a period of 30 days, and the credit risk of a company that has failed to pay its debts since November (to gamble on shitcoins).Or in other wordsHaving raped and pillaged the crypto industry for years, Bitmain is still not in the business of offering fair business deals.

1.2k BTC account blocked - Binance please lend me your assistance

You probably all know who I am now as I’ve been writing weekly updates about my situation and posting it here. A long number of weeks ago, Binance blocked my account that had 1.2k BTC in it. I tried to get to the bottom of why, and basically they just kept giving me short, vague answers to contact law enforcement. I have a lawyer who is working on it too. When they changed their answer on me three times, what it did was confuse me. I’m not sure what the real problem is, if it is internal or external, and some proper assistance from them would really help me. I guess the fact that they changed their reply a few times is not really my issue now. Getting some clear, step-by-step guidance as to what exactly to do from this point would be nice. I would simply like to get my money back and in order to do that, I need some support from Binance’s side as to what to do next. Opening a dialogue with them where we can speak and work together to fix the problem is all I’m asking for.I do understand that within the terms of Binance and how big they are and how many people use their platform, me and my money are just a small sum, but for me it’s a lot of money. That’s why I keep posting. I’ve been more than ready and willing to give Binance all they would need to show that I am who I really am and that my account was being used correctly. But it’s even more of an uphill battle every day, and the fact that they won’t even try to help me makes it even harder.Anyways, hopefully I will get a good Christmas present in the form of help from Binance. I want to wish everyone a Happy Holidays and let you all know that I appreciate your support.

Be careful when buying some of these low market cap coins on Binance

Crypto is a mine field. It has been for a long time and in this bear market projects are exposing themselves more and more. Don't think that you're safe if you avoid smaller exchanges as there are a few coins that don't quite add up on Binance too. This post isn't to FUD but to make people aware and to dig a little deeper on the projects you buy into. We should help out one another when we can. That's what this reddit should do more of.It takes a second to look into projects and start forming puzzles that don't quite add up. Projects need to realise this isn't December 2017 any longer so people aren't going to blindly throw money at you without calling you out.Case in point CMT #138 on CMC. I did some sleuthing as I was curious to know how they beat XMR in a 'battlebracketz' voting tournament. Well:"decentralised blockchain for e-commerce. We are going to disrupt Amazon!" takes 5 mins to discover it's 5 miles raising 30million on an ICO. using that money to fund their Dallas mavericks sponsorship. Bringing the cybermiles "CEO" along with a 30 second meet and greet with mark cuban and then them acting like Mark Cuban is interested in cybermiles. The 5 miles CEO showed cuban the app and he asked if it was "a wallet" and they said no and he looked like he couldn't give a shit just happy to take you 3 year sponsorship money. The reality is cybermiles works with noomi wallet and that wallet created the tournament. Basically their way to pump up their own coin. Not to mention tweeting that they have a google partnership and then deleting it.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NeqqrObV21oNext up: ARN (AERON) #385 on CMC. I'm not sure how they were listed on Binance other than they paid for the listing. It was almost impossible to find information about it last year except from their website that claimed it would improve flight safety on the blockchain (Aviation on the blockchain)! And flight sharing for private jets... The only thing they have managed to do all year is create a flight website that allows you to buy stuff with BNB, ARN, BTC, and ETH. CZ tweeted about it because you could buy a 2nd-hand plane with BNB or ARN (basically using BNB to get a shameless plug). . Then to create a nice little PnD they created 'Crypto Bonus Miles' - frequent flyer points for holding ARN. When BTC dropped under 6k it ruined their PnD so the devs basically said they are delaying the airdrop because it's not fair that BTC ruined the airdrop (when I asked further questions I was banned from their telegram). To add to the craziness I was airdropped this CBM despite not holding ARN during the snapshot and only holding it for a few hours to ride a pump. Any questions on telegram are ignored and they clearly have posters on their accusing you of "FUD" and "you're only FUDing to buy back cheaper". Again, all they have had is an updated website and not much esle.INS (now Insolar). #240 on CMC. Their ICO last year promised "Decentralized Ecosystem Directly Connecting Grocery Manufacturers and Consumers". An interesting idea and the team have a proven track record in the grocery industry. A year on and they have zero to show for it. They have re-branded from 'INS world' to 'Insolar'. They have all but abandoned their use case and opted for a generic "we will do everything". When asked about this the admin team stated that there wasn't a blockchain good enough for us so we decided to create our own...a year after the ICO wrapped up. Could you not have researched this before ICO or during the year? Now the telegram is fluff generic responses over and over and they avoid anything serious. Their use cases are a catch all http://bit.ly/2Rhp5Ju, this isn't FUD. These are all facts and just a warning. They still get decent volume on Binance. I assume it's mostly bots because their reddits are empty and their other channels are mostly bots and admin. Be careful out their and don't fall for these projects that hype airdrops or new websites with zero product. Some of these lower caps will pull every trick in the book to try and bleed all the money they can from people and then soft exit out later. If you are from one of these projects start cleaning up your act, stop banning people for asking legitimate questions, and referring to # of github commits as some badge of hour (knowing full well the community doesn't have a clue how to interpret what they are). My apologies if you hold these 3 projects but don't comment if you're just going to blindly defend them just because you fall for the tribalism that exists in crypto and this reddit. Stay safe out there.

