$60M ICO SCAM, uncovered serial perpetrators and credible evidence of money trail to Europe. How and where do I report it to ensure a investigation happens?

Feel like I’m in a Hitchcock movie…All started by trying to find out whats happening to a bad ICO investment and it points to what looks like network of criminal activity. I dont want to be involved but feel I better get the proper authorities to take this seriously and put these criminals where they belong.Really looking for any help or advice what to do.ACChain and Puyin Coin were ICO scams from China. They took > $60M USD (some estimates $100M+) of investor money, 6 arrests were made in Shenzhen China earlier this year, and most associated people disappeared. This was reported in Chinese media as Puyin Coin but the connection to ACChain wasn’t made clear and it didn’t get picked up outside China. Some links (google translate does an OK job)http://www.xinhuanet.com/fortune/2018-07/11/c_1123112514.htmhttp://www.gov.cn/xinwen/2018-04/25/content_5285740.htmhttp://finance.sina.com.cn/money/bank/bank_hydt/2018-05-16/doc-ihapkuvm6421288.shtml"Police also urged other fugitive suspects to surrender as soon as possible".Some not too bright or super greedy members of the project tried to keep the ACChain part of scam going even after the exit and arrests presenting on social media as everything is cool and while the old dumster is still smokin' they are even trying to roll out a third new scam and clearly have money coming in.https://ift.tt/2JxPvk5 Leveille and Serena Yin(admitted in own response and validated as the actual people and this is not a Doxing because they put their own names in the post and website etc) Leveille and Yin took control of the ACChain project around January 2018 around the time the original management fled but prior to the China arrests.http://news.fx168.com/qiye/1706/2288644.shtmlhttps://twitter.com/biolifechain?lang=enhttps://bitcoinandblockchainfair.com/2018-speakers/Leveille has widely claimed on social media and at blockchain events to have raised $23M into a new related venture called Biolifechain.io. The detail of biolifechain would never justify even a $2M presale so it was either a lie or part of a scheme to launder some of the ACChain or Puyin Coin missing funds.https://ift.tt/2DdTxO7 set up 3 new UK companies plus one in the tax haven of Jersey, and information suggests a number of others in Switzerland, Hong Kong and probably elsewhere. These new companies were all set up at around the same time China police were investigating and making arrestshttps://www.jerseyfsc.org/registry/documentSearch/NameDetail.aspx?Id=363553https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/11135324https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/11159484https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/11116015My original intention was to publish all the details we found online as a warning but the more I uncovered about this pair the more it looked like serious criminal activity that warrants a federal investigation probably in multiple countries. On top of obvious fraud and securities violations it seems to involve money laundering and tax evasion. I think it needs to be looked at urgently while they are still pushing that latest scam. No expectation of investors getting anything back but just stopping more people getting ripped off would be cool.Leveille, Yin and a group of their supporters (being investigated now and soon to be named and shamed) are also clearly not satisfied with what they took so far and are starting and participating in at least 9, yes NINE other ICO scams.I’m not sure who or where (8 possible locations) to report this and really need local legal advice... PLEASE HELP!1- Genevieve Leveille and Serena Yin both appear or appeared to live, work or study in the UK at least partially, and Leveille is a director of many UK companies and two ICO’s and has addresses there. Doubtful they pay tax anywhere but UK should want to look at their tax.2- Serena Yin appears to be Chinese national and the biggest scams were original China based. China police (Nanshan District, Shenzhen and later Beijing) are already be engaged and made arrests but our PI advised us with that amount of money Police may have likely been paid to turn a blind eye for some perpetrators.3- There is a potential money trail leading to Jersey (UK, not NY one) and a company called “ACChain Technology International Services” and Genevieve Leveille uses a number of Jersey addresses so may live or work there. There also appears to be legal action against Leveille in Jersey based on a notice in Jersey papers4- Genevieve Leveille claims a US passport holder or citizen and many things she did are crimes in the states but we have nothing to link her to a US address, no credit history or employment. She put Columbia University on linkedin but could not be verified or find any photo or anything so probably faked.5- There are lawsuits against Genevieve Leveille in Singapore and two of her latest ICO Scams appear to be based in Singapore and there were notices in singapore papers too6- Many of the ACChain and Biolifechain related companies link back to Hong Kong7- One of her ICO’s seems to be Nigeria based and shes supposed to be from Nigeria but everyone knows the Nigeria police wont do shit.8- The biolifechain ICO has many links and references to Switzerland and there have been a few pointers of money movement there. All this has been uncovered with just a few grand for a private Investigator, a bit of searching and many tips from people that read the thread and chipped in. We probably only see the tip of the iceberg and there may be many more scams and ICO’s to find with a more effort.Full BackgroundFull disclosure, I got eyes on this shitshow because I invested a few grand in ACChain during the ICO phase mid 2017. I invest in a bunch of ICO’s lost that sort of money a dozen times I would normally not give a shit.I took a close look of this first because of the fucked up responses they gave on Telegram when the project clearly had stalled or something wrong. Normally an exit scam completely disappear and a failed project will admit some difficulty. This was different. In July got invited to a private group of pissed off investors who showed evidence that valid questions were being censored and users blocked. It was clear something was getting covered up.Since January 2018 it could be clearly seen in GIT (the public source code repository) that no development was going on, the team listed on the website apart from Leveille had not been seen or heard of in public for months, but social media kept posting that the project was still going strong and claiming faked awards and other stuff. There was no mention of anyone leaving, any trouble, hacking, nothing. They always said “there will be a new release in a few weeks the developers are hard at work” but this shit went on for over 6 months and you could see its a lie because nothing in GIT and nobody trading it.What really pissed me is the arrogant and dismissive way Leveille and her admin Robin dealt with investors. Frequently deleting critical posts and in one case referring to someone that asked questions as “he is a small little man who should not have invested what he could ill afford to loose”. Well fuck that attitude when you’re living high off the guys money, so in June I dropped a few grand to get a Hong Kong PI to find out what really happened. The PI connected Puyin Coin owners directly to ACChain via a string of China and HK companies, found the offices which were hastily evacuated got photos, got a bunch of other details on the original team and other evidence clearly showing it all to be a multi part scam. Can read a lot more detail in the other posts. The PI did warn us that they were threatened by mafia like people in the course of this investigation. There is well over $60M USD taken so it is very likely some people they do not want to be uncovered and may have bribed China police already. The PI seriously advised us and the other investors to remain anonymous and avoid China. Consider the threats to be very serious even life threatening and this comes from a proper PI.I shared some the information I had with the investors and posted on reddit and then