As an Italian who is about to face a major economic crisis, would you recommend to look at crypto for "shelter"?

The recent political problems are inevitably causing devaluation of the Euro and fear or investors in Italian stocks.I'm a 20yo student and don't have huge assets or experience with any kind of financial crisis. I'm not looking for a definitive answer but merely want to spark discussion and hear the opinions of people.

Why Cloud Services Will Be Forever Changed Thanks to Blockchain Tech?

Blockchain networks are far more secure than the current means of data storage due to their distributed and redundant nature. This has, of course, ushered in a new era of blockchain-based cloud platforms that are changing the way in which we save, transfer, and protect our most valuable data.Decentralized Data StorageDecentralized data storage has always been a huge selling point in the industry but the addition of blockchain technology allows data to be kept 100% secure form hackers at much more affordable rate. A hacker would need to simultaneously attack hundreds of PCs to alter just one piece of data stored on the blockchain. This makes it very unprofitable for any would-be hackers to accomplish.Blockchain networks store your data in redundancy on every PC in the network. In order for a change to be made to the data, there would need to be an approval from 50% of the computers (nodes) on the network. This provides businesses and users more data security and much cheaper storage costs when compared to traditional cloud storage systems.Incentive LayerBlockchain-based cloud services are not only beneficial to those seeking to store their data but also to those willing to store the data. Blockchain technology is pretty amazing in that it allows a huge network of PCs to work seamlessly together with all of the participant’s contributions being automatically registered via Smart Contract protocols.A combination of Smart Contracts and network consensus make it possible for individuals to offer up a piece of their unused HD space and earn some extra tokens for their contributions. There are already a number of platforms offering this service in the market and every day, new and even more innovative concepts seem to emerge. Let’s take a sec to look at four of the most promising blockchain storage platforms in the market.FilecoinFilecoin was founded in 2014 by Juan Benet. This blockchain-based file storage platform made headlines when it successfully raised $257 million in August of last year via their ICO. Since then, this innovative platform has managed to continue to secure outside funding with Protocol Labs, the development team behind the project, recently being awarded a $5 million grant to further improve their platform.SiaThe Boston-based cloud storage platform Sia coin was founded on May 29, 2014. Sai coin is one of the more popular platforms in the market and their token is traded across numerous exchanges. The Sia platform incorporates Smart Contracts and advanced cryptography to ensure users data cannot be viewed by nodes on the network. Anyone can earn extra Sia coin for allowing users access to their unused HD space.StorjThe Atlanta-based Storj Labs has seen great success in the market. Their peer-to-peer cloud storage protocol provides users with a cost effective and more secure option than current cloud storage platforms. Storj was founded in 2015 and is considered the largest cloud storage network to date.ULabs - The Evolution of Cloud StorageULabs has taken the concept of cloud storage one step further by providing their users with proprietary hardware. The Ubbey box allows Ulabs to further reduce the price of storing large files on their blockchain and makes implementing the ULabs software easy. ULabs is also the only file storage firm to build their own blockchain from the ground up. Ulabs is able to provide faster access to your data by avoiding the use of already existing blockchains such as BTC or ETH; both of which have experienced network congestion problems over the last couple years. This innovative platform combines the best features from the competition and combines them with the reliability of a private blockchain network. The development team behind this project has put forth considerable effort in creating the next level in cloud storage platforms.Aim for the CloudsIt’s exciting to see the developments that are occurring in this sector. Who would have thought that you could be getting paid for your unused HD space? Blockchain technology is changing what it means to conduct business and the future is looking bright for everyone who is wise enough to step in this direction. Hopefully, in the future, we will see even more developments in the area of blockchain-based cloud file storage as platforms such as Ulabs continue to shape the future of this growing industry.

Why Blockchain-based Sharing Platforms are the Future

What's up guys? I wanted to strike up a convo on the sharing economy and how blockchain technology is transforming this age-old sector into a newly revitalized area of economic growth. Sharing assets has become extremely popular over the last decade and the introduction of blockchain technology to the sector seems to be the catalyst needed to take the sharing economy to the next level. What is the Sharing Economy?I figure I should start off at square one for all of you who are not familiar with the term "sharing economy". The sharing economy is the economics involved in Peer-to-Peer asset sharing of goods and services. There are already a couple famous sharing platforms that you are most likely familiar with such as Uber or Airbnb. Both of these organizations allow participates to earn extra cash for sharing their services and property. The Sharing economy has experienced record growth over the last five years and today you can share everything from your leftovers to your dog. While platforms such as Streetbank, which allows you to share anything with your neighbors, are built on local trust, blockchain-based systems could create a more secure sharing environment for everyone involved.Blockchain Sharing PlatformsThere are already some well-known blockchain-based sharing platforms in operation such as Power Ledger. The Power Ledger platform allows participants to share their excess electricity and earn crypto for their contributions. This is an innovative concept that has been eyed by numerous governments including China's State Electricity firm.Blockchain is the FutureBlockchain technology allows for the automation of the monitoring and profit distribution of a sharing platform. This makes it possible to share anything with an exactness that would have been unachievable only a few years prior. There are already a number of digital storage platforms that allow users to share their unused hard drive space in exchange for crypto. Filecoin, Sai, and Storj are some of the most popular in operation in the marketplace at this time. The innovative minds behind the ULabs project are taking this concept even further by providing a portable hardware solution to the market.Share AnythingThe sharing economy is booming and this is why you can expect to see continued development in this sector. The platform ShareRing takes this concept to an entirely new level by allowing users to share anything via the ShareRing protocol. ShareRing developers are creating a specially designed blockchain network that will utilize two tokens to provide users with the ability to share, literally, anything. The ShareToken (SHR) is used as the platform's utility token, while the SharePay (SHRP) token is used as the currency within the platform. SharePay is earned by sharing your items on the platform such as renting out your home or car, or by becoming a network node. ShareRing is transforming the sharing economy by creating a universal platform that combines the security of blockchain technology with the convenience of sharing platforms already in existence.Share Your ThoughtsIt is exciting to see how the sharing economy continues to develop and there is no doubt that blockchain technology will play a major role in shaping this economic sector for years to come. What do you guys think? Are you ready to "share" your way to some crypto? (lmao) Let me know and let's chat.