Bitcoin Private (BTCP) Is Easy to 51 Percent Attack and Has a Hidden 2.04 Million Coin Premine

http://bit.ly/2AbD8Xl War On Shitcoins Episode 8: Bitcoin Private (BTCP). The war on shitcoins is a Crypto.IQ series that targets and shoots down cryptocurrencies that are not worth investing in either due to their being scams, having serious design flaws, being centralized, or in general just being worthless copies of other cryptocurrencies. There are thousands of shitcoins that are ruining the markets, and Crypto.IQ intends to expose all of them. The crypto space needs an exorcism, and we are happy to provide it.Bitcoin Private (BTCP) is one of numerous Bitcoin forks but is perhaps one of the more well-known forks. Bitcoin Private (BTCP) launched in March 2018, and in April, briefly attained a market cap of $1.5 billion. However, Bitcoin Private (BTCP) is a good example of how market cap is a poor measure of the legitimacy or usefulness of a cryptocurrency. In October, a hacker live streamed a 51 percent attack against Bitcoin Private (BTCP) for fun, using hash power rented from a cloud mining site. Now it has come to light that the Bitcoin Private developer team minted an extra 2.04 million BTCP during the genesis fork and hid this fact from the public. Essentially, Bitcoin Private (BTCP) is a shitcoin because it lacks security and has corrupt developers, as we’ll explain in this article.Anyone Could 51 percent Attack Bitcoin Private (BTCP)A hacker who uses the pseudonym “Geocold” wanted to prove to the world how easy it is to 51 percent attack a cryptocurrency, even a cryptocurrency with a market cap in excess of $50 million at the time, one like Bitcoin Private (BTCP).Perhaps Geocold was inspired by Crypto51, a website that calculates how affordable it is to perform a 51 percent attack on various cryptocurrencies. Currently Bitcoin Private is still extremely vulnerable to a 51 percent attack since the total network hash rate is seven MH/s and uses the equihash algorithm.Crypto51 indicates it costs a mere $48 to 51 percent attack Bitcoin Private (BTCP) for an hour, so perhaps for less than $200 a hacker could perform a sustained and devastating attack that would decimate Bitcoin Private (BTCP). It seems like most major exchanges have delisted Bitcoin Private (BTCP) after Geocold’s initial livestream, but several exchanges still offer Bitcoin Private (BTCP), which is a true disservice to their customers and puts the exchange itself at risk. The Geocold livestream 51 percent attack of Bitcoin Private (BTCP) caused a media frenzy in the crypto space. Many thought it should be illegal to attack a cryptocurrency, and indeed Twitch and Stream.me banned Geocold’s account. Geocold obtained 62.5 percent of the Bitcoin Private (BTCP) hash rate and was successfully mining blocks and was ready to perform the double spend attack, but he only stopped because he lost his streaming account. As we’ve mentioned, anyone with $50 and a little programming knowledge could perform a successful 51 percent double spend attack on Bitcoin Private (BTCP). Geocold was doing the crypto space a service by exposing this truth. In general, people should do research before investing or trading a cryptocurrency to ensure it is actually secure. In this case, Bitcoin Private (BTCP) obviously lacks security, yet it still has a market cap of tens of millions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of dollars of daily trading volume.Bitcoin Private (BTCP) Developers Secretly Premined 2.04 Million CoinsThe fact that Bitcoin Private (BTCP) can be so easily attacked makes it a shitcoin, but the revelation that the developers secretly mined 2.04 million BTCP during the genesis fork is the nail in the coffin. The whole idea behind Bitcoin Private is that it is Bitcoin integrated with Zclassic (similar to Zcash) privacy technology. This means there are stealth addresses and transparent addresses. The developers used this to their advantage, they minted 2.04 million BTCP and hid it in stealth addresses. Further, the developers released supply auditing checks for BTCP that purposely missed the hidden premine. It has been over 9 months since Bitcoin Private launched, and this is only being discovered now. The total supply of Bitcoin Private (BTCP) is supposed to be 21 million coins like Bitcoin, but there are already 22.6 million BTCP in existence and mining continues. It appears 300,000 BTCP from the hidden premine were dumped onto the market between July and August, coinciding with a price crash from $10 to $3. It is estimated that these dumped BTCP from the hidden premine netted the developers between $1 million and $3 million, while simultaneously the total BTCP market cap lost over $100 million. There is nothing to stop the developers from dumping the other 1.74 million BTCP that they have in their not-so-hidden premine. The market is reacting to this revelation, and the price of BTCP has dropped to $2. If the developers were to actually cash out this premine all at once it would completely saturate the order books and drop the price of BTCP to near zero.Even at this lower price the market cap of Bitcoin Private (BTCP) is in excess of $40 million. This makes zero sense for a cryptocurrency that can easily be 51 percent attacked by any script kiddie, while simultaneously the market could be sucked dry at any moment by the corrupt developers.