things got interesting…https://ift.tt/2DdKtsC the first empty office photos were posted (which are exactly the register China company offices) the ACChain Telegram admins (Wallace and Robin) tried to claim it was all FAKE NEWS and strongly insisted that the project was still going but could not substantiate a thing they said. When investors quizzed the ACChain social media team they were evasive or just blocked or censored the investor. This was so fucked up because they were clearly caught red handed, but they kept trying to keep the scam going for unknown reasons. Days later under pressure to give any evidence they finally posted old photos of the development team “at work” as their “proof”. Turned out (own admission) the social media team had never been to China or seen the actual office, they just got paid by Leveille and Yin to keep the social media going and had no connection to the devs or anyone. In the photo, our PI identified one former employee that they had interviewed in person, she had left ACChain in 2017, so the photo they were using as “proof” was old and proved the opposite. They were trying too hard to keep the cover up.Investors challenged the ACChain team to refute any of this with real evidence and they always got censored or blocked. ACChain were asked to post a video or anything to back up their story which would be so fucking easy if anything they said was true. The photos of the scammers and more of the details the PI dug up were then posted on reddit and got a lot of attention and thousand plus upvotes.https://ift.tt/2JxPvR7 rather than disappear Genevieve Leveille doubled down again…ACChain posted a hurried ‘explanation’ on medium on August 10 and paid for it to be republished on a few blockchain websites, they try to say the details posted on reddit were factually incorrect and they tried to put up a cover story. But they gave no evidence other than a story, and if what they say is true it would be so easy to back it up with evidence.https://medium.com/@ACChain/acchain-statement-c812b201882https://twitter.com/GinouInLondon/status/1027979409763061761 Leveille posted on twitter and even said this“#Vote up this article #help put to #shame #cowards get the #truth-out”This explanation was transparent as fuck. It was immediately debunked and only sunk them deeper. A cover story intended to fool anyone that didn’t know the real ACChain history.1- claimed"From January 2018 the business started formally restructuring”management changed and Genevieve Leveille and Serena Yin claim they were brought in to lead the global development strategy.Obvious coverup because there was no mention of any restructure at the time in January. All through 2018 they claimed the opposite. the key people were due at events (no evidence) and team were still at work (with no updates on GIT)So this is perhaps the only explanation they could make up after the scam was exposed. If it was a restructure then why not get the original team to announce it, oh yeah because they’re in Jail or hiding from police.2- claimed“ACChain was working with a reduced team when a cyber-attack took place in April 2018”and they were investigating and refunding coins. This was never admitted back in April, so if it did happen they covered it up for 3 months. A lot of people on telegram did claim missing coins but they did not get any explanation and the questions were censored or deleted. The way coins were taken clearly pointed to an inside job as it had access to wallet keys, so it was probably the original team coming back to raid the coffers or Levelle and Yin taking it themself.3- Claimed“hundreds of thousands of voters who voted for ACChain to win the Chainnews 2018 Blockchain Star award in Asia”.This is not possible. Hundreds of thousands voting has NEVER happened in a blockchain competition. Why would a largely unknown coin get so many votes? Obviously, they paid for the award or used bots or a script to cheat the system.Either way trying to validate themselves with this and the IDAXC was clearly desperation.4- Claimed“In January 2018, ACChain also received accreditation from IDAXC — the global decentralized digital asset management organisation”Which turns out to be a non-existent organization with website under construction. http://idaxc.org/Why post a fake organization as validation when you’re trying to clear your name?https://ift.tt/2Ddm4TT you google ACChain you see that most of the media picked up the real story and exposed the scam, except ONEhttps://medium.com/@regit000/acchain-fud-attack-reveals-cannibalistic-nature-of-reporting-in-the-crypto-space-ae5b3a28bb68 Based on the fact that he shilled them before and knows the real background this one conrary post by Bob Welldon would indicate Bob is complicit in the SCAM or intentionally helping them cover it up. He seem to be assisting them in other ways too.A few days after posting on medium all communication from ACChain stopped. It appears the social media team finally figured out they we’re being scammed too. What all the investors and now the crypto world could not understand is why after the scam had clearly been uncovered did Genevieve Leveille and Serena Yin go to such effort to try to keep the scam going. Thanks to the original telegram article a lot of people helped answer that too.Genevieve Leveille is involved in at least 9 other ICO scams and she is flying around the world speaking at events pushing them as much as possible. It suggest she is trying to cash out all these other scams as quickly as she can before the ACChain story and her history gets too widely known. She may be a few months away from disappearing forever back to Nigeria or wherever so got to get her investigated quick.https://cdcctop.io/team - Genevieve Leveille - Founderhttps://https://ift.tt/2JszImr - Genevieve Leveille - CEO this seems to be the big one.https://ift.tt/2DdwT8l - - Genevieve Leveille - COOhttps://www.btcdsc.com/dsc.pdf - Genevieve Leveille - Project Consultanthttps://decentralized.id/ - Genevieve Leveille – CEO (removed in Jan 2018)https://ift.tt/2JxPwVb - Genevieve Leveille - COOhttps://showhand.io/ Genevieve Leveille - Advisorhttp://www.hcmcoin.online/ Genevieve Leveille – Advisorhttps://titaproject.io/ Genevieve Leveille – Advisorhttps://themis.network/en.html Genevieve Leveille - AdvisorMost of these are scams they have not raised significant amounts and done nothing. Themis has some real technology and seems to be raising tens of millions and there is the feel of ACChain about it. Themis refused to comment about how deeply involve Leveille and got evasive about her involvement then removed reference to her. Themis might be the legitimate one of the 9 but this should be enough to avoid them. Themis just removed all the adviser names from their whitepaper so maybe a way to quietly distance themselves from Leveille. The waybackmachine never forgets though. The PI could find little background information on Serena Yin like a ghost they said, Genevieve Leveille appears to have a history of scams and crime long before she became involved in ICO scams. The PI found newspaper notices regarding legal action for IP violations and securities fraud in papers in Singapore, UK and Jersey from July to September 2017.A person claiming to be her former co-worker from a bank in the UK said that around October 2017 Leveille was desperately trying to borrow money from anyone to her to pay legal costs claiming she was victim of people ripping her off but soon she was coming into big money. A few months later she was living the high life and pretty clear she learned how to do ICO scams.Leveille is supposed to be a US Citizen of Nigerian origin. Leveille frequently still claims to be founder of UK company 0tentic8 Ltd which Leveille and a partner Duane Gafoor of Hong Kong incorporated in December 2016 and dissolved in August 2017.https://ift.tt/2Dewjr5 having dissolved 0tentic8 Leveille still claims everywhere to be "CEO 0tentic8" or "CEO AgriLedger" in her profile and at events (Seems she left AgriLedger in 2016)http://news.fx168.com/qiye/1706/2288644.shtmlhttps://twitter.com/biolifechain?lang=enhttps://bitcoinandblockchainfair.com/2018-speakers/https://www.smartiotlondon.com/speakers/genevieve-leveillehttps://blockchainlive.com/speakers/genevieve-leveille/