OK let's go to zero together but here are some thoughts

There is a lot of despair in this sub and in the other BTC ones. This comes mainly because a lot of people came for quick profit. You know how much time on average it took for us older crypto guys to make profits? Usually from investment to big profit it took an average of one year. That's when you lock in the 50x and 100x.The second thing is that a lot of people came in January and all they know is sorrow. If all you know is sorrow then you sell at a loss and go home. Sad but the sharks eat your money because you are not strong. Also there is this tendency to ultra-believe in either Twitter cryptostars who in general either 1) don't know what they are talking about but put cool images or 2) they know perfectly but they tell you the opposite to either buy your bags or dump them on you.Lastly, even if there is some evidence of TA analysis making some profits (although I am a proponent of fundamental Buffet style analysis and investment and don't pay attention to signals etc) these are used by either 1) automated traded AIs or 2) very experienced fund managers or traders from wall street. But you and me are none of that.So the best thing you can do is invest in good projects and not panic sell. I can assure you that altcoins dropped from 1 to 0.3 and then went to 3 units from May 2017 to Dec 2017. This is a 10X since despair moments. All the news and analysis is that cryptocurrency is here to stay. A lot of prominent people have talked favorable, a lot of governments are paying attention, many of them don't want to over regulate. Regulation is not a bad thing and it's silly to sell whenever you see some new regulation article. Regulation protects us from scams. Only when the market is regulated then the big institutional money will come in. They don't go to trade in a bazaar they go to trade in Sotheby's.I suggest that if you don't believe in crypto and you are just here to make quick bucks that you are in for a big surprise and big losses. If on the other hand you are here because you believe in technology, 2018 and 2019 are going to be phenomenal years.Seriously, do you think your money is better either in:cash (-2% inflation devaluation) annually or crypto?Stock market (which is in a huge bubble area) or crypto?Don't get emotional. This is a long term game.

We need more FIAT gateways to increase Cryptocurrency adoption - COSS just added 4 FIAT pairs

I was talking to a coworker about Cryptocurrency and telling him why now might be a good time for him to get in and start investing. Only problem is in Canada several banks are starting to restrict Cryptocurrency purchases using both Credit and Debit (i.e. TD Bank). For example using your credit card with Coinbase is almost impossible now for most Canadian banks. Coinbase was one of the primary methods for the average Joe to enter crypto in Canada. Me and several other friends got into cryptocurrency early 2017 because of the ease of access. One of the problems with this is that when my coworker tried to purchase cryptocurrency on Coinbase recently and got rejected he didn't bother trying other avenues. Other not as well known options however do work such as COSS. I recommended he try COSS which added a new FIAT purchasing gateway recently. He was able to successfully deposit USD using COSS and purchased ETH. Anyways the point is that having more FIAT gateways is extremely important so that users have several options of purchasing crypto in case one option doesn't work. We need to do our part and help spread awareness of other FIAT gateways that have worked well for others. Another one for Canadian users that works really well is Coinsquare. So if you're stuck figuring out how to invest in Cryptocurrency give COSS or coinsquare a try!

First Cardano smart contracts testnet launches

Here is the official statement:"The first Cardano smart contracts testnet launches today, the KEVM testnet, a correct by construction version of the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) specified in the K framework. This technology, produced by Runtime Verification with the support of IOHK, is the first time that a complete formal semantics of the EVM have been produced. This is an important first in cryptocurrency that is a necessary step towards the promise of third-generation blockchains.A smart contract allows you to exchange something of value - money, property, shares - by means of a software protocol. The terms of exchange are agreed upon by the parties involved in the same way as a traditional contract, and the contract is executed automatically on the blockchain.Developers will be able to take any application that runs on the EVM and execute it on the KEVM, which can also be used to rigorously prove that smart contracts work correctly. This is done by formally specifying a contract’s desired properties in K, combining the contract with the KEVM specification, and then using the K framework to verify those properties. Our second Cardano testnet to launch will be IELE, which is a new virtual machine for Cardano. IELE will be launched in July and is a register-based virtual machine similar to LLVM with an unbounded number of registers, that supports unbounded integers. With IELE, developers can write, compile and execute smart contracts in the language of their choosing ( C, Java, JavaScript, Python, Solidity, Plutus, Vyper and about 20 more...), with improved security and performance compared to the KEVM testnet. For now, we recommend that developers use the Solidity language on both testnets. However, the vision is that eventually smart contracts will be written in high-level languages that translate to IELE, such as new languages like Plutus (being developed by IOHK), but also existing languages such as Java or Python, and then IELE-to-IELE translators ensure the resulting code is optimal.K was developed by Runtime Verification in collaboration with Professor Grigore Rosu’s Formal Systems Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign during the past 15 years, and incorporates the state of the art in language design, semantics and formal methods. Read more about the K framework in this blog from Prof Rosu, founder of Runtime Verification. A blog about formal verification and what this means for smart contracts will follow soon.Smart contracts must be formally verified, so they run exactly as specified and are free from bugs or flaws. Only then can they be widely adopted as financial infrastructure that can be relied upon by billions of people. We look forward to receiving your valuable feedback about using the testnets which will help us make Cardano best in class."==> TESTNET: https://testnet.iohkdev.io/goguen/==> Official Announcement: https://ift.tt/2GZwUdw

Is most volume on exchanges fake? Probably.

Two months ago, Sylvain Ribes wrote a rather interesting article, and presented the results of his research on fake volumes on exchanges: https://ift.tt/2GcYnK5 His finding was rather disturbing. "By my reckoning, over $3 billion dollars of daily volume is nonexistent. Possibly more," he wrote. The charts in the article are quite alarming, and makes one wonder the true magnitude of fabricated volume on all exchanges. Is it half of all volume? Is it 70 percent? Or is it even more?I will not answer this question, but instead take you somewhere to see fake volume with your own eyes: TopBTC, an exchange that lists "specialty coins." Examine trades on any pair on that exchange, and you will notice fake transactions quite quickly.Take the ETH-OMG pair... At the time of writing, the highest bid was at 0.01685, and the lowest ask at 0.02050: https://ift.tt/2J6k7LF This is a somewhat large margin, as is common in smaller exchanges, but what is interesting is that some random trade takes place on this pair (as well as most, if not all other pairs) every three minutes in average. Here is how it goes: the bot will enter, say an ask of .01809, and then it will go ahead and "buy" it in less than two or three seconds. None of the actual users will get a chance to complete the transaction that quickly, so the trade will conclude as intended, and the volume will increase. About three minutes later, a similar bid or ask will be placed, and will again be fulfilled almost instantly. The highest bid and the lowest ask amounts will often stay there for hours, as there are few people participating in that market, but exchange bots will be inflating the volume with fake transactions every three minutes in average.Sometimes things get even more interesting... As I happened to notice a moment ago by random chance, asks and bids are randomly being placed and removed on the ETH-KWH pair on the same exchange every single second. It turns out that it was a code glitch! Someone entered an order and closed the gap between the lowest ask (0.00003900) and the highest bid (0.00003899). Not finding any room to place a fake order, the bot started to place them in other places, and still fulfilled them! If you read this within the hour of publication, you can view the list of past trades indicating figures that are outside of the highest bid-lowest ask margin: https://ift.tt/2L18DpM I suggest you take a screen snapshot! This is serious, and this is something for all cryptocurrency investors to think about. Volumes are major indicators of coin popularity, yet exchanges ruin this measure for everyone, and lead them to make investment decisions on false information. BEZOP, for example, celebrated achieving one million dollars of daily volume with a tweet five hours ago: https://twitter.com/BezopNetwork/status/1000703020303298562 Guess what exchange it is on!

Let's face it, most people are either too stupid, or too lazy to use cryptocurrency.

