Can we get back to the roots of blockchain?

These are 3 of the hot posts on /r/worldnews right now:11k votes Blizzard is banning people in its Hearthstone Twitch chat for pro-Hong Kong statements23.6k votes As Zuckerberg Defends False Trump Ads as Free Expression, Critics Say Facebook's Assault on 'Foundations of Democracy' Must Be Stopped18.1k votes Leaked Audio Reveals How Coca-Cola Undermines Plastic Recycling EffortsAre these not the issues that blockchain was created to address? Truth and integrity are what the technology promotes and its something thats needed badly today. It is not without it's issues (it does pain me when i hear that bitcoin has 6 times more energy usage per day than hoover dam produces), but at the minute i don't see any better way to cut through the cognitive dissonance of today than outright showing a trail of truth from beginning til the end with blockchain.Does it not bother anyone else when all we see on this subreddit is talk about the price of crypto at any moment instead of how blockchain is being applied to tackle real current problems?Maybe there's another subreddit for that, so if there is please let me know so i can be more hopeful and supportive of the direction this technology is going towards