Scam Alert: Substratum has a similar minting contract like Oyster pearl, even worst they have access to supposedly burned tokens.

Recently Oyster Pearl exit scammed using a breach in the smart contract which led to creating 3M tokens from thin air and the CEO exit scammed by selling it on Kucoin. However, the Substratum smart contract also has the capability to [mint tokens out of thin air] (https://ift.tt/2yHQlpT is not the only thing.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdeOXfvXAO0&feature=youtu.beIn this video they supposedly did a token burn, but their definition of token burn is to just send tokens to another wallet in which they own the private key. Their smart contract was a copy paste from skincoin which did not have a burn function. When these two topics were brought up the response was:a) this is not a security issue since only the dev team has access to it ( that’s absolutely the problem isn’t it?, you shouldn’t even have access to it, this is like saying only Bruno from pearl can do it anyway!)b) the blockchain is public anyway so you can monitor any transactions. (WTF?)There is absolutely nothing stopping minting tokens + selling the “burned” tokens in an exit scam. Their contract can be abused in a similar function with PRL , In fact the Substratum contact function is even more desirable to abuse since it doesn't require the culprit to send any Eth to collect the freshly minted SUBProceed with caution.

I’m really excited to watch this launch play out. I’m not sure at this point what the short term price action will be like, but I can’t wait to see the platform get moving. Are any of you European or Asian investors thinking about utilizing the platform? I’d love to hear about your experience once it launches.

Oyster Update – OysterProtocol

I'm reposting the article here with some parts removed where they asked to give any info about Bruno, because the mods didn't want it ( Removing this as they are directly asking for and promoting doxxing. That is strictly against Reddit's policies, and ours. )Oyster UpdateAll,Earlier today, it was discovered that the transferDirector function was utilized on the Oyster Protocol token contract. This allowed the new director to re-open the ICO for PRL and re-issue new tokens (1 ETH = 5000 PRL / .04 per PRL). The individual in question then sent these tokens (upwards of 3M PRL) to KuCoin where the tokens were market sold. They were able to extract ~$300,000 in funds prior to us being able to shut down trading and withdrawals on KuCoin.Despite Oyster passing three separate smart contract audits, we were told by Bruno Block, the original founder and chief architect of the project, that the directorship of the token contract had to remain open so that the peg could be adjusted over time. This ultimately turned out to be a trapdoor mechanism in the contract that was eventually exploited. This contract was written by Bruno Block prior to the ICO, at which point Bruno was the only member of the team. We relied on the auditors involved here for assurance that the smart contract was safe. Bruno was the only one who had the ability to transfer directorship within the PRL smart contract. After our initial review, we are inclined to believe that these were solely the actions of Bruno Block and that he did this now to avoid detection from KuCoin KYC procedures (that will be implemented on November 1st). These KYC procedures would have limited withdrawals on Non-KYC’ed accounts to no more than 2 BTC per day and would have prevented this from happening. This was well-orchestrated and well-executed (at a time when he knew a majority of the KC team would be offline). This also caught the entire team outside of Bruno Block by surprise, as the team collectively holds ~5% of the total supply in personal wallets. The team has been working tirelessly on this since day 1, without pay at some points in time. This project has been built on the back of hard work and raw determination and we will not let Bruno’s role as a bad actor in all of this undermine a project that the entire rest of the team is completely devoted to.For those of you holding PRL, your PRL holdings are safe. We are still evaluating our options, but will most likely be executing a contract swap on the block just prior to this all happening (e.g. All 98.5 million PRL prior to the contract vulnerability will be exchanged on a 1:1 ratio to PEARL (or something to that effect)). We will also be evaluating how we can help those that were taken advantage of from this incident. More details to come here but we will do our best to make everyone whole. Despite the losses, $300k only represents ~1.5% of our market cap prior to this all transpiring. While this is far from ideal, this will most definitely not be a deathknell for the project. So where do we go from here?We are continuing to investigate this but could use your help along the way. Here are the withdrawal addresses that Bruno withdrew the funds he sold on KuCoin to:ETH: 0x0001Ee57Bb28415742248d946D35C7f87cfd5A54BTC: 17pwqhD9dLGMcMZD9xvKxiePHNffHV5T6yIn the interim, our team will be working around the clock to remedy this situation. We don’t know why Bruno did what he did or what his intentions were at the end of the day, outside of profiting from a loophole that he intentionally left in the smart contract. While I still take full responsibility for this all transpiring, I had no reason to believe Bruno would do something like this to harm the project and much of the work that he had a significant role in creating. We will not let his selfish actions today damage the long-term viability of the project.- William Cordes CEO of Oyster

DO NOT BUY OYSTER PEARL (PRL), THE SMART CONTRACT HAS BEEN BREACHED.