I hate to burst everyone's bubbles, but have any of you actually ever tried to get someone outside the fringe to use a cryptocurrency? If not, let me tell you, it's like trying to teach a 1 year old how to shit on a toilet. The saving grace for the adoption of cryptocurrency is unfortunately centralization, a big brother to help the dumb and the lazy use their cryptocurrency via banks, and to recover their passwords when they no doubt lose them. And the great evils of the world who create financial crisis such as Goldman Sachs to invest in cryptocurrencies for them, that is the sad sad future ahead. There is however a silver lining, which is that you will still be able to be a decentralized participant, as the centralized ones boost the adoption, credibility, and value of your bags... so no worries going forward mates!

What's the point of cryptocurrency?

Ok forget about price and candles for a second, let's pretend my name's Debbie and I'm a single mother of three kids, living in the US Midwest. I'm reasonably educated, like The Cranberries and often take photos of me and my best friend with fake rabbit ears and whiskers.Let's pretend you're my neighbour, Todd. You're young, work in IT, cycle to work and you're a crypto evangelist. We're at a bbq and you corner me.Within thirty seconds you start talking about Bitcoin and the coming financial revolution - I turn to you and say "Todd, honey, why would I pay with bitcoins when my bank card is accepted everywhere? I just want to pay for my stuff and go."How do you convince me to start using crypto?

Verge is still a steaming mess, despite all the glitter it has recently been decorated with

Nice logo. Big partnerships. Flashy website. Promises of privacy. """Wraith Protocol""".Anybody who knows better can take a close look and see that their tech is weak, and that they blatantly fail to deliver the service they're claiming to provide. There is nothing there but some pretty wallets and some disorganized copy-pasted code. Just about what you'd expect considering they only have a couple of active developers. It's literally a coin running on ignorance and trickery. Without its community of brain-dead zealots, it would drop off the map faster than a flatearther canoeing to Australia. The community is a cult-like group of blind followers which scream FUD whenever they disagree, and at almost every word they don't understand. The team is a bunch of stoners with little technical knowledge (excluding a choice few) which ban anyone not keeping exactly in-line with their personal beliefs. Now that they are in the spotlight, many new players are entering the crypto world with XVG in their portfolios, and the administration team continues to make utter fools of themselves. The way they act is altogether childish and arrogant, and completely without warrant or common sense. It seems to be a conglomerate of high school dropouts with no understanding of blockchain technology (even that of the coin they support). This isn't going to change. They are making us all look bad.Disclaimer: I do not hold verge, and am not in any way attempting to give investment advice. Please make your own educated decisions, and do not see this post as a signal in any way.

Eos white paper: we are just an expensive server instead of a blockchain

Eos white paper:"Sometimes a smart contact behaves in an aberrant or unpredictable manner and fails to perform as intended; other times an application or account may discover an exploit that enables it to consume an unreasonable amount of resources. When such issues inevitably occur, the block producers have the power to rectify such situations."A centralized blockchain has no use case. It's a much more expensive version of using the cloud. If there's an entity that can be sued to remove something from the blockchain there's no point to it, a normal server is always going to be faster and cheaper.

Edenchain Delivers What They Promise

Edenchain is bringing up with a blockchain platform to capitalize and trade all types of assets by using programmable economy technology. This is fast, secure and reliable blockchain platform technology that allows all your tangible and intangible values to be capitalized under smart contract blockchain, and freely trades through the internet without a middle man.BenefitsIt will reduce transaction cost by removing middle man.It can redistribute the profits that the middle man has monopolized. It creates a new market that has never existed through the capitalization of domestic and foreign materials, which potentially can enrich many peoples’ lives by returning the economic benefits back to them.Major Technical IssuesThere are 2 major technical issues in achieving programmable economics in the current blockchain technologyPerformanceSecured connectivitySolutionEden solves these technical problems with breakthrough technology. Eden uses Merkle Tree and Namespace to solve performance issue by executing all the transactions in different Namespaces in parallel.E-Oracle system for external system and also MVT(Median Voter Theorem) as a consensus algorithm provides reliability and safety.E-Protocol system by using ECC-TC is very powerful mechanism that can protect Eden from attack of hackers by encrypting all network data.Let us learn more about Merkle Tree and NamespaceMerkle TreeIn cryptography and computer science, a hash tree or Merkle tree is a tree in which every leaf node is labelled with the hash of a data block and every non-leaf node is labelled with the cryptographic hash of the labels of its child nodes. Hash trees allow efficient and secure verification of the contents of large data structures. Hash trees are a generalization of hash lists and hash chains. Demonstrating that a leaf node is a part of a given binary hash tree requires computing a number of hashes proportional to the logarithm of the number of leaf nodes of the tree; this contrasts with hash lists, where the number is proportional to the number of leaf nodes itself. The concept of hash trees is named after Ralph Merkle who patented it in 1979.Source : WikipediaNamespaceIn computing, a namespace is a set of symbols that are used to organize objects of various kinds, so that these objects may be referred to by name. Prominent examples include:file systems are namespaces that assign names to files.some programming languages organize their variables and subroutines in namespaces.computer networks and distributed systems assign names to resources, such as computers, printers, websites, (remote) files, etc.Namespaces are commonly structured as hierarchies to allow reuse of names in different contexts. As an analogy, consider a system of naming of people where each person has a proper name, as well as a family name shared with their relatives. If the first names of family members are unique only within each family, then each person can be uniquely identified by the combination of first name and family name; there is only one Jane Doe, though there may be many Janes. Within the namespace of the Doe family, just "Jane" suffices to unambiguously designate this person, while within the "global" namespace of all people, the full name must be used.In a similar way, hierarchical file systems organize files in directories. Each directory is a separate namespace, so that the directories "letters" and "invoices" may both contain a file "to_jane".In computer programming, namespaces are typically employed for the purpose of grouping symbols and identifiers around a particular functionality and to avoid name collisionsbetween multiple identifiers that share the same name.In networking, the Domain Name System organizes websites (and other resources) into hierarchical namespaces.Source : WikipediaUser case Initial Coin Offerings (ICO), IoT, Shared Economy, Gaming, Finance and so on, as it can capitalize valuable assets and execute transactions fast, securely and at a reasonable cost.Launch and PrototypeTeam had promised to demonstrate Two MVPs before crowdsale. The team has already released the Both MVP. This shows that the team is able to deliver on its promises.E-Explorer : The E-Explorer will be the first among many products built on Edenchain. In the demo, the E-Explorer is used to show transactions, batches and blocks produced on our testnet.E-Edge : It is a web interface for developers to manage APIs and namespaces. The use of RESTful APIs in Edenchain makes it easy for enterprise users to adopt Edenchain blockchain platform! Most developers have extensive experience using APIs, and Edenchain's APIs will allow them to easily tokenize their products and services on Edenchain blockchain platform, without needing specialised blockchain developers. This keeps cost of development for building a blockchain platform significantly lower than other products such as Hyperledger! They deliver as they promised till now so i am considering it one of the best project. You can leave your reviews in comment below and we can discuss more about this project.