Pretty much not so good (what a surprise!).They're 25% down since that day and certainly will continue falling.I'm personally 100% sure they'll never recover from this and I'm really "grateful" that they destroyed some people's trust in crypto.Did you guys have any amount of that coin in your wallets and if yes did sell it right after the news?http://bit.ly/2Te6n2Q

XtraBytes slow and hidden exit scam

Probably you heard of XtraBytes before. It is the shitcoin making marketing for 2 years without any publication so far but claiming to have a revolutionary technology that one guy invented who is anonymous. The revolutionary code is hidden because they say they want to have a patent and all their believers are waiting for more than a years for this patent to be filed. Surprisingly this did not happen yet and no one has seen the code or can approve it even exist.Nothing of substance has been released for the last 2 years, no one can approve the code to exist. The developer is like lost, you never read anything from him. Just read some things on their discord, you will not find any proper answer to serious questions because all people asking critical questions are removed from their discord. Just try it on your own, go to their discord and ask some serious questions. You will NEVER get a proper answer, because they have none. How should they, they are empty handed. But the exit scam is already happening and the developers are involved. It is pretty simple by looking at it. They have "invented" a token out of thin air without the possibility to trade it except on their own platform for XBY which is not yet working on their own blockchain but on the old bitmox scam. They say it is a community coin but since the company is "XtraBytes Ltd" and filing a patent, this is for sure no community coin. They pay their developers in XFUEL and the developers trade their XFUEL to XBY with the community and people being dumb for trading their tradeable coins for untradeable coins. This is a pretty comfortable scam. Developers will build an illusion of developing something, like some designs of clients or a new website and get paid without the company having to invest any money. People stay confident because of the development and go on buying XBY from the developers who bought the XBY from them before with XFUEL, just to buy more XFUEL from them. The question is simple. If the developers are confident in their work, why selling their coins? Just imagine you are working for a company developing a blockchain project and being paid in their coins, would you sell the moment the project is not published or wait for it to be completed and go to the moon as it is predictable by the developers? It is not just one developer who might be short on money at the moment. No, you can see that all of them are selling XFUEL and they sell a lot!But see for yourself how all the developers are selling their XFUEL:https://i.redd.it/jhayjiek0m621.pnghttps://i.redd.it/nj39bphl0m621.pnghttps://i.redd.it/uf8gmy9m0m621.pnghttps://i.redd.it/tcq0kh1n0m621.pngDo not think I want to fool you, you can easily enter their discord and check all my screenshots and compare them with their channel.

2018 was beyond awful. Here is my case for a better 2019.