Someone from the inside (Bruno most likely) just restarted the ICO sale and bought millions of PRL tokens and went on to market sell them on kucoin. Stay Away! May be an exit scam. Here is the eth transaction that opened the sale: https://ift.tt/2AAdiNc It's official, Bruno has exit scammed. How to get more people into crypto? (We do it with Crypto Cards)

Hi everyone, we have just launched Crypto Cards! :)What are Crypto Cards? It’s a party card game (real, not digital) that you can play with your family and friends. It’s a game where you can win even during a bear market. ;)https://ift.tt/2Pu1Fzu do you play it?Each player receives 3 cards at the start. Some of the cards are value cards, such as Monero, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin. The person who has the biggest portfolio of value cards in the end wins.https://ift.tt/2Jjg24h there are the action cards, which you use to "fight" other players in order to increase your portfolio. Examples of action cards are a Hacker card (you can steal a card from one of your opponents), an ICO card (an opponent must "invest" one of their value cards in you) or an Airdrop card which gives you the rights to an additional card from the draw pile.https://ift.tt/2PtuZ9t only card you want to avoid at all cost is the Bitconnect card. It reduces your portfolio by half:https://ift.tt/2Jmj9s6 can this game get more people into crypto?Because you can use it to educate your friends about the crypto world. Each of the cards has a motive that represents something crypto-related (airdrop, SEC, ICO, China ban etc.).For example, the Monero coin has a finger on its lips, saying "shhh". You can use this motive to explain to your friends that Monero is a privacy-oriented coin and how it’s different in this regard to (for example) Bitcoin.https://ift.tt/2Ptv0dx can I find out more about Crypto Cards?Check out our website at https://ift.tt/2Jjg0cF do you think about it? Looking forward to your feedback! :)

(Serious) Why use BTC or a BTC-like coin over Monero?

I know this sub can be a bit tribal but bear with me.As I am sure most of you know, Bitcoin and Bitcoin-like blockchains are completely transparent. Pseudonymous at best, their privacy has been revealed to be far less than initially assumed. This is now understood by the power structures, who have targeted specifically the entities through which most people acquire the digital asset: exchanges.Since every transaction can be analyzed, and since the exchange will, if it doesn't already, share all of this information with the government, any and everything you do with your BTC from then on will forever be available to more and more precise tracking.Perhaps your only interest in BTC / crypto is investing and cashing out to fiat, in which case fair enough, I can see why you would not care. But if you actually see the potential with this stuff, how easy it becomes to send value to anyone, anywhere.. is it really wise that this is done in a completely transparent manner, for all of the world to see? Some weeks ago someone posted here that Mastercard and Google had a deal where good old Google paid millions for MC transaction data. Why do you think that is?Do you believe a world where everything you buy is tracked and attached to your real identity makes for a better world for everyone?Or are we normalizing tyranny in this way?Would you login to your bank account without https? Why send money in a way where anyone from thieves to relatives to business competitors to embittered ex-partners to envious friends to .. (could go on) can see your financial activity? If to any of you this seems like a good idea, I challenge you to post here a link to all of your banking statements from the last year.Ok.. so it could be the way described above, or it could be the following. You receive some XMR, nobody can tell that you did unless you choose to share (viewkey), you store it or you send it to someone else, and nobody can tell that you did or did not. Your business stays your own business. When did privacy become a crime? Now after the last network upgrade, Monero transactions cost less than a cent.I am serious (and puzzled!) when I ask -- why would you use Bitcoin instead?Let me just finish by saying that I choose Monero to contrast here because in my opinion it has the best technology and the best implementation. Just substitute it in your mind for dash/zcash/verge (olol)/whatever if you don't agree, please let's not make THAT the center of the discussion.Oh, one more thing: don't mistake this for bashing bitcoin, it sparked my original interest in crypto back in the day, and there is still some interesting technical evolution happening. What I'm really curious about here is why would people choose mass-surveillance willingly rather than assert their human right to privacy.

How Cryptocurrencies are helping Venezuela. Today we gaveaway even more food in Venezuela! Thanks /r/CryptoCurrenncy you did it again!

Hi my name is Victor, I'm from Venezuela and I'm a Crypto-Aficionado (?) (Sorry english is not my mother language)Since my first post in this sub, where I visited that a local Butcher shop was accepting Bitcoin and Crypto as payment, I received a couple donations to help me, since I didn't feel ok to take the money for me I recruited a couple of my abuelas, and mom and we gave away over 50 arepas. that was an emotional shocker for me. So I wanted to do more, so I quickly got in contact with a couple of people and they put in contact with Father Angel Araujo, he is currently doing (literally(?)) God's work here, contacted with him ask him what he needed and he told me, "We don't need money, we need food", so I quickly hopped into my contact list, called a couple friends and manage to get hold of a 12 pack of 1kg Pasta and since Pasta sucks to be eaten alone (?) I went and bought 10 jars of Sauce, I was trying to get some meat to make some bolognesa but there's a shortage of Meat in my town.https://ift.tt/2RktCHh was in less than 24hrs notice, I left it at the church to get cooked. all of this was delivered on the Hospital Pedro Emilio Carrillo. (Same place where we delivered the arepas). Here's the outcome!Sorry for the shitty quality, my phone is not that great. We are planning to do this every 2 weeks or as often as possible.Once again Thanks Reddit!.I'm a frecuent on the discord sv you can find me there as Manduro | ImVito #4700

Amazon via their clear goal to make more money decided to discontinue ad-free viewing as part of the Twitch Prime experience, and instead brought back Twitch Turbo for $8.99 a month to get rid of the ads.So, I said screw that, I'll just use my Brave browser like I do when I watch non-signed in content on YouTube, which Brave does a beautiful job blocking, but they can't block Twitch player ads???What this really tells me is that all YouTube has to figure out is how Twitch is dodging the ad blockers, and then ads will be back on YouTube... please say it isn't so!Anyway, please Brave team if you see this, work on blocking Twitch stream ads as well... thanks!