How I made $600 out of nothing: A quick reminder that this market makes no sense at all

So about a week ago I received an AirDrop of a meme coin, for those who watch Silicon Valley it's the PiedPiper Coin. It's an ICO in the TV Show that a company launch, so for the fun a team of people decided to launch this coin as an ERC20 token, in real life. No ICO, just an AirDrop to early users, 750 coins (max supply 10M).Their website (that they literally launched an hour ago): piperchain.ioAnyway, I received the coins about a week ago. The 750 coins were worth $30 at the beginning.Today I just sold them for a whopping 0.85 ETH. I just sold a coin made out of nothing for 0.85 ETH. How, HOW.Anyway, if your top coin isn't up 40% despite being awesome, remember that this market doesn't make any sense (for now at least).

Compilation of all my cryptocurrency analyses so far

I started researching and writing about cryptocurrencies last year because I noticed there was a lack of thoughtful cryptocurrency articles - many articles were click-baity with little substance. I wanted to fill the need for in-depth and well researched fundamental analyses. Each deep dive I've written took several days to research and write. Here's a list of cryptocurrency analysis articles I've done so far:MakerDAOUpdated OmiseGo AnalysisBinance CoinVeChain ThorEnigmaEOSCardanoThetaNEONANORippleIOTAStellarZapWavesOmiseGoQTUMThe last time I asked /r/cryptocurrency on what cryptocurrency I should analyse next, the subreddit voted for VeChain. Which Are Your Top 5 Platforms Out Of The Top100? An Analysis.