The bears’ narrative is running out of steam at this point. Crypto is not dead, and the fundamentals have never been stronger. There was a huge spike of volume that has been sustained for weeks now, so at least for now, it seems we have a trend reversal. The way the volume poured in and remained is nothing like the faux 6k bottom. While we may test the lows again, I think we have either bottomed or gotten super close to it. We still have to show strength for the next few months by bouncing back from any bearish movements, but overall, it seems that the worst is over. The good news is that most of the charlatans in the space have been ruined, and even if some of the legit projects also went under, the survivors will be just that much more resilient. 2019 will be the year that the space begins to mature. Things I am exited about:Improvements to Bitcoin fungibility and the growth of the lightning network.MKRDAO continuing to improve its DAI stablecoin through multi-asset collateralization.Tokenizing real estate on the blockchain — I’ve always wanted a piece of NYC real estate, and now I will be able to do just that.Financialization dapps. Very interested in mkr, compound, dharma, nexus mutual, bancor, and team just. I’m hoping Augur can grow some more, and Gnosis also is interesting.Improvements into Ethereum. Granted it may not happen in 2019, but Eth moving to PoS is super exciting. I picked up a bunch of eth when it was on super sale two weeks ago so I could run a staking node. In addition to getting Serenity up, Plasma chains, PoA chains, and Raiden network will all help with scaling Ethereum.Competing dapp platforms. Tron has been a pleasant surprise and I’d love to see what other platforms can bring to the table to compete with Eth.A plethora of stable coins trying different models. From regulated fiat backed tokens like GUSD/USDC, decentralized crypto collateralized DAI, and Haven Protocol’s XHV private off shore banking stablecoin experiment. Once merchants and suppliers can get payments using stablecoins, the money that goes into crypto will stay in crypto, reducing selling pressure.Security tokens. It would be super cool if a Fortune 500 company decided to tokenize its stock.Regulatory clarity. Encouraging bipartisan regulations were introduced to congress that could make a better ecosystem for traders and users and encourage more innovation from USA.Games. Loom is going to release their crypto zombie game, God’s Unchained will be released, and several more games are aiming for release. If people get these kinds of assets through smart phone apps, it offers a gateway to crypto that could even onboard people oblivious to cryptocurrency/blockchain.

This Proof of Keys event is going to be very interesting and beneficial

As you may have heard, the Proof of Keys event is aimed to have everybody move their funds from exchanges to their individual wallets by January 3rd. The purpose behind it is to expose the exchanges who are insolvent and don’t actually have your crypto, and to weed out the sham exchanges from the true legitimate ones. It’s about time the community has an event or a day like this every year to remind others the importance of keeping your own funds safe and away from centralized entities. It’s also important for educating those who bought, but are still too lazy to learn about this revolution and what this movement stood for to begin with. This is a grassroots movement and should require the help of the entire community to help others gain knowledge and help spread awareness.I cannot wait to see which exchanges will be the ones to get exposed (I’m looking at you, Conbase).

I created a pretty nice crypto ledger to keep track of everything I do

After months of being in the crypto space, I found it hard to keep track of all the coins I have, profits/losses, my mining equipment ROI, etc, so I created a ledger for myself. Fast forward 6-7 months of tweaks, redesigns and added features, I finally have something that is extremely easy to use, covers a wide variety of things such as trading, rentals, mining, profit calculators, etc and pulls the current pricing of the top 2000 coins from coinmarketcap (also, you can put in your own coins as well if they aren't listed there). I happened to be in a discord chat for one of the coin's i'm mining and one of the members was griping about keeping track of things, so i offered to send him a copy of my ledger. Turns out they, along with a ton of other members, absolutely loved it, so I figured i'd throw it up here and share with anyone who is in need of a decent ledger. I'm always open for comments, suggestions and fixes, so if anyone decides to use it and has some good ideas, throw them my way!Note: This ledger was created only for Microsoft Excel. Also, to be able to pull prices from coinmarketcap, you have to sign up for a free account there. The steps to do this are in the ledger as well.Download: http://bit.ly/2Q1iz4L also created a post on Bitcointalk here: http://bit.ly/2V52I9c

What are the major events coming up for ETH in the next year and beyond?I heard about the switch to prove of stake, how could this affect the price? I heard there will be 30% less ETH mined soon.Since there is no halving events, could there be just more and more ETH in the future, not having the BTC type of scarcity deflation? Why should there be price gains with ETH? Where do you bet the price to be 2, 3 years from now.