Mastercard Files Patent for Bitcoin Transactions on Credit Cards

We all know how much banks hate bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and we early this month wrote an article about Why Bitcoin is a Real Threat to the Traditional Financial SystemBut as an old proverb says “if you can’t beat them, join them” If your enemy is stronger then you, it is better for you to join their side. This is what Mastercard is trying to do with the last patent they filed about Fractional Reserve Cryptocurrency Bank.Cryptocurrencies & Mastercard: Not Friendly RelationshipLike most financial institutions and companies, Mastercard never predicted the blockchain implementation, and by the time they noticed it, they were not prepared for the changes it could bring. So their reactions have been negative toward blockchain and cryptocurrencies. But at the same time, they have been exploring the blockchain technology to find ways for implementing it in their system, as well as seeking out ways to be able to make use of cryptocurrencies legally.Read more at 7bitcoins.com: https://ift.tt/2EMgKIF Reserve BlockchainAfter years of fighting bitcoin and associating cryptocurrencies with illegal things like money laundering, drugs, etc, Mastercard is claiming a patent for fractional reserve management of blockchain assets. It is such an irony that fractional reserve banking is one of the things bitcoin was created to solve and now this company wants to create a fractional reserve for bitcoin.Bitcoiners, in general, are not fans of debt-based currencies. And this step for not owning your private keys and being not sure if the financial institution is holding your funds is not in the same line with the Bitcoin philosophy.Another negative impact FR might have on cryptocurrencies is because it is a derivative product which the company — in this case, Mastercard — have control over the supply and might inflate the bitcoin supply artificially causing price suppression like we have seen the Gold market for years.  This is the reason why many Bitcoiners are against ETFs unlike they are like BAKKT that promises to offer Physically Settled Bitcoin Futures. Eventually, if BAKKT is approved the launch date will be 12th of December.Bitcoiners Philosophy: Not Owning Your Keys Not Owning Your coinsThe patent Mastercard is claiming (Application Nr. 20180308092) describes a system where crypto assets and fiat money is tracked. Basically, it is a web wallet that combines cryptocurrency accounts with fiat accounts.Coinbase had trouble getting traction because of this narrative. Bitcoiners tend not to trust a third party even a financial institution to hold their keys. Because not holding your keys it is as not holding the coins at all. It can disappear at any time and you can not do anything about that. You can not even be sure if the bank is holding your funds. The biggest user base on Coinbase and newcomers in the crypto world that does not hold yet this philosophy.Read more at 7bitcoins.com: https://ift.tt/2CEeMaJ

What is wrong with Nano? What's the backside?

Something must be wrong with it. Besides the constant shilling of course. From an outside perspective it looks like exactly what the world wants: a currency (or store of value) which is instant and free, without wasting energy. But it gets a lot of hate, and is pretty far away from the top 10 currencies. So I'm genuinely curious about what's wrong with it.

Poloniex Forced NDA: TAKE YOUR MONEY OFF POLONIEX

I tried to withdrawal my money 7 months ago. I still have received nothing. For 6 months Poloniex ignored my support requests. They also refused to reply to multiple Better Business Bureau inquiries that I filed. Their compliance officer John Brown (skype sweetjohndee) mostly ignored my messages, occasionally promising me he was "working on it" but refusing to give me any real information.Last month I told Poloniex I'd be filing a complaint with the Massachusetts attorney general if they didn't do the right thing. That got them off their asses, and they finally started replying to my support tickets (still a week+ response time, but better than being completely ignored)John accidentally let slip that basically nothing had been done on this until last month. That alone is criminal. For 6 months they did nothing to send me my property. Only this last month (the 7th month since trying to withdrawal my money) have they been working on it. Or so they claim, it doesn't seem like they've been working on it during this month either.John mentioned that an engineer is needed to send me my money. Yet they didn't even have an engineer look at my support ticket until the 7th month.I told Poloniex I would be an idiot to take their word that they are actually working on it. And unless they gave me real information as to what is actually going on, that I was going to file a report with boston pd and bring a civil suit against them. I went ahead with filing a complaint with the attorney general, because it was clear to me they were not going to do the right thing.Poloniex sent me back an NDA. Asked me to sign it, send it back, and then they would call me.I refused. I have a right to my own property without needing to sign any further documentation. I told them to call me without the signed NDA.They promptly replied (for the first time ever) that they are "archiving" my balance and won't send me my money. They are holding my property hostage until I do what they want. Their actions are criminal. They are now claiming they can't send me my money because trading of the coin has been delisted. Yet that was the case 7 months ago. If that was truly the problem, they would have said so originally. Also, withdrawals were still enabled. And what would be the purpose of assigning an engineer to the support ticket, if it's impossible to send someone money that is a de-traded coin? And not trading a coin, has absolutely nothing to do with sending someone their money. But the moment I refuse to sign an NDA, all efforts completely stop. They have now closed my support ticket. The engineer that promised a resolution is none responsive.I have no idea what horrible news they were going to tell me about Poloniex, that they are trying to coerce me into signing an NDA.I STRONGLY suggest everyone take their money off immediately. I sense they are running a fractional reserve, or are doing something else equally shady. Take your money out while you still can. I probably won't be as lucky.I am filing a police report with boston pd and will update you all on what happens.Their actions constitute criminal fraud and coercion. If anyone else wants to send me evidence of fraudulent activity you've been a victim of please comment below or message me. I will add it to the packet I'm sending boston pd. I am currently sending them all my support tickets, my messages with their compliance officer, my unanswered BBB inquiries, the 500+ complaints and one star reviews they have on BBB, and the NDA.I will also put forth my argument to the cops that people at Circle should also be criminally charged. I alerted Circle support multiple times that fraud was happening on their platform. Each time they ignored me and closed my support ticket. Knowingly allowing fraud to take place on their platform is illegal. Here is a copy of the NDA: https://imgur.com/iyeLoRETLDR: Poloniex has not sent me my money after 7 months. I told them I would file a police report. They asked me to sign an NDA. I refused. They then responded that they will not send my money.