There are currently a lot of platforms, more specifically, there are 35 platforms within the Top100 only and many do very similar things. How is one supposed to know how they differ? That was the question that I asked myself. So, I decided to compare all platforms within the Top100. I noticed that they can be put into into 5 different categories. Note: A platform is a cryptocurrency that offers smart contracts at least.Dapps platforms - 12BaaS - 11Liquidity - 2Misc - 7Behemoths -3Here are all platforms in an excel spread sheet in their categories with a description: https://ift.tt/2IAFfu9 order to find out which one is the best platform in each market currently and made sure to be strict with every platform and point out their flaws. So let's look at the 5 markets.1) Dapps platformsDapps platform are definitely a solid bet for the next years. Neo, EOS and Stellar are probably the most known here, however, all 3 are simply extremely centralized and would need to completely change their architecture to become more decentralized. Until that happens, none of these platform can really be considered as a platform with good technology, since everyone can achieve high scalability by letting a few hundred nodes do the consensus algorithm. There is nothing difficult about that. The difficulty is achieving several million TPS with 100,000 deciding consensus.Cardano, Aeternity are the only ones that seem to be able to maintain excellent decentralization with high scalability, because they scale through side-chains/horizontally.Cardano has a great team, has probably the most secure PoS that was peer-reviewed in a scientific approach, has their mainnet launched, has near infinite scalability through sidechains and offers broad usability of Smart contracts a number of programming languages.NEO is a very established platform in this category. However, Neo dapps scale on-chain and can thus clog the network quickly. For that reason, NEO had to pick a very centralized approach to maintain scalability and it looking to rely on hand-picked nodes to maintain scalability in the future, very similar to EOS also very centralized approach of 121 handpicked nodes.Neblio is similar to NEO and a good platform, though it has a much smaller market capEOS has high scalability, though is much more centralized than Skycoin, Elastos and Cardano. However, it offers a lot of functionality for Dapps. EOS is overhyped. It is on the same level as Neblio, Neo, Aeternity, but not on the same level as Skycoin, Elastos, IOTA, Cardano. SEthereum is a 2nd generation blockchain that allows the use of smart contracts and dapps on a smaller scope. Ethereum currently has bad scalability, though this concern could be alleviated by the soon to be implemented Sharding concept and its new PoS/PoW consensus algorithm Casper. Still, there are platforms with much more comprehensive dapp ecosystems, and much more scalability. Howver, Ethereum just closed a partnership with AWS. This is probalby the biggest partnership in the cryptosphere. However, in order to be better than any of the top 3 platforms. It would need to provide Oracles, a lot more functionality for dapps, partnerships, decentralized data storage, cloud computing.Stellar has similar goals as Ripple, only that it is more a platform than only a currency, so it does offer more functionality. Ripple needs to be significantly better in forging partnerships if they want to overtake Stellar. Stellar uses Byzantine Fault Tolerance in the consensus protocol, which ensures secure consensus can be reached (moving the blockchain forward) even if a large percentage of nodes are disabled or acting dishonestly. It also helps keep nodes distributed. Stellar is a good platform with tight involvement with banks. While it doesn't have as much functionality as all above platforms, it can carve out its niche by doing really good business with banks.Aeternity: We’ve seen recently, that it’s difficult to scale the execution of smart contracts on the blockchain. Crypto Kitties is a great example. Something as simple as creating and trading unique assets on Ethereum bogged the network down when transaction volume soared. Ethereum and Zilliqa address this problem with Sharding. Aeternity focuses on increasing the scalability of smart contracts and dapps by moving smart contracts off-chain. Instead of running on the blockchain, smart contracts on Aeternity run in private state channels between the parties involved in the contracts. State channels are lines of communication between parties in a smart contract. They don’t touch the blockchain unless they need to for adjudication or transfer of value. Because they’re off-chain, state channel contracts can operate much more efficiently. They don’t need to pay the network for every time they compute and can also operate with greater privacy. An important aspect of smart contract and dapp development is access to outside data sources. This could mean checking the weather in London, score of a football game, or price of gold. Oracles provide access to data hosted outside the blockchain. In many blockchain projects, oracles represent a security risk and potential point of failure, since they tend to be singular, centralized data streams. Aeternity proposes decentralizing oracles with their oracle machine. Doing so would make outside data immutable and unchangeable once it reaches Aeternity’s blockchain. Of course, the data source could still be hacked, so Aeternity implements a prediction market where users can bet on the accuracy and honesty of incoming data from various oracles. It also uses prediction markets for various voting and verification purposes within the platform. Aeternity’s network runs on on a hybrid of proof of work and proof of stake. Founded by a long-time crypto-enthusiast and early colleague of Vitalik Buterin, Yanislav Malahov.IOST: To improve speed and scalability, IOStoken uses a Proof of Believability consensus mechanism eliminating the need for an energy-hungry proof-of-work protocol, which stands as a barrier to blockchain scaling up for widespread adoption. With this system, a node is validated based on its past contributions and behaviors. Moreover, to increase fairness and to most fully embrace the decentralized nature of the blockchain, IOS uses a “fairness” algorithm that randomly distributes data to various nodes. It’s intended to support service-oriented goods and services with large customer bases. Decentralized applications and smart contracts, the hallmarks of blockchain platforms, are a priority for IOS as well.Request Network: Req payments can be used for online purchases, business to business invoices, escrow, advanced payments and eventually IoT payments between machines. Other than payments, the Request Network is also tackling auditing and budget transparency. Businesses have the ability to track invoices to audit payments as well as record transactions for accounting purposes. Governments, nonprofits, and other organizations can also use Request to bring transparency to their budget and expenditures.Rchain: Similar to Ethereum with smart contracts, though much more scalable at an expected 40,000 TPS and possible 100,000 TPS. However, Rchain Not launched yet and the only difference it offers is scalability and smart contracts.Ziliqa: Zilliqa is building a new way of sharding, so that 10,000 tps are soon possible by being linearly scalable with the number of nodes. That means, the more nodes, the faster the network gets. They are looking at implementing privacy as well.Rchain is an ok platform. The only difference it offers is scalability and smart contracts.Ethereum classic is the original Ethereum that decided not to fork after a hack for philosophical reasons. The Ethereum that we know is its fork.2) BaaS (Blockchain-as-a-Service)BaaS take a different route to adoption than mere Dapps platforms. They are also dapp platforms, but focus on businesses (B2B) instead of end-users (B2C) within the cryptosphere. They sell their blockchain services to companies, who then can build their own customizable blockchain as a side-chain to the BaaS without hassle and worry about technology or blockchain architecture. This is all handled by the BaaS company already and the customer only needs to change a few variables and they have their own blockchain. Side-chains are interesting, because they allow virtually infinite scaling, since there can be an infinite number of side-chains that only communicate with the main-chain occasionally and handle the majority of transactions on their own chain. This is also called horizontal scaling. The success of a BaaS platform largely depends on its ability to close partnerships to sell to large businesses and having the best usability. The more contracts they can sell to businesses and institutions, the more valuable it will be. For that reason, the BaaS with the best ability to form partnerships and do sales will win this market. Technology isn't as important here. Of course, the platform has to work without bugs, but having a platform with outstanding technology, average usability and average marketing will lose against a platform with average technology, great usability and great marketing.VeChain is a Singapore-based project that’s building a business enterprise platform and inventory tracking system. . While it is not really competing with the above mentioned platforms, any of them can build supply management tools into their platform and compete with VeChain. However, VeChain has very strong partnerships. This gives them some protection of any of the above mentioned entering the market. Examples are verifying genuine luxury goods and food supply chains. Has one of the strongest communities in the crypto world. If you are looking for something more high risk, high return, have a look into Ambrosus and Devery(Eve). Both also seem to be good at building partnerships, which is the most important characteristic for a supply chain platform required to succeed.Icon is also called the Korean Ethereum. However, it specializes more on building communities in partnerships with and building customizable blockchains for banks, insurance providers, hospitals, and universities. Icon has a focus on on ID verification and payments. Icon is just behind Vechain, because with Samsung and Line, it simply has the strongest partnerships out of all after VeChain.WTC is a supply chain management platform, similar to Vechain, however, with fewer partnerships.Komodo’s open-source platform is for doing transparent, anonymous, private, and fungible transactions. They are then made ultra-secure using Bitcoin’s blockchain via a Delayed Proof of Work (dPoW) protocol and decentralized crowdfunding (ICO) platform to remove middlemen from project funding. Offers services for startups to create and manage their own Blockchains. While it doesn't have as many partnerships as other BaaS, it is the only BaaS that offers privacy.NEM: The NEM blockchain powers what they call the Smart Asset System. This system is intended to be an open, customizable blockchain solution for any number of use cases built on top of simple, powerful API calls. NEM started as a NXT fork and introduced a new consensus mechanism called Proof of Importance (PoI), designed to reward users’ contribution to the XEM community. It is roughly based on proof-of-stake, but it also reflects how active a user is in transacting with other users. POW rewards powerful computers and also requires excessive amounts of energy. POS gives an unfair advantage to coin hoarders. The more coins they keep in their accounts, the more they earn, meaning that the rich get richer and everyone has an incentive to save coins instead of spending them.Ark is a fork of Lisk, which is doubling down on a smaller feature set than Lisk. Ark is a good BaaS, though it doesn't have many partnerships. Furthermore, they haven't launched their platform yet.Dragonchain: The Purpose of DragonChain is to help companies quickly and easily incorporate blockchain into their business applications. Many companies might be interested in making this transition because of the benefits associated with serving clients over a blockchain – increased efficiency and security for transactions, a reduction of costs from eliminating potential fraud and scams, etc. Dragonchain is a good BaaS, though it doesn't have many partnerships. However, it was funded by Disney, so it is able to get partnerships more easy.LISK: Lisk's difference to other BaaS is that side chains are independent to the main chain and have to have their own nodes. Similar to neo whole allows dapps to deploy their blockchain too . Still in development. Lisk is a good BaaS, though it doesn't have many partnerships. Furthermore, they haven't launched their platform yet.Stratis: Different