https://ift.tt/2uplNud is the danger of using a hybrid POW consensus system. It might be surprising but BCH Core decided to finalize all blocks once their observed depth is 11. This can result in the network splitting and might cause nodes not not sync properly after an upgrade. Imagine if this happened to an economically important node and some troll miner decided to grow some obscure fork?