Best projects under 2 million market cap!#Opinion

We are approaching the end of 2018, a year in which the bears were in power. Even though we still have two months before the year is finally over, it’s fair to say that 2018 was not a friendly year for cryptocurrency. However, good investments can still bring you some happiness in 2019 if you choose wisely. These are, in my opinion, the best 3 projects (under 2 million market cap) with the greatest growth potential:FundRequest:FundRequest is an Ethereum-based project working on creating a decentralized platform for open-source developers. In the current online status quo, Github is the popular place to go for open-source developers, yet there is no incentive model behind the open-source collaboration platform.Besides collaboration, the FundRequest platform also provides tools for recruiting development talent for programming issues that require technical expertise.LOCI:With an established company, platform, and growing suite of products, this innovative project is one of the best of its kind under the 2 million market cap category. LOCI seeks to simplify and accelerate the patenting process and innovation itself through blockchain. Its product offerings equip inventors with professional tools, charts, and indicators to analyze the uniqueness and novelty of their ideas. In turn, inventors are supported in refining their ideas and ultimately monetizing them through the platform.LOCI is the first company to provide all of these services with the security offered through blockchain. To top it all off, the platform serves a social function where the inventors can safely share their new ideas and concepts and get rewarded by the LOCI Community.TOKES:TKS is mainly focusing on providing a payment handling option for Marijuana business holders. Both buyers and sellers can make avail of this better payment option for dealings.Their established footprint in the Cannabis industry makes it a perfect opportunity for investors. All legal companies are looking forward to being their partner in the next few years after their launch in other states too.Which projects do you see for 2019 who show great potential?

I believe in the Brave browser and its Basic Attention Token, and here's why:

It actually has a use-case and makes total sense why we need it.I can contribute to my favorite creators each and every month, without having to watch irrelevant annoying ads in the process, and they get access to the the tokens at the end of the month, instead of waiting how long it takes ad companies to cut them a check.I use the Brave creators program to monetize my creative platforms as well, which covers all angles as far at the cycle of the Brave browser ecosystem is concerned, which means it helps me full circle. So far, there isn't a single other cryptocurrency that I could think of that allows me the ability to use something that I would normally use on a daily basis, but makes that daily occurrence better in every single way as it pertains to my quality of life.I look forward to seeing all of the new goals Brave has set to accomplish come to fruition, and I'd like to thank the Brave team for actually making something in the cryptocurrency space useful for a change.

The After-Wraith | A look back on a premium shhhcoin | Verge

I already made some posts about Verge and tons of comments about it, but I think a summarized post again pointing out why you should stay far away from this coin out of a users point of view seems like a good idea before years end.Let me say before: as a trader you can get a lot of money out of these projects, join the pump and dump. But if success of cryptocurrencies is what youw ant Verge is one of those project hurting the whole space more, than a paid partnership will bring in the end. But lets do the chronological look back:Post-WraithBefore NYE 2017/2018 Verge had an enromous run, because McAfee jumped onto the hypetrain Verge started. The Wraith-Protocol, something the cryptospace has never seen before (White... sorry, blackpaper said: "for the first time in history..."), will come till the end of they year. Who followed this show remembers the night of new years of eve, when out of a sudden sunerok (lead/only dev of Verge at this time) started to implement it on github. People freaked out, Wraith is coming! Of course it didn't work out of the box, but code came to github and so it was auditable.After-WraithI looked at the code, wanted to see how his magic works, and came to the conclusion: "Stealth addresses?! That's it?!" Yes, what was advertised as the revolution, public and private ledger on one ledger, privacy with a switch was nothing more than technology from 2014/2015. They claimed Verge is untraceable, although in 2015 this was also questioned in regards to stealth addresses. Some resources:What is a stealth address?Whoops, copy pasted 50% of Wraith Protocol from OpalCoinSo not only their revolution was old technology, it even was copied from another coin. Without giving credit of course, so basically they still break their copyright. Luckily the OpalCoin devs do not seem to care. The Verge github could be taken down because of this. Lets move on.Is technology from 2015 really private in 2018?Short after the wraith release at least a few people digged deeper: Why Verge fails to offer real privacy and is indistinguishable from a scamOf course, Vergins always claimed this is only FUD, but nope, no FUD. Research, and provable facts. There was an answer from an ex team member, basically saying: "Nah, no scam, only misunderstood". Lol, yeah. But in the end some Vergins asked for external audits, they even wanted to fund them. Lets show the world how private Verge really is! F*** those FUDsters! Yeah, I said it when the idea popped up, I also said it when sunerok claimed the audits are in the making, and I always said whenever people asked for it: there are and will be no audits. The outcome is clear before, and if the only thing he says is "yeah, we are doing audits" without saying anything more there simply is no one doing audits. Or its one of his weed bros, who knows. Keep the audits in mind, I will talk later about them again. The PronHub HypetrainI will keep this short: Vergins (and TokenPay, another one of those scam-friends currently active) donated 3,5mil$ for a mysterious partnership Verge wanted to announce, if they reach their goal, changing the cryptospace, making Verge easily a top 3 currency. Hype the shit out of it again, people believed it, and right after the announcement Verge dropped like a hot potatoe. Buy the rumour, sell the news. The next time the Vergins have lost a lot of money.Although I have to admit this partnership was good, the crypto buying into this partnership simply was the wrong one.The twist here is: promised exclusivity and a month later Tron and I think ZCash joined the PronHub family. No one knows what happened with the funds donated, and no one really asks. This leads to the next issue:Ledger Nano anyone? It was promised part of the donated funds will be used to add XVG to the Ledger Nano. How it turned out there were no recent contacts to the Ledger team and to top it: addition to Ledger doesn't cost anything! Open a pull request on github with the code necessary, get added. It might be possible sunerok mailed Ledger in 2017 and there was a fee for addition, but as of now these funds were not necessary. Ok, lets see what sunerok did:Pull request at LedgerHe wrote the 7 lines of code he thought which will be necessary to add XVG to the Ledger on his own. Wow. But unfortunately the Ledger guys already knew, that you should handle Verge with care. Does this PR add full compatibility with Verge, including stealth addresses? Sunerok: no need. So the only feature separating XVG from all the other hundreds bitcoin clones does not need to be supported. The only(!) blockchain privacy feature. Yeah, this looks like the future of privacy. Latest discussion leads to the new devs claiming this is just too much work. Yep, thought so. No way to copy it, then it is too much work. As of today no addition, and I personally do not see it in the immediate future.Exploits for everyoneVerge got exploited twice this year, generating millions of XVG out of thin air. I will keep it short again. sunerok was pointed at the exploit. At first he denied it, then he was angry it was published, then he tried to fix it and accidentally hardforked. He reverted this and then added a future block height to fix it. Unfortunately this fix was no fix, and he was told by the guy who pointed out the exploit the first time. And it happened again, Verge got exploited with a slightly modified exploit again. But luckily for sunerok he could copy the fix from SHIELD, although he claimed afterwards he developed it. Bad for him github commits have a timestamp and the SHIELD fix came a month before he committed it.Recent developmentIt was pretty quiet int he meantime, the code of the Verge core is not developed anymore. As an example start the Winows Qt wallet, do the full sync, close it. And open it again. Stop the time it needs to start up ;) every startup of the Qt wallet currently needs almost an hour. Something is really broken there, since april I think. A fix? Nah, beastmode on the core upgrade, ringCT, RSK contracts bla bla...So lets take a look at "beastmode": Github commitsThere are weeks, where nothing happened, even whole months. This is beastmode? These commits are done in a private repository. I am pretty sure these are copies of the Particl RingCT integration (developing and testing it by himself is way out of his league) or maybe even stuff for TokenPay and he doesn't want people to know. Can't tell.Development updatesAnd now they are doing development updates, done by the guy doing the iOS wallet I think. Always promising beastmode, but as github shows this isn't true. Most of the time there are small steps forward to a working iOS wallet, but there is no real progress on all other fronts that are publicly available.Lets get back to one of the latest updates, because the audits are mentioned...:When are audits going to happen/be published?Audits will be re-conducted after we release the code base revision. We felt the first round of audits were not suitable for release given the fact that we had already scheduled to overhaul our core code base this year. Additional information about audits will be released in the future.Didn't I say it? Did he proof Verge currently is not safe to use as a privacy coin? You should ask yourself: did those audits happen? If they happened shouldn't they tell you if there are flaws? Who did those audits?I think I will come now to an end but for everyone wondering why no one outside of Verges social channels likes Verge this is a good starter. The same applies to TokenPay, Verges other partnership. Be very careful with those coins. They are promising a lot, and do a lot with their users money, but usually heavily underdeliver or hype stuff way more than is healthy for their users.Even if there will be releases this or next year be sure these are copies, not revolutionary, may be exploitable again because amateurish developers, and especially don't trust them with your privacy. If you are in for privacy look at Monero, ZCash and yes, even DASH mixing done right is better than what Verge promises you. There may be others, but these are at least reliable.Have a nice day :)