to LISK, Stratis will allow businesses and organizations to create their own blockchain according to their own needs, but secured on the parent Stratis chain. Stratis’s simple interface will allow organizations to quickly and easily deploy and/or test blockchain functionality of the Ethereum, BitShares, BitCoin, Lisk and Stratis environements.Stratis is similar to Lisk, but also doesn't have many partnershipsARDR: Ardor is a public blockchain platform that will allow people to utilize the blockchain technology of Nxt through the use of child chains. A child chain, which is a ‘light’ blockchain that can be customized to a certain extent, is designed to allow easy self-deploy for your own blockchain. Nxt claims that users will "not need to worry" about security, as that part is now handled by the main chain (Ardor). This is the chief innovation of Ardor. Ardor was evolved from NXT by the same company. NEM started as a NXT clone.Bytom: Bytom is an interactive protocol of multiple financial assets ( digital currency, digital assets warrants, securities, dividends, bonds, intelligence information, forecasting information and other information that exist in the physical world) can be registered, exchanged, gambled and engaged in other more complicated and contract-based interoperations via Bytom.3) LiquidityThere are really only 2 platforms in the Liquidity market, albeit the Liquidity market could be one of the biggest markets with insitutional investors entering the cryptoworld soon, since there is very little liquidity in Bitcoin. For example, say a pension fund wants to buy $10B in Bitcoins. No single exchange has that many Bitcoins available and it would wreak havoc on the market. This wouldn't be a problem with Liquidity platforms, since they pull all order books together and back up market liquidity with FIAT money among other things.QASH is used to fuel its liquid platform which will be an exchange that will distribute their liquidity pool. Its product, the Worldbook is a multi-exchange order book that matches crypto to crypto, and crypto to fiat and the reverse across all currencies. E.g., someone is selling Bitcoin is USD on exchange1 not owned by Quoine and someone is buying Bitcoin in EURO on exchange 2 not owned by Quoine. If the forex conversions and crypto conversions match then the trade will go through and the Worldbook will match it, it'll make the sale and the purchase on either exchange and each user will get what they wanted, which means exchanges with lower liquidity if they join the Worldbook will be able to fill orders and take trade fees they otherwise would miss out on.They turned it on to test it a few months ago for an hour or so and their exchange was the top exchange in the world by 4x volume for the day because all Worldbook trades ran through it. Binance wants BNB to be used on their one exchange. Qash wants their QASH token embedded in all of their partners. More info here https://ift.tt/2GBpq02 is doing something completely different as the above mentioned. It offers liquidity in an illiquid market. Sell shovels during a gold rushLoopring is similar to Qash, only that it functions as a dezentralized exchange, while QASH is more of an API without a user interface. It is a protocol that will enable higher liquidity between exchanges and personal wallets by pooling all orders sent to its network and fill these orders through the order books of multiple exchanges. When using Loopring, traders never have to deposit funds into an exchange to begin trading. Even with decentralized exchanges like Ether Delta, IDex, or Bitshares, you’d have to deposit your funds onto the platform, usually via an Ethereum smart contract. But with Loopring, funds always remain in user wallets and are never locked by orders. This gives you complete autonomy over your funds while trading, allowing you to cancel, trim, or increase an order before it is executed.4) MiscThese are platforms that are focused on a specialized functionalityNebulas: Similar to how google indexes webpages Nebulas will index blockchain projects, smart contracts & data using the Nebulas rank algorithm that sifts & sorts the data. Developers rewarded NAS to develop & deploy on NAS chain. Nebulas calls this developer incentive protocol – basically rewards are issued based on how often dapp/contract etc. is used, the more the better the rewards and Proof of devotion. Works like DPoS except the best, most economically incentivised developers (Bookkeepers) get the forging spots. Ensuring brains stay with the project (Cross between PoI & PoS). 2,400 TPS+, DAG used to solve the inter-transaction dependencies in the PEE (Parallel Execution Environment) feature, first crypto Wallet that supports the Lightening Network.Nebulas is the only one doing what it's doing. This makes them very unique and a good investment.Centrality is a decentralized market place for dapps that are all connected together on a blockchain-powered system. Centrality aims to allow businesses to work together using blockchain technology. With Centrality, startups can collaborate through shared acquisition of customers, data, merchants, and content. That shared acquisition occurs across the Centrality blockchain, which hosts a number of decentralized apps called Scenes. Companies can use CENTRA tokens to purchase Scenes for their app, then leverage the power of the Centrality ecosystem to quickly scale. Some of Centrality's top dapps are, Skoot, a travel experience marketplace that consists of a virtual companion designed for free independent travelers and inbound visitors, Belong, a marketplace and an employee engagement platform that seems at helping business provide rewards for employees, Merge, a smart travel app that acts as a time management system, Ushare, a transports application that works across rental cars, public transport, taxi services, electric bikes and more. All of these dapps are able to communicate with each other and exchange data through Centrality. Centrality is the only one doing what it's doing. This makes them very unique and a good investment.Salt: Leveraging blockchain assets to secure cash loans. Plans to offer cash loans in traditional currencies, backed by your cryptocurrency assets. Allows lenders worldwide to skip credit checks for easier access to affordable loans.Salt is a good lending platform. However, there is also Elixir, a better investment with a 30x smaller market cap, but also strong technology. Elixir has such a low market cap, because they didn't have an ICO and they only focused on development and no marketing. As of last week, they started marketing.Aion: Today, there are hundreds of blockchains. In the coming years, those hundreds will become thousands and—with ,widespread adoption by mainstream business and government—millions. Blockchains don’t talk to each other at all right now, they are like the PCs of the 1980s. The Aion network is able to support custom blockchain architectures while still allowing for cross-chain interoperability by enabling users to exchange data between any Aion-compliant blockchains by making use of an interchain framework that allows for messages to be relayed between blockchains in a completely trust-free manner.Waves is a dex, an important part of the crypto ecosystem.A good investment.ChainLink is a decentralized oracle service, the first of its kind. Oracles are defined as an ‘agent’ that finds and verifies real-world occurrences and submits this information to a blockchain to be used in smart contracts. With ChainLink, smart contract users can use the network’s oracles to retrieve data from off-chain application program interfaces (APIs), data pools, and other resources and integrate them into the blockchain and smart contracts. Basically, ChainLink takes information that is external to blockchain applications and puts it on-chain. The difference to Aeternity is that Chainlink deploys the smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain. Chainlink's main functionality is oracles, a functionality also offered by IOTA.QTUM: Smart Contracts on the Bitcoin blockchain. QTUM is a smart contracts for BTC, a very niche market. Furthermore, BTC might offer smart contracts itself soon and make QTUM obsolete. Hopefully QTUM will expand into more smart contracts functionality to become relevant again.Nebulas with Indexing the Blockchain world and Salt with Lending are probably the 2 most interesting platforms here. Nebulas doesn't have a single competitor, though there are several competitors to Salt with a much smaller market cap and with similar development progress, ELIX.5) BehemothsThere are 3 platforms that have not been discussed yet. However, they can do most what the above platforms can do and have the potential to steal the market of all above mentioned platforms. That's why I call them behemoths.IOTA:With the launch of Q in 2 weeks, IOTA is about to offer what 28 platforms within the Top 100 are offering (!) and they are probably looking to replace several more. Smart Contracts and soon probably also dapps( Cardano, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, Aeternity, Zilliqa, Rchain) Oracles (Aeternity, ChainLink) Currency Exchange( Bitshares, ZRX, Cryptonex, Achain, Req) Outsourced Cloud Computing (DBC, Aelf, Golem), Scalable Currency(Bitcoin, Ripple, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Dash, Bitcoin Gold, Nano, Bitcoin Diamond, Dogecoin, Digibyte, Decred, Bitcoin Atom.) IOTA is at the same level as Skycoin and Elastos. However, SKY's flagship product is the Decentralized Internet and ELA's is the most comprehensive dapps operating system in the cryptosphere, which IOTA cannot really replicate in the near future, because it takes years of reseach and development. This protects ELA and SKY from IOTA for now. However, it looks like IOTA can snatch up all the smaller, easier to replicate markets, such as cloud computing, oracles, smart contracts, decentralized storage, currency exchange and soon possibly also supply chain management, BaaS functionality, privacy, security identification since none of those are really hard to build. However, Skycoin and Elastos will probably focus on their flagships and leave IOTA to scoop up all the rest. It will be an interesting year.Skycoin: Skycoin is building what Pied Piper is building in the series HBO's Silicon Valley, a completely decentralized internet that is not run by ISPs, but by IoT devices, making telecom providers like Comcast, ISPs who can control bandwith, cost, net neutrality, filters, access etc. obsolete and completely decentralize them. Skycoin offers what 27 coins are offering: Smart Contracts and Dapps (11 coins), Decentralized Storage (4 coins) and Scalable Currency (12 coins). If you think that the decentralized Internet will blow all other markets out of the water and will be the biggest invention of this decade, then Skycoin is your pick, because covers that and what 27 coins do.Elastos started out as a mobile operating system 18 years ago and has now moved towards a smart contracts platform, operating system and a runtime environment for Dapps. Thanks to side-chains they are near infinitely scalable and is thus also very decentralized. Elastos is offering what 37 coins are offering Smart Contracts and Dapps (11 coins), Decentralized Storage (4 coins) and Scalable Currency (12 coins), BaaS(10 coins). If you are very convinced that BaaS solutions and dapps platforms will be the big winners for 2018, then Elastos is your pick as far as I can see, because it is probably the best BaaS and dapps platform with near infinite scalability and the best decentralization and thus does what 37 coins do.3 Closing QuestionsAll of the above findings leave me with those 3 questions. What are your thoughts? Why invest in any of Dapps platforms (Cardano, Neblio, EOS, Stellar, Neo, Aeternity, Rchain, IOST, Ziliqa, Ethereum, Eth classic) when Elastos and Skycoin do everything they do, are extremely decentralized and scalable through side-chain/off-chain/horizontal scaling and offer lots more functionality beyond that? Why invest in any BaaS (Ontology, Komodo, NEM, Ark ,Dragonchain, LISK, Stratis, ARDR) if ICX and VeChain offer everything what all of the above offer and already have 10x more partnerships than their competitors? It looks like out of all 35 platforms, only 5 are really strong: IOTA, Skycoin, Elastos, VeChain, ICX. While the first 3 seem to cover already almost half of the top 100, the last 2 really convince in the partnership department. What's the argument for investing in any of the 30 other platforms? Maybe that they can specialise on a specific feature set, however, is this really a convincing argument? The cryptoworld is harsh and if you can't keep up with competition, you'll be moved out of the market quickly.