The Xtrabytes scam needs to be shut down and the people need to face criminal charges

I came across something the other day that caught my attention. I decided to finally read their first ever post: http://bit.ly/2m1CIt1 on bitcointalk.org. Until now, I had only looked at the first page or two. Some interesting bits from the first few pages:XBY co-founder, Borzalom says that he was an investor in Bitmox, a dead project that turned out to be a scam. He says he’s is going to repair Bitmox’s code and repair the node network, and that he is going to keep the coin and ticker, XBY, because it’s already listed on exchanges. Says he’s a ‘real person and real developer’ and that he is making the whole thing ‘transparent’.1 year and 10 months later, we have no actual proof that he is a real person (at least not who he claims to be). The proof he is a real developer is extremely limited. We have zero proof he is capable of developing what he claims he has. XBY has been anything but transparent. All 3 of these claims appear to be to entice people into buying into this scam.He claims he contacted C-Cex about what happened with Bitmox, and that they said the understood and will work with him, and that they have put the coin in ‘Maintenance’ mode. This should have NEVER been done, though it’s not surprising that C-Cex would do something this stupid. They should have delisted XBY, forcing Borzalom to start from scratch and apply for listing on the exchange with a new coin he has created. Had they done this, it’s likely this whole scam would have never happened, as he has shown no development skill and likely could not have made anything from scratch. He says he’s going to recover the blockchain, repair the code, hard fork XBY, and premine all the coins. He claims that premining will get the ‘best results’, which he says later on that the coin’s security depends on it [premining]. He says after the premine, all coins should be sent to an address that he claims is the Bitmox ICO address. I’m guessing that either 1. This was either his own wallet. 2. He somehow gained access and took over Bitmox’s wallet. 3. He was able to access the wallet because he was someone on the Bitmox team. He says he can’t do the premine because his graphics card isn’t good enough. So someone else will have to do it and then send the coins to the address. I suspect this is an attempt to cover his tracks and gain plausible deniability. Borzalom proceeds to list a ton of projects with the same code, which is full of scam code, Bitmox used to show they just copy and pasted the code. This is where he begins the ‘closed source project’No additional code has ever been shown. The new algorithm he claims to have created, Proof of Signature, has never been seen or proven. Given the details, It’s likely that he never did any additional coding after the hard fork.CCR comments discussing how this all started and shows an image of a post Borz made (assuming on bitcointalk), which caught his attention. Unfortunately the picture has been removed. He then says says he private messaged Borz, and that he ‘will show the first two messages’ and posts a picture, which has been removed. I’m assuming all this is to establish credibility and be transparent. But, it raises eyebrows more than it establishes credibility. Why only the first two messages? Why any at all? It’s too try-hard. I’m guessing after the first two messages, they began discussing how to shape this scam. He says that Borz is a ‘good man, with strong ethics, a brilliant mind, and a desire to create something great for the blockchain world.’ CCR says of himself: ‘ I too am an open and honest communicator with strong ethics and integrity, along with a desire to help people make money.‘He has not ever been an open and honest communicator. Neither of them exhibit strong ethics. Borzalom has yet to show his ‘brilliant mind’. The only desire either of them have shown is a desire to fuck people over. In this same comment, CCR tells the community, ‘We also do not ask that you trust us because we know trust is gained over time as we reach milestones...‘. I’m guessing this too was said in order to make them seem like honest, good people and gain credibility. They have stuck true to this belief in essence though. They did what they needed to do early on to gain trust. But, anyone that knows this team knows that they set minuscule milestones and act like they saved the world, while failing to deliver on the bigger milestones. If you care to continue reading, they get called out be being a scam within the first few pages by multiple users. The delays and stalls start almost immediately. Borz has never shown any additional code, as it doesn’t exist. Some additional links:This has all been discussed many times and this Bitcoin Talk post does a great job putting all the pieces together. Here is a post that contains a message from CCR says the patent is all a delay tactic.Within these posts, there are messages from CCR saying that he’s been selling his XBY. http://bit.ly/2Senste can find Borzalom‘ real identity, as well as old posts from 3 coins, like Identity, that he copied from someone else and then shut down abruptly out of nowhere. He claims he’s from Hungary, but he had a business registered in Florida. Everything points to him living in Florida. He’s not deaf and he’s not a world class coding god.It kind of becomes a rabbit hole of sorts, but if you care to read, it’s quite interesting and IMO proves without a doubt XtraBytes is 100% a scam.Nothing has changed. Borzalom and CCR are criminals. They deserve to be in prison. There is enough proof of XBY being a fraud and conversely no proof their technology exists whatsoever.XtraBytes needs to be shut down and the people responsible need to face criminal charges, that includes all their mods and team members that KNOW this is a scam, but keep it up because they’re being paid.

If you're located in the US, please take the time to contact your congressman using the link below.