Cryptocurrencies are mixed as Bitfinex destroys 500 million USDT, more than half of its treasury supply

Crypto NewsAfter Coindesk accused Bitfinex, a major cryptocurrency exchange and operator of stablecoin Tether (USDT), of publishing trading volume data from, “a market that doesn’t exist,”, Bitfinex responded, saying they do not publish fake numbers. In its article, Coindesk noted that Bitfinex does not offer a USDT/USD pair, however, their exchange reports substantial trading volume on its exchange for the pairing -- at the time of this writing, daily trading volume for USDT/USD on Bitfinex is reported as USD$33,598,474, or 18.30% of USDT’s total 24-hour trading volume. Bitfinex clarified in its rebuttal, saying they reach their daily trading volume calculation for USDT/USD by calculating the sum of USDT deposits and withdrawals to and from Bitfinex. Bitfinex provided a link to the application program interface (API) where this data is supposed to be visible, however, the link did not work at the time of this writing.  As per the Taipei Times, Taiwan is planning to release draft initial coin offering (ICO) regulatory framework by June 2019. The Taiei Times cited Welington Koo, chairman of Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC), who spoke at a meeting of the Legislative Yuan Finance Committee, saying, “The more we regulate, themore this new economic behavior wanes.”  Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has officially launched Uganda’s first ever fiat-to-cryptocurrency exchange, as per an official announcement on Medium. Currently, Ugandans are only able to trade Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) through the domestic Ugandan shilling (UGX). Called Binance Uganda, the new fiat-to-cryptocurrency exchange is offering zero-fee trading until November 24th, 2018. According to the company statement, the launch of Binance Uganda is part of Binance’s initiative to contribute to blockchain technology development across the African continent -- shortly after their announcement, Binance’s charity wing donated USD$500,000 aid Uganda.  In a blog post published on Wednesday, Tether, the issuer of stablecoin USDT, announced that it, “redeemed a significant amount,” of USDT from circulation and that it will destroy 500 million USDT from its treasury wallet -- the 500 million destroyed USDT represents a whopping 52.8% of its total treasury supply for future issuances. This news comes after the value of USDT dipped below USD$0.90/token last week and after Circle and Coinbase partnered to list stablecoin USDC on Coinbase. Tether refered  readers of the announcement to their white paper, where the firm states, "every tether issued or redeemed, as publicly recorded by the Bitcoin blockchain will correspond to a desposit or withdrawal of funds from the [company's] bank account."Nasdaq, the world’s second largest stock exchange by market capitalization, has been awarded a new patent to tackle the implementation of blockchain in releasing new information to the media industry. Originally filed in January 2017, the patent references, “an information computer system […] provided for securely releasing time-sensitive information to recipients via a blockchain.” The patent explains the purposed system’s process, saying, “A submitter submits a document to the system and a blockchain transaction is generated and submitted to the blockchain based on the document […] An editor may edit the document and an approver may approve the document for release to the recipients.” This past June, Nasdaq tested a blockchain proof-of-concept system for securities collateral.  Setl, a UK blockchain startup, has received approval from French securities regulators and is set to enter the European Union’s settlement system. Setl aims to launch its Target2-Securities platform, a EUR1 billion network built to span across the European Union and settle securities processed by the European Central Bank. Setl is expected to launch in early 2019.  South Korea’s Financial Services Commission (FCS) issued a statement today warning investors to be cautious when investing in cryptocurrencies. Documents published on the FSC’s website warn investors that they could be misled by cryptocurrency funds and that investors could mistake cryptocurrency funds for legal public funds that comply with South Korea’s Capital Markets Act. The FSC added that cryptocurrency funds must be approved and registered with the FSC to operate legally -- something no South Korean cryptocurrency fund has done yet. Sources:r/https://cointelegraph.com/news/crypto-exchange-bitfinex-denies-allegedly-fake-tether-volumes-listed-on-coinmarketcap r/https://cointelegraph.com/news/taiwan-will-issue-draft-ico-rules-by-june-2019-regulator-says r/https://cointelegraph.com/news/tether-redeems-and-burns-more-than-half-of-usdt-in-circulation r/https://tether.to/upcoming-usdt-redemption-october-24th-2018/ r/https://www.coindesk.com/tether-just-burned-500-million-usdt-stablecoin-tokens/ r/https://www.ccn.com/newsflash-tether-destroys-500-million-usdt/ r/https://cointelegraph.com/news/binances-first-crypto-fiat-exchange-in-uganda-goes-live r/https://cointelegraph.com/news/nasdaq-wins-blockchain-patent-for-smart-contract-based-information-release-system r/https://www.coindesk.com/nasdaq-wins-patent-for-blockchain-based-wire-service-concept/ r/https://cointelegraph.com/news/uk-blockchain-startup-to-enter-eu-settlement-system-after-french-regulators-approval r/https://cointelegraph.com/news/south-korean-financial-regulator-says-crypto-funds-violate-capital-markets-act r/https://www.coindesk.com/south-koreas-financial-watchdog-warns-investors-over-crypto-funds/