Scam exchange: CoinExchange.io literally stole my money and not responding to my tickets, community must be warned

Hello everyone, I want to warn you about this shady exchange CoinExchange.io and I will tell you my story. I'm angry and sad. I don't know what to do, I tried everything and now I believe I just lost my money. So I came here and wanted to share this with you and if possible, give you a warning. At 2018-04-16 (about 1 month ago) I sent 300 XLR (Solaris) to my Kucoin account from CoinExchange.io, yes, the coins are just "vanished". But this is not the whole story, there are lots of shady things going on with this exchange.First of all, here is the screenshot of my transaction: https://prnt.sc/jh4brkI assume that you will want to see the TxID, here it is(you can also see this TxID in the above screenshot);43b57abb1f50d9c162937d22dabdfa58bbf84bb7ad955b0bc232577c4d33c427 If you search this TxID on the explorer, you will see NO RESULT. Yes, they basically give you fake TxIDs and they do this 90% of the time. When I checked my other transaction IDs, I saw that 9 of 10 TxIDs are just fake. There are no result on the official coin explorers. Because of this, the developer of Solaris can't help me. In the withdrawal history as you see it says "completed" already, but there are no coins. They just vanished, and CoinExchange.io not responding to my tickets.Where is my real transaction ID (TxID)?As an exchange it's their duty to give us correct TxIDs and let us know what's going on, we are paying fees when we make transactions on their exchange. Why they give fake TxIDs? This is just the beginning. The most interesting part starting now. Below is my Solaris deposit address in CoinExchange;my deposit addressWhen you search this address in the explorer of Solaris, you'll see this picture: https://ift.tt/2Ib3rCV OF THESE TRANSACTIONS ARE MINE. Yes, you heard that right. None of these transactions are belong to me. And my real transactions are not there, my real deposits, nothing. I haven't even made any transactions at 30th of April yet we see there is a transaction - 251.94706672 Solaris.Where are my real transactions? Why can't I see them in the history?Who made these transactions with my address (which NONE of them belongs to me) without my permission? IF YOU LOOK CLOSELY ON THAT PICTURE, you will see that there are STAKING INPUTS to my deposit address. I repeat, there are Staking INPUTS to an exchange deposit address. Which makes, no sense? Right? How can this be even possible (just for the records, I haven't stake Solaris once and even if I did, as far as I know you can't send staking-mining rewards directly to the exchange addresses).Who staked Solaris and used my deposit address? How can they do this, is it even possible? Is it finished? NO.Yes, I did create a support ticket. And all I got is a bot respond, that's it. In 1 month, they didn't even care about me and what happened to my coins. I sent lots of messages, they haven't reply any of them. So either they fcked up something in their database or whatever, or they just stole my coins.I want to warn you friends. Enough of this scammers in crypto, enough they stole our money. Be careful about this exchange please. This exchange have lots of shady activities, to sum up;1 ) Where are the real TxIDs?2 ) Why they give us fake TxIDs which can not be found in the official explorers?3 ) Why there are transactions to my deposit address which not belongs to me?4 ) Who made these transactions and why?5 ) Where are my real transactions, why I can't see them in the explorer? Is all information in CoinExchange fake?6 ) Why there are STAKING INPUTS to my deposit address? How is it possible?7 ) Who staked Solaris and used my deposit address, without my knowledge and my permission?8 ) Where are my coins?Lots of traders left crypto because of scammers like this. We are the community, without us these scam exchanges can not survive. They need us more than we need them, they make money from our trades and now they steal. If we expose them and let people know what they're doing, they will die eventually. Right now the only exchange I trust is Binance.CoinExchange.io will not respond your tickets, they ignore. They respond your ticket once with a bot message and thats it. You are on your own. If you care about your money, do not use CoinExchange.io

Libra Credit : finally a team skilled enough to build a true lending ecosystem ?

Loans are a growing market in the crypto space and appear as one of the most promising applications of blockchain technology. Thus, lending projects can look like a oversaturated space. But when you take a look about it, have any projects delivered until now ? A decentralized lending project is difficult to execute, which is why I want to share my thoughts about Libra Credit.First, what is Libra Credit ? Basically, the team wants to build a decentralized lending ecosystem thanks to :A network of partnerships with insitutionnals, private investors and stablecoinsAn AI-based credit assessment frameworkImplementation of various operations ; crypto to fiat loans, crypto to crypto loans, crypto to stable coin loans…The team :As I said, this kind of projects are tricky to execute, and that’s why I think this project is promising : their team is one of the strongest (if not the strongest) I’ve seen since I’m investing in this space.Lu Hua, CEO & Co-Founder, was a senior executive in Paypal (Head of Core Payments for PayPal China and Head of Global Banking Platform for Paypal US). He has also a strong entrepreneurship experience since he has bulit a loan company in China (moKredit) with 30M users.Dan Schatt, COO & Co-Founder was also a top executive of Paypal as General Manager of Financial Innovations, and has also experience in fintech companies.Howard Wu, Chief Scientist, was Software Engineer at Google. He’s a recognized blockchain expert with a position of Advisor of Blockchain at Berkeley.Scott Thompson, advisor: CEO of Tuition.io, former CEO of Yahoo and former President of PayPalAdvisors from top VCs (FBG Capital, Danhua Capital)These guys have the skills to get shit done. The team is obviously a huge plus, but here’s a quick general summary of the pros and cons of Libra imo :Pros :These guys know what they are doing, they have a strong experience in lending projects : Libra CEO has already built a loan company in China (moKredit) with 30 million users.ex-CEO of Yahoo is advisor (the guy has his own Wikipedia page)Already have 50 people working full time on the projectAlready working MVP at https://ift.tt/2Iy8yx4 - you can take out a loan right nowThe project has well-connected Chinese financial backers who should ensure a quick exchange listing and market makingICO whitelist had to close early due to demandPublic ICO hardcap was reduced to only $4m, which should mean unmet demand when tokens releaseCons :Lots of competitors in the lending space (Salt, ETHlend, NEXO, Lendingblock…)Current ICO hype is mostly on blockchain projects right nowRoadmap a bit vague about when and how crypto to fiat loans will be implemented.I’m interested about different opinions on this. Is there something that I missed ? Any weak points to underline ? Let me know, tokens are releasing today.

EOS appears to have chosen to rename their core token "SYS" one week after Syscoin released their asset/token & DApp platform Syscoin 3.0

Syscoin (SYS) has existed since 2014 and is a very active and ongoing project. Their Syscoin 3.0, released May 1st 2018, is highly scalable with potentially the highest TPS among all token/asset platforms, hosts an array of valuable functions and services, and will be hosting oncoming ICOs and airdrops which are already announced.EOS posted this:https://garanto.org/eosio-dawn-4-1-releaseas-we-continue-the-march-towards-our-1-0-release-today-we-have-tagged-a-4-1-release-of-the-eosio-software.html"### Renaming of the Core TokenPlease be aware that we have changed the name of the token symbol from “EOS” to “SYS”. If you would like to change the name to something different, check CORE_SYMBOL_NAME in the “CMakeLists.txt” file."https://ift.tt/2rYdgZQ note: Wasn't there a controversy on Cryptsy back in the day between MSC (Brock Pierce's ICO) and MST, both called "Mastercoin", and investors being confused and buying the wrong one? Maybe irrelevant, but interesting none the less...

Substratum vs Skycoin Comparison

I have heard a lot of people debating Substratum vs Skycoin, both ofcourse claim to be better than the competitor and it's hard to come to an unbiased conclusion so I tried to gather the most important facts and present a somewhat thorough conclusion. Disclaimer: I don't hold either of these coins as I'm too risk averse for the crypto markets, I still love the tech and writing about it though.Open-Source We all love open source projects in crypto as they make sure there are no backdoors and the community can help develop the platform, right now Substratum 'only' has their node system on github while Skycoin has basically everything on github.Usability right now A lot of projects make bold claims for the future and have great ideas, but actually getting stuff done matters a lot too. Tha's why im also looking at current usability. Substratum seems to have an open beta to test their software although from comments on reddit it looks like there isn't much use yet as there is no anonimity (yet?). Link Skycoin's testnet seems to go live on may 22nd so I'm not sure who the clear winner is in this category. One thing going for Sky though is that their coin runs on their own blockchain platform and has a transaction time of 2 seconds and free transactions, Substratum uses an Ethereum token.Plans for the future / Roadmap Substratum's roadmap is developing the network, nodes and CryptoPay as well as global expansion which increases the usability because the more nodes the better it works and the more stable the network is. Skycoin as mentioned in the last paragraph will launch it's testnet on May 22, and aside from that will launch 'Fiber' which lets companies build Dapps with their own blockchains so that they won't run into scalability problems like we saw with cryptokitty game. According to their whitepaper they plan to develop antenna's for their own internet and according to telegram and reddit Sky will be listed on more exchanges once exchanges are done testing the consensus algo 'Obelisk'.More differences From some previous comparisons and telegram/reddit people are saying Sub is focusing on decentralized hosting while Sky is focusing on decentralizing bandwidth and ISP infrastructure, other differences are SUB is ERC-20 and SKY has it's own blockchain and probably some more differences I missed :DAnyway, I hope you guys appreciate this write up comparison thingy, and may the best solution win, or both work together ;)

The One Thing We Really Need In Crypto

Amidst all the chaos of blockchains, tokens, exchanges, crypto celebs, ICOs, media, events, forums, tweets, chats, etc we seem to forget what crypto is really about, which happens to be the most important thing about crypto. No, it’s not about profit. Yes, profit might be your priority, and in almost all cases of the projects. Yet, it isn’t. The ability to profit from speculating on something is not new, crypto just introduces a new asset class to do this. There are trillion of dollars that are being profited in ways other than crypto. In fact, our pursuit of profit in the crypto mania has blinded us from what crypto is really about. And you, yes you, the users, the developers, the project founders and CEOs, are constantly in the thoughts of trying to profit from this emerging industry one way or another. Be it trading, ICOs, fees, products, scams, whatever it is you can think of. The ingenuity doesn’t stop there. There will always be new ways and methods people will conceive of to profit. Is chasing profit a bad thing? No no no, it’s not. It’s perfectly normal. I’d be a hypocrite to say that I’m not interested in profiting given that I’ve invested in this space. But is chasing profit the only thing that matters? It does seem that way at the moment when everything that’s crypto/blockchain related at the moment is about business and profit. Oh look, supply chain disruptor! Oh look, future of AI! Oh look, partnership with Fortune 500 company! So many ambitious projects, so many ways to build businesses and profit. It’s awesome. The future of businesses will never be the same. I share the sentiment. This is totally understandable. But there’s one thing we should never ever forget.Don’t ever forget, the ability to freely, cheaply, quickly, securely, privately, permissionlessly transfer value to anyone, anywhere, anytime without getting your money confiscated, account frozen or yourself questioned is the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT VALUE OF CRYPTO that has never before existed in human history. So defend this value like your life depends on it. It’s your financial sovereignty. It’s our financial sovereignty. Do not turn a blind eye on this. Do not allow any institutions or people to hide away, destroy, corrupt or undermine this value.PLEASE.(speaking of which, we really need a non-profit, decentralized and community-based coin that meets ALL the criteria above)

Consensus 2018: You guys got robbed, and trolled.

So let me get this straight: A bunch of dudes who spent months shilling you their bags, made millions in the process while leaving you guys hanging with huge bags of coins after a crash and at a massive loss, charging you guys as much as 3000$ to attend. There were 8000 visitors too, you do the math.I still don't comprehend why some of you are still kissing these people's asses, 99% of their wealth was made on your backs through blatant insider trading and pumping and they walked away free leaving you guys with the massive losses. There is a reason why Vitalik boycotted this event, because it is just a massive circle jerk of crooks who pretend banks are evil but will go to the same lengths as them to acquire massive amounts of wealth. If the SEC investigated these folks for insider trading, i can garantee you that 95% of them would end up in court, that clown Charlie Lee being the first of them. Now, seeking wealth is not evil, we are all here for this, but if you dare calling out the banks for being crooks and then encourage these shitty events that do nothing good for cryptos, then you are no different than the banks. You guys need to face reality and realize that most of these people sold on the high and unloaded everything they had on you, the people. It's not the whales, it's not the reptilians, it's not Mt.Gox, it's the main drivers of the cryptocurrency projects and the insiders that unloaded massive amounts of cryptos on investors to secure their profits while at the same time encouraging people to buy in.Stop encouraging this scum and start encouraging events that actually matter to the cryptocurrency world.PS: I bought way before 2017, i am still in the green, unloaded some of my positions in december as well but in no way i encouraged people to buy in through blatant shilling. I am not mad because these people got rich, i am mad because these people are the exact people the crypto world is supposed to be separating itself from. You can downvote me all you want, you will not hide the truth.