My account hacked using 2FA brute force 11 700 000 tokens stolen. COSS exchange. Longread inside.

This hack happened on October 14, 2018. I woke up early in the morning my local time. Right away I turned on the laptop and checked my inbox where I discovered the abnormally large volume of letters from the COSS Exchange. There were a few thousands of them. Each letter informed me about a failed attempt to enter my account on the Exchange.https://ift.tt/2ONeNAc the security measures were taken properly:https://ift.tt/2O3R21A received all of the e-mails when I slept. I rushed to check the account and discovered that all my holdings were gone. More specifically, they were sold on low-liquid markets at the rates substantially lower than the market ones.https://ift.tt/2OOg6PF no time I turned to the support of the Exchange and informed about the incident. I wrote about this situation on Reddit and in the public Telegram group of the Exchange. Naturally, the first reaction that I experienced from the community was humiliation and accusations of stupidity. Many called me a dumb fool because I stored funds on the Exchange and so on. No need to point out how I kept the funds. I have what I have now. So on a weekly basis, the Exchange shares the trading fees with the holders of its tokens. The profit is distributed among token holders proportionally to the number of tokens they possess. That's why I decided to keep my tokens with COSS exchange. The exchange claims:https://ift.tt/2O0ODFb forgot to mention one small fact that access to my account was received using vulnerability which allowed hacker to perform brute force attack on my 2FA.I was not the only victim as COSS declares in their medium blog and hacker indeed used exchange’s vulnerability:https://ift.tt/2OK3skL Exchange was under DDOS + Brute force attackThey’ve shut down an entire exchange for ~24 hours:https://ift.tt/2O2PhBR was that if not an exchange’s vulnerability? The Exchange claims that the hacker had my password. Of course, the most natural and the easiest thing is to accuse the user of being responsible for the accident. But I can assure you that it is far from being the case. I have been in this industry since the end of 2011, and I do know how to generate and store wallets, passwords etc. I neither use Android smartphones, nor computers with Windows OS. I do not use SMS 2FA. I am meticulous and do not do bullshit. What if it was some internal job? Or users data base leaked? Ok, let's assume that I happened to become a victim/target of a hacker, who somehow managed to access my login and password (what I doubt A LOT). However, I had a 2FA verification installed for this occasion.https://ift.tt/2OOYoM1 was designed exactly for the situations like the one I described above. 2FA enables to keep the funds safe even if the password/login was compromised. Recently I received a report from COSS compliance, in which they admitted that the brute force attack took place. After 25,000 trials the attack was successfully completed.https://ift.tt/2O0OFgh hacker got the access to my account and sold all my funds for nothing. After all the Exchange ignores my messages about refund and steps towards that. They’ve only stated amount of assets they were able to recover andhttps://monosnap.com/file/K53lHFblRaeOLIVt6CUAF3P4tvE2LOclaiming that it was the user's (mine) fault that the hacker managed to access the funds.https://ift.tt/2OJlfbE come? How would the hacker have accessed the funds if the Exchange had not allowed to perform the brute force attack? Even if it was me who had compromised the password in some magic way, 2FA had to serve the last stand. The hacker managed to brute force it using Exchange’s vulnerability and the Exchange has not stopped the brute force attack. Remember, there were 25,000 trialshttps://monosnap.com/file/w1OOclQrPSuJFY4GzSpHCHABipfgKaIf I had additional time, I would manage to respond and prevent the hack. Even if there was my fault, but only 50%, the other half is that exchange gave the opportunity to the hacker to brute force 2FA. In this regard, I publicly call the COSS Exchange to refund me at least 50% of my account's balance.Assets I had:~11 700 000 coss tokens (30kk$ at ATH period)~14 BTC19 000 eos to refund in full (EOS node was down and hacker wasn’t able to withdraw EOS)https://ift.tt/2OKuVCS 22 ETHThe Exchange should bear the sole responsibility for the accident if its internal vulnerability allowed the hacker to accomplish his/her brute force attack. If it would be possible to bypass 2FA protection with a brute force attack, every exchange/platform, as well as 2FA providers (generally Google), would be brought into disrepute and would face severe claims from their users. Basically, the whole industry would become a mess. If the case, exchanges/platforms would suffer multi-billion dollar losses, in particular, translating into even more significant losses for the industry as a whole. No matter what decision COSS exchange will take I call other exchanges to add an extra security feature to protect user’s funds. TRADING PASSWORD. This will prevent anybody to sell user’s assets on the low liquidity markets for cents even if the password was compromised and exchange grants brute force attacks.I’m not promoting anybody, just facts:Bitfinex doesn’t have itBinance doesn’t have itPoloniex doesn’t have itGate.io HAS IT.English is not my native language so sorry about typo and other mistakes.
